Him and lescott play well together. Jagielka is pretty inexperienced at this level, sticking him into a QF game is a huge gamble. Ok, jt is not the quickest but he reads game well, great clearence over the line, is good in the air at back and forward and although not captain is a leader. Our back line is pretty good so don't mess unless we get injuries. Despite all the possession Ukraine didn't have a load of good chances, mainly long shots.

JT got caught under the ball yet again so his reading of the game can't be that good and it technically wasn't a great clearance as it was over the line, in that way it failed to be a clearance. There was a time when this wasn't so much an issue but for the past year now for club and country it's becoming more of an issue and a concern. With all that possession that Ukraine had, a team like Italy, Germany or Spain would have fun.

This should be his last competition for Terry in an England shirt, Lescott has been the class defender for England so far and I take your point about Jagielka being inexperienced at the level and it would be a gamble now, but for the future should be looking at the likes of Jagielka and even though he's a right back, I have a memory of Micah Richards playing centre back when needed to.

I probably agree that this should be JTs last tournament - I would like to see Jagielka and Lescott as out 1st choice moving forward, although Jones could be an option. Richards I really think should have gone as 1st choice RB or even cover in centre.

I dont think terry has been all bad, he finished the season playing with broken ribs so of course he may not be 100%, yes he has made mistakes but I recall lescott messing up v QPR on last day.

The Ukraines were offside, so why should it have been 1-1?

Linesman never put his flag up, so it's should've been a goal.

Just imagine same situation at England's end, very much doubt you'd be shouting offside then :-D

That might be so, but he was still offside, so in this case, two incorrect decisions, led to the correct outcome.

Doubt it. I'm Welsh and wouldn't have a given a toss if they'd been knocked out last night

Good news! It only takes England benefitting* for Sep Blatter to see how wrong it is not to have goal-line technology :D

*even though it was an offside cross

How that idiot has not been arrested for corruption yet is amazing? Completely clueless too, but typical of the man. We lose out in WC and he thinks everything is fine. We benefit then it has to be bought in asap. Totally anti-English.

And a fourth official on the byline. What's the point if you can't spot what every other person watching did! Still Glad it failed;)

"that on-field racism could be corrected with a handshake'" A Sepp cure for world peace.

OK, lets hand it over to Platini once this duffer is finally casked.

“my personal opinion” differs from “my opinion as president” Great, at least Sepp was honest!

I've just been in to look at the fantasy football.

Looks as though you can set up your team again from scratch which is handy but the total budget is still £75m which is a bit mean considering most of the players left in the competition that will play are the most expensive ones.

How many knew it was over before the slo-mo..... I think you are giving the officials are hard time. Even the TV replay showed in was a narrow margin so how at full speed a human eye can spot it I don't know. The players did not even know for sure and that is usually a big give away at how close a call it was.

Linesman never called it a goal either so what's the difference?

Anyways the ball still went over ,at least I was right on one count !

Ok ,I admit I was mistaken on offside(had another look). On the other hand the ball still went over the line .

Do you have to start again from scratch? or can you just transfer out the ones you dont want

You could keep all 11 you currently have or pick an entirely new 11, until the first qualifier tomorrow you can make unlimited transfers and after that you're limited to 10 to see you through to the final.

You know how you can (or could anyway) change your captain every day if you wished.......

What happens to any points if for example you had Ronaldo as Captain tomorrow then made a German player your captain when Germany played and then a Spanish player the next day and so on ?

Any points you've had are already counted, you won't lose double points from the previous day by changing your captain for the next game :)

So unless a player gets negative points it always pay to have a captain every day.

A couple of the tabloids are claiming that Rangers are interested in buying Bury as a route into the Epl:cuckoo:

Now that's Fantasy Football

Correct!

Joe - what are you hiding on the FF by the way? Everyone else has made their team public :D

Actually I didn't realise there was a private setting until tiler pointed it out, I just assumed I couldn't click on my team in the leader board cos it was me who was signed in. But then seeing how curious it made him made me decide I'd keep it that way, purely to irritate :D:D

So after the group stages here is where the standings are, looks like roger is steaming ahead in 1st place

Now onto the next stage, predicting the winner and score. 2 points for the correct score and 1 point for correctly choosing the winner

Here's mine for the QF

Czech Republic - portugal - 0-2
Germany - greece - 3-0
France - Spain - 2-1
Italy - England - 2-2 (england go through on penalties)

I can't do any worse in the QF predictions than the league or fantasy, can I

QF Predictions

Czech Republic 1 - 1 Portugal (Portugal to go through)

Germany 2 - 1 Greece

France 0 - 1 Spain

Italy 2 - 0 England

It is funny how you do not even try to have to irritate, you are a natural.

My team I swear my strikers go on strike when they see I have chosen them for my team.

Not sure I will change my team as they deserve to be bottom, I think I have Avram Grant as my manager.

How do I change my team in the ff ???

sorted

I just asumed Joe was keeping his team private in case he had a shocker and could announce at the end that his team was just some kind of experiment.

Looks like most of us have him though.

Annoying I had him at the start, dropped him then you can guess what happened, now he's back in my team.

I'm rubbish with predicting who'll do well in the football. I've managed to predict the last 3 RWC winners correctly tho, albeit never the 6N.

Manchester City have just unveiled Arsene Wenger as Manchester city's chief scout. Arsene iterated " it's a honour and a privilege too finally get recognition for the work I've been doing for several seasons "

That's too close to the bone to even be funny :(

Do City even need a scout ?

I thought they just waited for agents with wheelbarrows to drop by ;)

Made me laugh today...
