Apparently Kagawa has agreed personal terms with United.

So that's Hazard to Chelsea, Kagawa to United whilst Arsenal are closely monitoring Chinese sensation Fu-kin Noh-Wan (shamelessly stolen from twitter :D)

:lol::lol:

Joking aside - It's not even June 1st yet and it's a long time till August 31st. Plus - you've already signed Podolski

This is why I cheesed off. If we don't have the money then fair enough but then wenger should come out and say that, and tell the fans that the clubs aim is to finish top 4 and compete with the likes of spurs, Newcastle and Liverpool. Not that we can compete for league as he says we can. A bit of realism would help.

Chelsea in advanced talks with Hulk so we'll be suffering the "Incredible and don't get him angry" puns all next season by the looks of it:)

Just reading that ballotelli says he will kill anyone who throws a banana at him during the competition.

He then goes on to say

"I have my life, my world. I do what I want, without annoying anyone."

which he then contradicts himself in the next breath with

"I believe I am more intelligent than the average person."

Instantly annoying me. The fact he would kill someone who racially abused him shows he is in fact less intelligent than the average person.

+1 what a knob !!!

BBC saying Brendan Rodgers expected to be named Liverpool Manager within 48 hrs.

The clubs are understood to be discussing compensation understood to be in the region of £4m to £5m.

So that's £10m to Rafa and Roy, £8m to Kenny and now £5m for Rogers ?

Hulk has been a favourite player of mine for years. I'm not sure if I'll be sad to see him at Chelsea or delighted that I get to watch him play every week. Dilemma! It'll be interesting to see how much money it takes to get him considering his buy out clause is £100m on his contract.

Hulk is an odd one. He'll hit the corner flag, put half a dozen in row Z and then burst the net.

About E40m is what I heard. Seems a lot (for him) but this is Porto we're talking about, the 'money making machine' and with Chelsea buying I see no reason to think they'll not fleece them.

£30-35 mill was being mooted

Noooooooooooooo! He can't do that. He's still a Chelsea man at heart :'(

Hulk would be a bargain at £40mil compared to some. Hummmm, Carroll at £35m or Hulk at £40m. No comparison really.

Now, with Hazard, Hulk and Mata feeding an on-form and confidence brimming Torres..... oooh! can't wait for the season to start.

Just have to off-load Sturridge somewhere :bang:

He's prone to the "odd" dive so Drogba's physio, stretcher bearers and drama teacher will keep their jobs too:)

Maybe Liverpool are just pulling names out of a hat. They'll be interviewing Roy Rogers and Kenny Rogers next :D

They could'nt do any worse... :D

I think Brenden rodgers would be a good manager, I've asked for him since the start if you look back. I'd much rather have rodgers than martinez.

Hope the beeb are right

EDIT: it's confirmed!!! SWEEEEEEEET

You mean they have a manager hat as well a player hat ? ;)

Now Rodgers is confirmed, I hope the Liverpool fans give him a good chance to to make his mark and hopefully start bringing in some decent results.

Joe, on the basis you'd have said you were overjoyed if Sir Alex had been named Liverpool manager and taken credit for the prediction, where exactly have you been asking for Rodgers?

In this very thread. Feel free to read back. When the short list was drawn up I think my actual words were that he wouldn't be the worst choice, not the most enthusiastic comment. But I think he's a great manager.

Although who said anything about a prediction? I'm saying I wanted him not predicted him.

Chuffed!

I'd rather Liverpool had Rodgers than Martinez.

I'd struggle to dislike Martinez plus the name Rodgers has lots of potential for future mocking.

Apparently RVP has demanded Arsenal sign Affelay from Barcelona if he's to sign a new contract. Valued at £6m I think they'd be silly not to!

So Lampard out of the Euro's and Henderson is his replacement....

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18265377

We are starting to look really thin on quality now aren't we? :suspect:

I'm wondering why Joe Cole has been so overlooked. He's had a great season in France. I wonder if he's gone unappreciated because he's been outside the English game. Regardless, Henderson is a very weak replacement for the squad!

That's what you call a double blow :bonk:

I'm not saying this because they're United players but I'd have tried very hard to persuade Scholes and Carrick.

It would be great to see Cole back in an England shirt, but I think he's going to have to do some proving after his last season with Liverpool!

I think you're right, although I can't imagine for a moment Scholes being interested. I was wondering about Carrick though, regardless of the indifferent season he may have had, I'm surprised he didn't have the nod as replacement.

It's funny how a bad season for cole and he's out of the England picture yet a terrible season for Gerrard and he's still the England captain. I hope he proves me wrong but i'm expecting us to do better when he's not on the pitch, just like Liverpool have all season.

I actually agree. Henderson has been really poor I can't really understand his inclusion at all. I'd take scholes but not carrick. He's just as poo as Henderson. Never realised his potential after leaving west ham in my opinion.

Surely someone like huddlestone would have been better than henderson? Or even jack rodwell?

Carrick asked not to be considered. He's had a pretty good season holding a midfield that has had to chop and change around him.

Paul Scholes said he would have played for England in the 2010 World Cup had Capello not left it too late to ask him.

Just read that m'vila picked up an injury today and is now in doubt for the euros. I may have to reshuffle my fantasy team if that's the case but perhaps it could play into Arsenal's hands in negotiating them down from their €17m valuation which is no doubt too high for the board. If we can't get him capoue and biglia are two decent alternatives. I've also seen mention of de Jong being an option but honestly, I don't want to receive any of City's cast offs. Especially not one quite so prone to the violent tackle!

Chelsea have agreed a £38m deal for Hulk and just need to confirm personal terms which aren't expected to be a problem. So that's £70m Chelsea have spent on two players' transfer fees alone, not including astronomic wages and agent's fees on top of two other players bought for £7m a piece. If only FFP actually had any promise of preventing such ridiculous amounts of money influencing the sport!

De Jong is exactly the player we need looking how defensively frail we are.

Ah OK, fair enough, I hadn't realised Carrick's predicament. I hadn't seen him play that much for Utd this year, so assumed he wasn't having such a great season - I know he's not always a favourite with some sections.

As for Scholes, in real terms as good as he was, I'm not convinced he's the answer to our problems at National level. I think I'd probably blood younger talent now.

You like the thugs in football don't you!

I could pull up plenty more examples of both players. I'm astonished anyone could want either in their team!

Is Milner in the squad?

Viera was no angel, and most successful teams have a hatchet man of sorts. We need steel and backbone.

So the Carling Cup will now be the Capital One Cup, or COC for short. Not the best name!

Huddlestones injured isn't he?

Carrick is far superior to Henderson. He's not a flair player, just picks up the ball, controls the game and passes - well. Unlike the rest of our midfield. Shame he put himself out of the running.

Henderson replacing Lampard is a travesty, I'm concerned. Ox to start!!
