You mean you don't like Barton? :p

To be fair to Tarrabt, he's been a different player since Hughes took over, back to him Championship best. I don't think you'd sign him for the goals per se, but for his assists - he has vision (and the ability to go with it) - Van Persie would love it. Anyway, I'll stop trying to sell him to you - he's rubbish really! ;)

Taraabt is crap, seriously. No-one should buy him, would be money down the toilet. :suspect:

Hey Joe, sorry I missed our weekly predictor.

Was away since Friday on a location wedding...not sure we would have done ourselves justice with the results anyway.

Next week is a must!

Liverpool's last 12 Games - 6 points taken, 8 losses, 2 Draws, 2 Wins, 20 goals conceeded.

Whilst I wish them nothing but failure and wish to turn the screw - I'm almost at the point of feeling sorry for them.

From a selfish point of view I pray that Kenny stays in charge but there's no way the powers that be will put up with him or these results any longer.

They eventually stepped in and undermined him over the whole Suarez thing but enough is enough.

His post match interviews are Insuffereable and cringeworthy to say the least.

Only Wolves have won fewer points than them in 2012. If it was last season I'd feel sorry for them. 'King' Kenny and Suarez have put rest to any favour I had for them though :nono:

I know, I forgot all about it too!

Says the guy who still bangs on about Ronaldo
The 'Suarez Thing is part of a current issue, King Kenny's interview performances and he is a current player.

Bangs on?

Do a search for username "joescrivens" keyword "ronaldo"

there are 3 posts in the whole time I have been a member on TP - Is that what you call "bangs on"?

p.s. I joined in 2009 so thats an average of 1 mention of ronaldo per year

I only made reference to the 'Suarez thing' because I was talking about Kenny's overall time in charge and like it or not that remains one of his key cock ups.

or his post match interview was pretty mumbled.

But this week he would have been justified in blaming bad luck - Liverpool should have had 2 penalties and one Newcastle goal was offside. Poor old KK. He looks like his chalfonts are playing up too.

i don't think the second goal was offside - it was a second phase of play by which time cisse was onside.

sometimes you just don't get the luck of the ball. No big drama, the team will bounce back eventually

it's your favourite topic at the moment Phil, anyone would have thought Suarez racally abused you!:lol:

I only had to look back 2 pages and thought that'd do - 50% record is good enough for me

Jeez! And people call me pernickety ;)

Suarez isn't a favourite topic of mine just now. As I said, I only mentioned him because it is/was a key part of Kenny's stint in charge.

Liverpool's form on the other hand is a favourite topic of mine as apart from the title race / relegation battle it's one of the main talking points in the premier league at the moment.

well, it would appear otherwise, the amount of times you have brought up the whole suarez racism thing.

Suarez is one of those players that because he is exceptional and has controvery around him people always like to talk about him, it was the same with ronaldo ( look I said his name again - 4 times in 3 years now!!!!)

Players of that quality that also have less desirable personality traits are talked about more than others.

I think you're dreaming comparing Suarez to Ronaldo - not even in the same league! I grant you they are both annoying though!:p

According to our friends at Fantasy Football:

Helguson - minutes played 1137 - 8 Goals
Suarez - minutes played - 2100 - 7 Goals

We're generous down in Shepherds Bush, and, despite our current awkward predicament, will exchange Helguson for Suarez with a million coming our way to help you out in this difficult time! ;)

In all seriousness if you had a striker who could put the ball in the back of net..all this great build up play makes no odds if you don't score!

Im not saying suarez is as good as ronaldo - or as annoying actually. But I'm saying he has exceptional skill. You can go find stats all you like, all stats can be tailored to whatever argument you like.

I could say that man united are suffering their worst performance in a season in 10 years and then go and quote all the games they have lost in cups, positions in those compared to the last ten years etc. But Dinners would come in and say none of that matters, it's just league form that's important.

Stats are just numbers that marketing folk use to spin their case. Capello has the best record of games won for england than anyone post wartime - would you agree then he's been our best manager in those years? I doubt it.

also could you have said something more obvious here?:

Fingers crossed she sees a good show.....she's spent a good hour today looking at photos of Elland Road Stadium on Google images!!

The jury is still out on Neil.....he's inherited a very shaky team, and that shows with their recent results. But, he's got a good record of building strong teams fairly quickly, so as messy as this one currently is (lots of loan players that are disapearing soon too), we'll know by game 10 of next season whether he's still got his magic promotion touch!!

Oops.....

Sounds just like when he took over at QPR - we had loads of loan players, he got rid of most and just had a few key ones. If we release them, will not be surprised for you going for Kenny, Derry and Hill - though all are currently. amazingly playing for us and playing very well. I expect you'll be busy in the summer - we were lucky in that we got Tarrabt (17 goals and 17 assists) meant that basically the team was set-up to work hard and let him basically win games for us - slightly over-simplified but unlikely to be annother Tarrabt around - who knows though!

It was an awful display by Leeds apart from about 5 minutes in the first half.....Watford definitely deserved the win!! :'(

I think Warnock will be very busy over the summer.....there's no way he'd have taken the role without having been promised a decent pot of money to spend and he's pretty savvy in the transfer market!! ;)

I've genuinely lost track of who we have on loan and who's playing under a full contract....can't remember who we'll be saying goodbye to in a few weeks time!!

Do you want to exchange or not? :D

That's not all stats are for, of course...and of course you can't rely solely on either. However they do tell Suarez does not score enough. On the ball he looks great, I'd agree fantastic, but if you don't score...Let's see how he does next season.

i like helguson. But I wouldn't swap him for suarez.

The whole team is short on goals right now, we just can't buy a goal. It's a full issue across the whole team that needs looking at from the grass roots up in my opinion, I don't think it can be blamed on just one player. Next season we'll see what can be addressed

I've not mentioned him since the whole sorry affair Joe although a quick search might prove otherwise.

As for comparing him with Ronaldo. That's just laughable.

Since when was Suarez 'exceptional' ?

He might do the odd thing that makes him stand out in what is a poor team but even when you look at his individual performances - there's nothing worth writing home about.

a quick search most definitely proves otherwise, but lets just leave it there. No drama

24 games, 92 shots, 40 on target, 7 goals, 301 mins per goal, 3 assists = average

Since when was Suarez 'exceptional' ?

Or to answer this more accurately, I'd say - probably from birth!

Although I'm not sure how much players of quality like that are born with, practice, and develop through environmental conditions - probably a mixture of all :D:D:D

you were saying "Since when was Suarez exceptional" meaning, you didn't think he was and since when were people calling him that etc, and I just did the whole Naked Gun thing and pretended you were asking literally and said "from birth" blah blah blah - that's all, it was just me breaking your balls. :help::help:

wow, tough crowd

Anyone else think the 'headbutting' incident yesterday, the 'victim' went down a little way too easily?

I think it was a definite sending off, purely for the movement of the head in such a confrontational and violent gesture, although I don't think he actually hit him and knocked him over.

Hope United get mullered tonight :D
