Oh, dear. When did you 'not' realize its a cosmopolitan game:suspect: Dark ages and the way the game is played now are very different. I suggest you go watch cowendebeath (spelling?) for your true football and when you want to be entertained there is always the EPL.
Love forums for people jumping to conclusions and accusing folk of standard evils.
I said my parents are Scottish, not necessarily myself.
I support an EPL team that is as cosmopolitan as the next.
I believe that supporting any English team against the world is more of worthy of the Dark Ages tag :D

Big day in the Championship tomorrow.

I wanted Coventry to stay up but unfortunately they've gone so I'm hoping Southampton (my mates team) can get a win against Coventry to seal promotion as we can resume good banter again next season.

If Southampton only manage a draw against Coventry then West Ham can pip Southampton if they can get 3 points against Hull who now can't make it into the play offs.

Should be a nervy afternoon.

But west ham need to win by 3 clear goals right?

Southampton have scored 2 more goals so it depends on whether it's a score draw and how many goals are scored.

So if Southampton draw no matter what the score, as long as the irons win be 3 goals they will go 2nd right?

But if not, they can win by 2 goals as long as Southampton draw 0-0 ?

Edit - no then they would go to goals against and west ham have more goals against. So no matter what, west ham need to win by 3 goals if Southampton draw. But even that might not be ebo ugh if it's a 1-1 draw.

What would happen? The points, goals for and goals away would be identical if Southampton draw 1-1 and west ham win 3-0. How do they then decide?

If West Ham win 3-0 and Southampton draw 0-0 then West Ham will finish 2nd. If Southampton draw 2-2 then Southampton will finish 2nd as goal difference will be the same but they will have scored more goals. If Southampton draw 1-1 then gawd knows!

I haven't looked at it that closely Joe.

I just thought that if West Ham win and Saints loose or draw - then West Ham get promotion.

If Saints win then it's Saints.

Goal diff

Saints 81 - 46
West Ham 79 - 47

Saints 2 points above West Ham

A few permutations possible in this one

P45 for big Sam if they don't go up I would have thought, but Saints will stick with Nigel regardless.

The final decider, if all else is equal, are the results when WHU and Soton played each other. And that was a draw and a win to Soton. I can't see Southampton losing or drawing to Coventry though.....can they??

I wonder if Big Sam has been approached by Barcelona? They've heard about the concept of the long ball and want to learn to lump it up the park :D

'Big Sam' at Barca :gag:

Joking aside - and as silly as it may sound...........Barcelona's 'happy tippy tappy' 5 a side style fell short this week and It didn't take a genius (after 75 mins or so) to fathom out that they had no alternative

Maybe that's the secret ingredient Big Sam can bring to Barca....happy tippy tappy...hoooof :D

You're right though, for all the one touch, passing rates and massive possession, they did look stuck for ideas towards the end.

It would be interesting to see what would happen if they end up on the same points and goals but I suspect it would go down to the results between them as I can't see how else they could separate them other than maybe the number of wins over the season? Southampton have 25, WHU have 23 so even that's in Southampton's favour.

I also can't see Coventry getting anything out of the game today but Southampton will be the team under pressure whereas Coventry are already down so have nothing to lose. That said, Hull's season is also over and they won't be under any pressure either so it's going to be hard for WHU you win by 3 goals.

Could be an interesting 90 minutes coming up but, then again, it could all be pretty much decided within the first 10 minutes.

Never mind the knockabout stuff, how pathetic is this and why do some football fans wonder why they get a bad reputation?

He COULD be innocent. Rape is such a hard thing ti prove and there have been many cases of innocent men being jailed. Is there anything wrong with this. Many people in prison have teams of people supporting them.

There will be many people believing John terry is racist even if he is found innocent, so should we be suprised when the opposite happens.

The ref in the West Ham game Nigel Miller used to ref in the north west durham combination about 15 years ago, my m8 swore at him and he sent me off!!!!

The problem however, is more one of the moral vacuum in which some footballers and their supporters seem to operate. They will argue he's innocent because it's seen as supporting the club. But by definition they have no problem with a group of blokes having sex with an incapacitated woman whilst another bunch film it! Maybe I move in strange circles but I don't know anyone who would think that's acceptable, let alone a laugh.

And the similarity with this case and Terry and Suarez is the shameful way the focus is put back on to the victim as if they have done something wrong by being raped or racially abused.

Whats the story with Wigan!!!,won 5 out of last 7  did they pull of a silmilar escape last season and will they again be propping up the pl again next season?

They're doing really well aren't they although I thought Newcastle would beat them today.

Pleased to see Southampton got the result they were needing for promotion to the Prem.

Pretty disgraceful for stoke fans to boo and insult Ramsey for breaking his leg. Fortunately my view of stoke already can't drop any lower!

Incredibly score for Wigan. Really looking forward to seeing the highlights from that game! Everton sounded on form too! Could be opening up a gap there over Liverpool if they can't overcome Norwich!

Amongst my memories of 2005 was their defeat to United at the end of the season and instead of supporting their team, the home fans thought it would be more fun to chant USA at the visiting crowd :cuckoo:

Wigan battering the magpies must give City fans a bit of a lift as I think some fear that game more than Mondays.

Thankfully the stupendous Luis Suarez Put a stop to that with his hat trick

It's funny what happens when he stops trying to eat grass and starts staying on his feet! It's a bit late to correct the abysmal 9% shot conversion rate for liverpool this season though :D

What a third goal from Suarez. That's definitely the best hat trick in the premier league this season.

Fantastic hat trick from Suarez - all quality goals.

Remember the van Persie sublime volley earlier on in the season? Was that part of a hat trick?

I remember the RVP goal Joe - couldn't tell you if it was part of a hat trick though, not that it really matters.

Here's a cool one from a few weeks ago. Perfect - Left foot / right foot / header hat trick in 2mins 42 seconds LOL

If you mean the chip through ball from song into his path against everton then that was just 1-0. Of course he did a similar thing against Liverpool to make it 2-1 but I think the only hat-trick he's scored this season came against Blackburn when we won 7-1. None of his goals were quite as spectacular there as suarez's final chip.

looks a great prospect... but the keeper should have had the last one.

BREAKING NEWS!! Just heard on the radio that if United beat City tomorrow night they will be favourites to lift the Premiership trophy!!

I wonder which genius was responsible for coming up with that headline :bonk:

Chelsea hammering qpr right now. Seems like Chelsea are really finding their form lately which doesn't bode well for us next weekend. I can't see us getting past them.

Yeah, Di Matteo seems to have restored their confidence and they're scoring freely now. Torres his finding his feet again, too. Looking forward to your clash with them next week with Suarez enjoying his football too. Should be a good game to watch!

And how could I not mention Shrewsbury getting promotion at last?! Unbelievable news for them! Was absolutely buzzing about it yesterday! Even more crazy to think they'll be playing Portsmouth next season when just two years ago they were in league 2 and the premier league! And an undefeated home season for them as well :D:D

Kyle Walker's got his shooting boots on wow:clap:
