WOW!!!!

Now that was even funnier!!!!

I'm speechless.

Update my thoughts later when the turfing is done.

Wow, who'd have guessed that finish. Score and brothel comes to mind!

Well done to City, been great value all season, played some great stuff all year with Aguero,Silva & Toure.

I guess they'll kick on from here and get even stronger!

Incredible final day.

Arsenal had my heart in my mouth. A 70 point season is quite incredible after the start we had!

Delighted man city won and to snatch it last minute from united is brilliant!

Barton showed his true colours again today. Absolute ****ing disgrace to the sport.

Only results I'd like to see differently was Bolton beating stoke so qpr went down and newcastle to have finished above spurs but oh well.

Now I can support Chelsea in the final safe in the knowledge we have CL football and that they could steal it from Spurs which would be sweet! Newcastle is the team I feel for most in all of this. They played a remarkable season!

Oh and Liverpool losing to Swansea and finishing below Everton...brilliant!

:plusone:Except I'm chuffed that qpr managed to stay up. My Dad will be over the moon with that.

I'm still speechless

I have to say that even I wouldn't wish that kind of disappointment on any football fan or team as much as I hate united. That was just beyond painfull. Not funny at all.

I've resisted the temptation to jump on the "we hate Barton" bandwagon, especially since he upped his game under Hughes but his actions today prove he's still the same thug he used to be.

Congrates to Man City, can’t take the honour away from them, albeit it just on goal difference.
Barton should have never done what he done, but then again Tevez threw the first blow.
44yrs hey :gag:, lets see how many more they can win, lets see if they are as lucky next yr as they were this yr with those few injuries they had.
Lets see if next yr Balotelli and Tevez chuck there dummies out of the pram and rule the club like they have this yr.

I am not bitter, BUT DAM :bang:...........

Aye, right

It was a sore one though.

I wish City had just romped that game rather than letting me get my hopes up.

Haha a tweet by Joey Barton - "Why do people always want to solve any conflict with a fight? As a pacifist, I find it incredible"

Bet his Twitter is exploding right now!:lol::lol::lol:

44yrs hey :gag:
fair play to 'em ... 44 years 'of hurt' without a top title, so now they can re-establish their, errrrr, hang on ...............

1930 what!?!?!?

worse than Liverpool

No really.

I'm still thrilled they lost, it is just what united fans need to bring them down a peg or two and it really does mark an embarassing situation for united to have finished with no trophey at all this season.

But the the way in which it happened is very brutal. If City had thrashed qpr from half time I'd be laughing my head off, but I joked with my father in law that I hoped it ended with a last minute goal just to really rub salt in the wound. But hearing it happen that way, it just felt painful for the united fans. Too harsh.

Any real football fan can sympathsise with that ending, even if it was to united.

You have to give qpr credit for holding them fo r so long with 10 men, I thought they battled brilliantly.

All in all the most dramatic ending to a season for some years! Bring on the next one!

Surprise, surprise, the barton boo boys are out having finished with Terry - like these are the only players to have been sent off in similar circumstances. I mean, the likes of Keane, Viera, Keown, Vinnie Jones, Duncan Ferguson etc... never put a foot wrong.

Amazing day though, not quite up to the 1989 season but close! Gutted for Man U as I wanted them to win, and not City, and it wouldn't have been so bad if Bolton had won.

.

so you think it was fair enough that after getting the red card he then kneed a player and then also tried headbutting one?

You want him at arsenal? I think qpr will be selling him for a few pounds. Pretty sure wenger isn't stupid enough to buy him though

Congratulations City, QPR and ARSENAL! Always had a soft spot for QPR, dating back to the 70's. City, thought you blown it, well done. Now! There's Only one team in London lol I'd rather be a Gooner than a ***. Hahahah lolll

He is not the only player to do that - even Keegan has been sent off for fighting - but people seem to think he is the only player to do that. That sort of thing happens many times a season across the leagues. Yes, he was a bit silly doing that, bit frustrated that Tevez got away with his foul play. But we will see players doing similar next season, and in any case, was he any worse than the type of leg breaker challenge you see week after week, including Gerrard?

I for one would rather be kicked like aguero than have my leg broken in 2!

Unless it's an underhand way of highlighting the fact the that Liverpool won the Carling cup, I've no idea why you keep talking about it being embarrassing for United to finish without a trophy as it clearly wasn't. Please don't tell me it was because Evra said so etc etc.;)

At the end of the day City deserved the title as they finished top but United finished with a very respectable points tally and would have been Champions were it not for a very late goal in the City game. Very fine margins = understandably dissapointed but certainly nothing to be embarressed by.

Anyway, I'll not be thinking of next season for a while as we have the Euro's first. I'm not going into that with much optimism if I'm honest but you never know.

Any real football fan .....

Joe. Outside your family, you appear to have no idea what football is about.

Again, well done citeh, just been laughing at your City Hall photo op .... this citeh hall is yours

So because other players in the past have done similar it makes it ok?

Since you only count the premier league and don't think the other competitions are relevant I can see why you think that. Finishing close 2nd is not embarassing.

But since I value the other competitions as well as the PL, I think the overall result of ending a season with no trophies and the performances in those other competitions, particularly europe - on a club of man u's stature is embarassing for them. But we differ in our opinions.

But since I value the other competitions as well as the PL ...............

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...................

Thank christ I was dumb enough to chose Scotland as my national team. No more Joe for a few months

Disappointed to have lost at the death like that but....

:banana::banana::banana::banana::banana:

When we went 2-1 up my little boy wondered what I was doing bouncing up and down like an idiot, quietly as I could as his mum was sleeping!

Very proud of that performance - happy in the end as wanted a City to win the League, but not at our expense.

If you are a City fan, what a way to win it - much better than giving us a 6-0 drubbing. I hope no City fan left the ground early....

I was nervous when we were losing and Bolton winning - it's been emotional!

Liverpool losing has cost me £140 on a 6 game accumulator.....but seeing Fergie with a face like a slapped arse was absolutely priceless!!

I'll happily lose any bet for that!! :D

I don't only count the Premier League Joe.

Yes we've had disapointing results in the cup competitions but our performance in the Premier League this season means our overall season isn't embarrassing.

I think all we disagree on - is the definition of embarrassing.

Well it's something that will always happen, and it just frustrates me that if Barton or terry see red then they get slated while other players do the same without the slagging off.

You cannot call finishing 2nd on goal difference on 89 points embarrassing. They finished 19 ahead of the next team and 37 ahead of Liverpool. I would rather arsenal finished 3rd than come 8th and a carling cup.

But none of them did it today do that's why they aren't being slagged off today. I'm sure the day they did it they were.

Last week when Suarez hit out he got slagged off. When Rooney did the infamous elbow he got slagged off. When easier kicked Carroll he got slagged off.

Read my post. I'm counting the whole season. Not just the pl. I already said there is nothing embarrassing about finding 2nd. But to not get a single trophy in 5 competitions for a team like united is embarrassing for them ...... In my opinion.

Coming 2nd was the only good thing they did all season.

I guess the argument is, is the Premier League as good as it's ever been?

Are Man U the team they were a couple of years ago or so? The've managed to easily finish 2nd behind a Man City team which for all the world should have had the Prem sown up, and almost had it snatched from them at the 11th hour.

With Arsenal finishing 19 points behind in 3rd in a season where the Arsenal fans have been calling for 'Clueless' Wengers head, and the likes of Spurs who were being championed as potential League winners back in February along with Newcastle and the ever stuttering Chelsea being effectively blown away by the top two, you have to ask if the Premier League is as good as it was and if Man U's performance in Europe this year has actually shown them up for the team they really are, and the Prem for becoming a weaker league than it was.

Very good points.

Personally, I think United have done a fantastic job. I'm not sure if they'd have done so well if it was Spurs or Newcstle that had the massive influx of funds to make the charge that City have, but we'll never know.
Saying that, I will step down a little from simply accusing them of buying their triumphs (I bet there are loads of people that have already forgot they won the FA cup last year).

In my opinion, the premier league being so open and unexpected is precisely what makes it so fantastic. In no other league are there so many unexpected results because 'ordinary' teams deliver extraordinary performances. Look at Norwich and Swansea for the perfect examples of that. Just come up from a league below and raised their game week in and week out to give every team a run for their money.

If anything is the downfall of the premier league, it's that they don't give the same respect to other competitions that they give the premier league. Even champions league games are often approached too light-heartedly by our strongest teams which I think is why the often get a surprise.

Whether one of our 20 top teams is among the finest in the world is another question, but in terms of entertainment value, competitive performances, and unexpected results we're second to none. There's still time for the CL Trophy to end up in English hands anyway, and with 3rd spot Arsenal's I sincerely hope it does!
