Obviously Chelsea winning the CL is tough on Spurs but by 'caved in' I just mean that Spurs were (for a long period) well placed to finish high enough in the league regardless.

Enjoyed the match, I am glad Chelsea won as I think they have deserved a bit of success from the comp considering how many semi finals they have been in.

What about the presentation......that was awful.....why not present it on the pitch? Not so good German TV coverage and made me laugh every time a Chelsea player picked up the trophy, you could not see who it was (until they climbed on the ledge)

As for JT, he lost a bit more dignity from the football purists but I don't think he cares.

and rightly so. If his team mates wanted him there then there's nothing wrong with it no matter how much it irks the so called 'purists'.

How do you feel about it roger being a Chelsea fan?

Chelsea were always destined to win, a baggies reject does what all those other superstar managers couldn't...seeing the lack of love between Ambramovich and Matteo at the end was interesting too. JT is indeed a numpty bring on his euros, eek!

Keane had a chuckle tonight when asked about it.

I was coming around to the whole JT thing about what he'd done etc etc but then tonight he went and got his full flipping football kit on

Don't want to detract from what the rest of the Chelsea team have done but JT has had pelters on the radio tonight.

Again, why keep knocking terry? The other suspended players had their kit on too not just him.

Quite right Joe, and that's the difference. As colleagues, friends, mates they all have the utmost respect for him as a player and as their Captain, whilst the rest of us think he's a complete ******!

He's Chelsea through and through isn't he, and if UEFA grant him permisission to go and collect the trophy then I don't particularly blame him for doing so, kit or no kit.

Regardless of what a chump he is I hope it's not the only cup he's lifting over the next couple of months!

I'd love to see Matteo get the job but you can't help get the feeling that he's not going to.

Joe, I'm talking about Terry in isolation but yes, merrelles and the guy who got 'Jeff Shreeves'ed should have a word with themselves about getting kitted up when they were suspended IMO :)

Edit: although terry was the only one to disgrace himself by getting a straight red for foul play and not getting a suspension like others through cumulative yellows....

Terry talking to ( could be his new boss) Cappello.. I'd of liked to be a fly on the wall there.

I dont see the big deal. Whatever they did to get suspended somehow cancels out the multiple things they may have done to get the team to the final in the first place?

How does that work exactly?

Much as I hate to say it the League is better than the European Cup but

You mean 'Facht' meester Ferguson

well that's a whole new debate in itself. I think seasoned PL Champions would put the CL at the top of their most wanted... but a team who have never won anything in a generation would make the PL it's priority. Bitter? Moi?

Thanks for your valuable contribution

I've just read that the Stoke chairman wants Pulis to sign Michael Owen on a free. I can't imagine a less likely player to take part in the Stoke squad. Small, technical, weak and exceptionally prone to injury; he's the exact opposite of all things Stoke! That said, if it changes their style of play slightly I'd be a happy man!

Just seen this - could be an inspired signing of a total waste of everyone's time....

I think if you get Owen on a pay per game deal its a no brainer. I think he would be perfect for Arsenal, we need a guy who knows how to tap it in from 6 yards.

Him and Crouch could be interesting - I doubt he'll accept pay and play so think he'll go abroad for more guaranteed money. I still think he'll end up in the US.

Rumours coming thick and fast for hazard going to mufc. Confirmation is apparently expected in a couple of hours.

Stupid decision of the year.... Qpr giving dyer a 1 year deal. Only played once this season and been injured pretty much the last 4 years. Fair enough if a pay as you play deal, but pointless otherwise.

I nearly crashed the car on the way home just now when I heard it on the radio! Dyer played 6 minutes of the opening game before spending the rest of the season injured, I can only hope Hughes knows something we don't but gawd knows what that could be!

unbelievable about Dyer... i even forgot he played for QPR now. Just wickiped him and he's played 35 games.. sorry.. made 35 appearances (including the 7 mins for QPR) since the start of the 07-08 season for West Ham. Outstanding return on investment :cuckoo:

The Eden Hazard to United story has been rumbling for a few weeks since he announced he'd be playing in Manchester next season. Problem is it looked more like it would be City due to his transfer fee which could be up to £40m.

Anyway - By all accounts he fancies Chelsea following their Champions League result and could be on his way there. £35m by all accounts. That said I've heard City for £38m too

Fantasic player though and a great addition to the Premier league if he does come to England.

Oh yeah it's been going on for ages. He's a real tart they way he talks up his move to the media on a daily basis. Chelsea are rumoured to be in because he's seeking record premier league wages beyond MUFC's reach. Whoever signs him is getting arguably the best central attacking midfielder at present with 20 goals and 16 assists.

It's an odd one certainly. I can only assume, Diakate might not be signing, Barton may get fired and \ or will miss the first 2 months of the season, Faurlin may not be fit for the start, Derry will be a year older, Buz was very inconsistent, which leave us potential threadbare there. If fit, he could be a decent player. On a pay as you play deal, could be worth the risk for the 6 months.

I must admit I thought it was a joke when I first read it though....

I do trust Hughes so let's see and hope Dyer proves everyone wrong.

drogba leaving chelsea on a free transfer

seems pretty stupid of chelsea to me, why on earth didnt they sign a 2 year deal last summer like he wanted and then sell him this summer rather than letting him go for free?

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18152689

I think in all its probably the right decision by him and the club! I'd personally love him to stay but I think he's considered the fact that there may be big changes coming up and if he signed a new deal, he may just end up on the subs bench for a big part of that. Still what a monster of a player he's been and I think to most EPL supporters has been one of the best in the league ever.

Scored 157 goals in 341 appearances. He is the club's fourth all-time highest scorer, his 34 goals in European competition is a Chelsea record by 10 goals and his nine strikes in nine cup finals.

He won three Premier League titles, four FA Cups, two Carling Cups and the Champions League. He has been named Chelsea's Player of the Year and Players' Player of the Year and won the Premier League Golden Boot twice and scored in nine finals

Still when you see those figures you do wonder if its the right decision:thinking:

My favourite John Terry 'ego scene stealling' one so far....

i dont doubt its the right move, but what were chelsea thinking not selling him whilst in contract so as to get some money in?

I wonder if Drogba leaving will placate 'nando complaining to the Spanish press now he may get some more game time ;)

I think your right here. At this moment he's now the No1 striker and that is positive for him. What did annoy me a tad was the fact that he came out with his personals the day after Chelsea won the the CL. Seemed a bit untimely, even showy. It's not as if he's been banging them in all season, but I'm the first to admit I appreciate the options he has given to the blues when he plays with 100% commitment. But with the price tag he cost and the wages he's getting I think its a bit of a cheek to (shall I say it) blame Chelsea fc for not giving him the play time that he thinks he deserves.

Anyone think he's using the press for a way out?
