Yep. Or install Fuji X Raw Studio on your computer and do the same thing. I think it’s X Trans sensors only. But as always I stand to be corrected.

Thank you all re advice re film simulations.

Had an ignoring in WEX Norwich a week or so ago and left without any progress. Went to Clifton Cameras in Cheltenham today and what a difference - the guy I chatted to - Mark - was absolutely great and the shop looked fantastic. Nothing was too much trouble.

Think I have decided on the Xt-5 rather than the Xt-50 more for the size than anything else. Need to consider what lenses I’m going to want and the order they need to come in, but now looking forward to the journey.

Yeah "vibrant Arizona", but with a couple of adjustments in acr, then saved as preset.

Had a go at that this morning and it's actually quite useful being able to use it on a large screen rather than just the cameras rear LCD. :)

I tried this also hoping to see the changes with a couple of test snaps yesterday. I can bring the pictures up but sadly you need the camera attached to make changes.

That's because it uses the processing engine in the camera (rather than a seperate computer simulation) to undertake the film simulation process. So the end result is the same as if you undertook the action in camera.

Don’t forget the benefits of being able to save your favourite results to use again and again. I used to have quite a bank available to me. Didn’t find the tethering particularly vexing. And having a larger screen and more friendly layout was a bonus.

I have the Shortstache Everyday filter (I think @LeeRatters has similar). To be honest I ve not used it much - should try it more - it certainly works

Give me to the end of the weekend and I can set up some comparison photos (assuming weather allows); No filter, Tiffen 1/4 Bkack ProMist and Shortstache Everyday

I do have the Everyday, yes. I also haven't used it much. I bought it mainly for casual car meets - about the only time I use a CPL aside from water - but because I enjoy using the OVF obviously it's a bit unpredictable.....
 
I've not tried any pro mist filters, sort of doubt I'll use them much so might give a cheap one a try.
Any experience of cheapies and any wisdom about what might be a good one to start with-I may have a look at Temu to see if there are any sets of white and black ones.
Can anyone help please?

I have a k&f concept 1/8 on my 35mm f1.4
NanoK series. They call it "black diffusion".
Subtle and cheaper than most. I'm pretty happy with it.
I do have a super cheap DIY hairspray one (had an old UV filter, so thought I'd give it a go). That works pretty well too ;)

I have one of those K&F filters too, it doesn't affect colours or anything... if I was buying it again I think I'd go slightly stronger, tbh.

I use the same. I have a couple of 1/8 strength that live on my 23mm f2 and Viltrox 27mm. It's subtle enough to stay on all the time, but noticeable enough to make a difference at night or on specular highlights.

K&F ones are known to be slightly more subdued than other brands, so if you want a pronounced effect the 1/4 might be better.

The Nano K series are great value. As far as I know the only difference between the series' is the coatings. I have CPLs, variable ND, and black pro mist all Nano K series and never had any issues.

I also tried a DIY one with an old UV filter - but I used black spray paint. I just spritzed into the air and wafted the filter through as it fell. Took 4-5 spritzes but the result was pretty decent TBH. Certainly good enough to see if I wanted to spend money on a proper one.

I agree. I think their filters are very good vfm.

Hairspray was the same principle (wafting), and yeah, it takes a few goes to get the effect you're after ;) Possibly less messy than black spray paint too .
 
Cheapskate alert - I have ordered one of these as at £4.27 it's worth a try to see if it's something I'll use enough to warrant a decent one...

Easy cheap way to test ;)
 
Got an XT4 grip issue, it focuses when pressed but does not trigger the shutter.

Cleaned all the contacts and tried again, still with the same result, its little used since new, any ideas?

T5`s don`t have power grips. What are you using?
