sorry, but ended up quoting myself for some reason. But check out the dinners vid before pressing play.

I swear to god that the bird in the backgound of the static vid is his wife saying "well will see about that!"

He was average for Belgium tonight. I guess we'll see against England at Wembley next week.

Average is how I am going to choose to remember him if he signs for Chelsea or City.

If he signs for United I'll just think about how many good English players are average when on International duty.. ;)

That's not really relevant to May 26th though Joe unless you're just posting it because it was a good day for Liverpool. Oh hang on, it can't be that. Must just be a bitter things LOL

Eden Hazard

Amusing Interview on French TV regarding his future. He's obviously giving nothing away till June 2nd when we'll know who's got him.

He has said that all offers are fine from a financial point of view and that his choice has been made based on the conversation about where he will be played and whether he will be regular starter.

YouTube Link

He is going too Chelsea !!!!

You heard it here first and feel free to quote me on it in a few weeks time :)

It's as likely as Manchester so it wouldn't be a surprise. That said he's got Kompany sweet talking him for a week just now so that could be an influence.

We'll find out after the England v Belgium game on Saturday.

How much of the Rangers scernio is making the news down south?

There has been a hive of activity over the past few weeks and it's now getting to a serious point of where if they continue with the planned legal action, it could threaten any further involvement in Europe from Scottish clubs and our national side, just wondering how much has been reported south of the wall?

None!

Joe, Dinners. Calm down.. Make way!:lol::lol:

Really poor second half so far from England. The first 30 mind thy were o controlled. Now they it look scrappy and unorganised.

Just about to catch up on the highlights to see what's what! I've heard mixed things about the game.

Sounds about right.

I missed the first 20mins or so but what I saw was poor. :shake:

If we play like that and win I will be happy. Out of today who is a 1st choice? Possibly jones and Carroll, Gerard and Parker. All others reserves.

Starters from tonight I'd guess

Gerrard - because he's Captain
Carroll - because he can hold up / knock down to attacking midfielders whilst we're light up front.
Young - as above with Carroll plus 4 goals in 4 games
Parker.

I'm getting more depressed as I write this LOL

At one point tonight we had Downing Parker Barry Milner in midfield. Has it ever been that bad ?

Expectations are about as low as they can go!

As most England friendlies go it just fizzled out once the second half started. Quality is seemingly lacking, although I do like the look of the Oxlade-Chamberlain kid - maybe not quite as much as the ITV commentator who I think may have been related to him such was his enthusiasm for him when he came on, talk about heaping pressure on the kid.

Anyway, this should be hung up in the dressing room for the next couple of weeks or so, just to give the squad a bit of focus!

I like what I've seen of Oxlade-Chamberlain although it's very early in his career. I can see him being used as an 'impact player' (hate that phrase) but I'd like to see him get some decent game time.

France - I didn't realise they were unbeaten in 18 games.

jones?

I mean, everyone played poorly second half but other than when he hit the post I cant think of a single other thing he did worthwhile. He seemed to give the ball away all game, he was shocking. In fact I think andy caroll made more defensive clearances than jones. I've always liked jones but he's been really poor the last few months.

Please please please don't let this be a sign of things to come.

Anyway

I wouldn't consider Jones a starter - although having 'been poor' seems to be a prerequisite for England selection.

Jones is a good squad selection by virtue of his flexibility to perform a variety of roles rather than his quality in any one position.

Depends on if Johnson is fit, if he isn't then jones will start.

Balls on the line, I predict we will exit in the semis!! I think we will play similar to Chelsea and grind out results.

Nothing to do with him being man u phil. I really like phil jones. He was so bad yesterday though. Don't you agree?

He didn't do a lot. That said nobody did really.

Still - I'll fire up the old England Avatar

I thought he was pretty awful tbh. If he got down the wing and in the position to cross the ball, the Norwegians could have gone for a cup of tea and not worried about the ball getting into the penalty area. He didn't impress me much more in defence either.

Caroll, on the other hand, was quite impressive when he helped out in defence although, and it may just be me, he seemed quite slow to get back into position when England came away with the ball.

Overall I thought we were relatively strong in defence and Norway were, for the most part, restricted to long range sots which were easily blocked. That meant that Green wasn't really tested and he seemed to make what could have been a fatal error when they hit the post from the corner although that may have been down to not having a defender in place there.

All that said, I think Norway were quite poor so I don't think there's too many conclusions to be drawn from yesterday, especially given that a good proportion of the England team that played won't even start at the Euros.

It looks as though the club have failed to convince RVP they will bring in the talent to challenge for trophies next season so he'll be departing. He's quoted as saying it's not the money on the table that will sway his decision, it's the prospect of success in the coming years. I believe he means that and I have to say I don't blame him. The lack of ambition shown by Kroenke is embarrassing. I'm genuinely fearful that Arsenal will follow the path of the clubs he owns in the US. He runs Arsenal fantastically well as a profit driven enterprise and that's all he sees us as. He rarely ever attends games and I honestly believe his concern with our results only matters in so far as the revenue we can generate rather than the trophies we can deliver. He views our excellent training facilities as a production run to produce great players who can then be flogged to the highest bidder when they reach a standard good enough to give us some hope of progressing towards league and tournament victory.

It's also a joke that Usmanov, who by regulatory standards has enough shares to be classified as an owner of the company if Kroenke didn't have more shares, is completely silenced in the entire arrangement.

People criticise the likes of Roman Abramovic but at least he's there at every game wanting his team to succeed and win at the very highest level. Imagine if Arsenal had ownership (and capital) like that combined with the truly exceptional management delivered by Wenger, which enables a team to over perform year in and year out despite glaring weaknesses in certain positions and depth.

I can't praise Wenger enough for his managerial ability. He might like a moan, and he's pretty damn stubborn, but what he gets out of the players is incredible. If we had a few weaknesses resolved and depth added to the bench we'd be a footballing force to be reckoned with. Of course, as long as Kroenke is here to sell the finest players our club can develop and then fail to reinvest the money we won't ever see the improvement that the fans and undoubtedly Wenger himself wants.

/rant

I think the difference is that Abramovic isn't at Chelsea to make money. He wanted a club as a 'play thing' for his own entertainment which means he brings players into the club that he feels will deliver silverware.

Dalglish on the losing team...who'd have thought it?! :naughty:

Ramsay found it too hot in the kitchen then.

Not surprised having seen his dressing room pre match team talk.

Talk about depressing. I'm amazed they even let the players keep their shoe laces after that :lol:

All good fun though and a few good tackles too :naughty:

My life won't be the same after seeing Freddie ljunberg nut-megged by a member of JLS! :(

Was the same fella that just avoided Roy Keane's tackle with the forward roll ?

He was a bit nippy wasn't he.

Just read this on Twitter:

"This year's Soccer Aid raised £5 million, but we'll have to deduct the £80 million Kenny Dalglish spent putting the losing team together"
