Still recovering from the match and the hangover, my hands are still stinging from all the applause & I'm still hoarse.....

A great day, credit to the Coventry fans who stayed to the end and supported their team, I know how they feel.

COYR and now for the big boys!

Just hope Adkins does some good deals this summer!!

Hodgson for England... According to the BBC.

I would be very happy with that. Roy is a wonderful guy, great manager who has had success over the world and used to international management so would be a great appointment.
 
Could be good, could be bad. I never felt he had enough time at Liverpool to make. Difference and settle in, so I think his stint there can really be ignored. He has had success at international but no more than what England typically get anyway, last 16 and qualification. It might just end up being a non event.

Hodgson will cost the FA a lot lot less than Arry, so with that in mind and Spurs recent form, I think the odds have shortened on Roy Hodgson.

Liverpool will certainly give them a better game than we did - it's not often I prefer changing my son's nappy to watching the match....:gag:

We effectively had 3 of our first team midfield out today as well as, in my opinion, getting our tactics wrong today.

We are in big trouble now, we need to beat Stoke (no easy matter) and then get something at Man City, or pray Bolton lose all their remaining games, which looks highly unlikely.

At least this season has been exciting both at the top and bottom of the league!

I was on babysitting duties today, thankfully. Everytime I've been to Stamford Bridge we lose, I had a bad feeling today when I saw Diakate was out as we just have no pace in midfield without him, and with Tarrabt out as well it was always going to be a struggle.

At least Blackburn lost.

Wigan are virtually up now, and fair play to them, they deserve it after their recent run, especially considering they should have got at least a point if not 3 at Chelsea themselves.

We need 4 points to have any chance of ending ahead of Villa, assuming they lose both games - unlikely.

I think Bolton will get at least 4 points if not 6 from their remaining games which would mean we'd need to beat Stoke and get a draw or win away to Man City.

Still Cisse in the Championship should be interesting!

I knew we were onto a hiding when I found out Diakite wasn't playing. Losing him AND Taarabt was a crushing blow but playing Cisse wide left was a tactical error and it was only when Traore came on and they went to 4-4-2 did they look anything near decent.

But the teams he has managed at int level have been poor, so even to qualify is a big achievement.

Really don't know why the media (Talksport) are so against Roy Hodgson. IF the his the next England manager, then lets all get behind the guy and give him a chance.
All I have heard today is Harry Harry Harry! No guarantees that he could do better than Roy, is there? What's Harry done? Half a good season with spurs, and ruined Bournemouth, Portsmouth & Southampton.

Listened to TS on the way home. Durham often takes an extreme view although to be fair he just say he felt underwhelmed by the idea of Hodgson. Gough will just take the opposite view to create the banter required to generate calls.

Perhaps I'm alone in not really giving a hoot who England appoint just now. Don't get me wrong, I want England to do well as much as the next person but as we've already qualified, success will be as much down to players and the rub of the green as it will the manager.

The way I see a Hogson appointment - If we do OK in the finals then great but if we flop Hodgson will be cheaper to move on and the whole media circus can begin again albeit at a time when the person they appoint can build something of their own.
 
Looking forward to the derby tonight, hoping for a united loss but expecting a draw, I think city will bottle it under the pressure and united will be too hungry.

Unlike most I don't think tonight's game will define the title, I expect city to lose points against Newcastle and very possibly against a desperate qpr on the end of the season. Swansea and Sunderland on the other hand don't really have much incentive on their games so can't see them posing too much of a threat to united.

Ho hum - you make it sound so easy for United Joe :lol:

As for tonight's game. I'm looking forward to it but then again I'm really not.

The only result which would have me thinking it was over would be a United win.

A City win and it's all still to play for, a draw and it's still advantage United.

If they get their tails up, City have the potential to run riot over anybody so I'll be more than happy with a point.
 
I'm hoping this isn't another anti-climatic clash. It's happened a few times in these big games between top sides where both teams go out with the intention of not to conceding.

I'm pretty much neutral on this one. I don't like united for their dominance but can't hide my admiration for them either. City, on the other hand, I would love to get one over on their local rival in such a key game but I hate the way money has been thrown into the club.

Overall, I'll just be happy with a really close game where both sides are adventurous and hungry for goals!

And on podolski, great signing for arsenal I hope! He has a 29% shot conversion rate compared to RVP's 21% which bodes well but we'll have to see how he gels with the team. Really hoping to see m'vila join us, as well as a defender and a versatile midfielder to replace benayoun who has been excellent for us the second half of the season. I also really hope gervinho finds his feet a little more because he's not set the world alight down that left side...maybe we'll get goetze for that role but I'd be surprised!

I don't think it will be easy for united, still work to do but your money has to be on them.
 
How wasn't that a yellow for scholes?! Hope that doesn't effect the outcome. Last thing I want is a game like this hinged on refereeing mistakes!

Decisions going united's way with a questionable yellow for company and a very soft free kick just given for rooney. Got a feeling the ref is going to have his part to play in a good outcome for united!
 
Excellent goal. Entertaining game of football at the moment. But united are getting a lot of calls their way. Hope that swings back in the second half and lets hope young doesn't come on or we'll have to get the scorecards ready
 
City are playing a dangerous game now sitting on a 1-0 lead. Basically now inviting united to score which they will. City need to change tactic and try and get goal 2.
 
Strange choice to take off tevez. I'd have thought nasri/silva would have come off to add a defensive element rather than the most dangerous man on the pitch!

Ahhhhhh beautiful. Really enjoyed watching united lose, especially when they were so poor. City battered them and should have won 2 or 3 nil.

Ferguson should learn to shut his cake hole, mouthing off like a little child when de Jong simply got his legs caught up. I can't wait to see the after match interview to see the pain on fergies face.

It all hangs on Newcastle and qpr though, the magpies will give a game that will be a much tougher test than united gave here. Can't see city winning it still, even though they were excellent tonight.
 
Gareth Barry gets my man of the match, closely followed by yaya toure. Both were superb! Ferdinand impressed me for united.

Rooney was simply abysmal. Utterly absent. He got frustrated within a half hour and never got his head sorted after. How he didn't see yellow for his perpetual protesting to the ref I don't know!
