What do you think? It’s better than the really negative reviews I’ve seen, considering it’s a plastic build. Hope they start doing a more ‘pro’ version of it in the future.I did GAS I won it on Sunday but wanted to wait until it had arrived and been checked before announcing.
Sold as new with less than 50 shots taken. Price paid £503 delivered..

Focus peaking with manual lenses has just suddenly stopped happening. I've checked its enabled etc. Its bizarre.
What obscure setting have I accidentally hit to turn this off...
Yeah, price is unfortunate. I just think those complaining just don’t get it, which is fine. If it’s not for them there’s no need to condemn it just because it’s not a pro grade camera.@bumper
When I took it out the box apart from it not being cold I couldn’t have told you it was plastic.. it’s a solid little thing fer sure..
Have only taken a few double shots and ran a quick 36 film through it, developing certainly is cute.. will give a good test at the weekend. IQ seems very good although that was low down on the list of priorities.
If this was rrp £399 there would be at lot less negativity, it’s the only thing that is against it if you ask me. But I get it, it’s not for everyone but I’m glad they have done it. I literally mainly use Dazzcam Pro now on iPhone so this Fuji is definitely for me.
Untitled by APM Photography, on FlickrI didn’t have it set to the rear dial; I changed it for something else. When I put it back…I can get it working. Pretty dumb!If in MF mode, you can just hold down the rear dial to cycle through the different focusing aids.
I think in the menu there are different areas in which you select which focusing aid you use, and whether or not it's enabled. Holding down the rear dial takes care of both, since it cycles through peaking/pentaprism/split/none.
I usually have my X100V in my hydration pack, when I'm out on the MTB. It is significantly smaller than the X-T2/23f2 combination that I used to sometimes take out with me.Anyone ever played with the smaller X-Trans sensor cameras, like the XQ2 or X20/30? Still looking for/considering a cheaper option for every day carry and something very slim to have on the bike. XQ2 is a great bike option; might not be much better than an iPhone but that zoom could come in handy!
As for the X30; looks like a lovely unit but wondering if it'd just be better to get an X-E3 or X100F...
I didn't know you could do that.Cheers. Yeah, I was aware of the sims built into LR. Adobe have made a good job those in fairness. My question really related to baking the simulation in at point of shooting so intent was carried through to LR even in the raw file, without having to import a jpeg. Looks like I have that covered now. Cheers.

Just a note on the baking stuff into the RAW file to carry into LR. It seems it will carry some stuff through but not others. So far I can see it will retain the film simulation and any crop you've applied. I think it might also carry in cool tones on black and white images. But for some reason it doesn't bring in highlight and shadow levels. So if you've shot an image with those cranked up a bit in camera for quite a contrasty look, the image that is pulled into LR will look very flat. It's been interesting messing around with this but I think it's pointing me back to just shooting JPEG + raw and just deal with increased number of files.
Just about to order one, was going to go the 16-55 Mk11 route but fancy trying the Sigma as its pretty sharp wide open which will suit me..Anybody got their hands on the Sigma 17-40mm yet? I'm quite tempted by it... Only problem is that I probably don't actually need one

Thanks. I've finally pre ordered one with the lens in black. Hoping for it sometimes in mid August. I've been down the fuji shop in London about 4 times before pre ordering.Depends on if you want a rangefinder form factor Robert. I believe (stand to be corrected) its roughly a X-T50 in a different form factor.
It seems rather expensive for what it is but the only other option for a rangefinder with interchangeable lens is the X-Pro series. A used X-Pro 3 is roughly £1200 without a lens and when the X-Pro 4 does arrive I would imagine that would be close to 2k.
No doubt it will be a very capable camera and if your set on a rangefinder and you want to swap lenses it makes total sense.
It seems a price increase is coming for a lot of Fuji stuff as well.
John Lewis is still promsing delivery on the August the 14th as well
Try sticking the x100f in P mode, I still use this a lot on all my Fujis.Wonder if anyone has any thoughts on the X-T100, X-T200 or X-T20 in 2025?
The long story and the reason for asking is that we're on holiday at the moment and my other half, who likes taking 'proper' photos but is not interested in the technicalities at all won't use my XT4 or X100F because they're a faff. I do agree with her. If she wants to take a pic with either of them, I have to fanny about making sure focus mode is appropriate and exposure settings are going to work etc and I can see the enthusiasm draining from her face! Years ago, we bought a Nikon D5000 prior to our honeymoon. It got me heavily into the nerdy aspect of photopgraphy but my wife loved just being able to pick the camera up and stick it on auto or sport mode, or portrait mode or whatever and just take a photo. I'm half thinking of buying her something modern and a bit smaller that would do similar.
I do have an Olympus EM5iii that would fit the bill but I actually use that camera a lot for when I'm travelling really light and though I'd be happy for her to use it, it would still always be dialled in for me with whatever weird restrictive lens I happen to have on at the time etc. Buying another Olympus (maybe an EM10 xxx) would be an option but I would also like to explore the Fuji options. Or maybe I should buy something totally different that has no lens compatibility with my own set up to avoid any chance it becomes mine!
But anyway, what are people's thoughts on some of the more beginner-friendly Fuji options? Min. requirements would be USB charging, an EVF and very straight-forward, effective full auto mode/s. Probably keeping body only budget to under £300. I think that basically means X-T20, X-T100 or X-T200?
My X-T20 was perfect; I didn’t really need to upgrade. People take excellent pictures with older bodies; the age isn’t much of an issue. Worth noting that X100F = X-T20; same sensor and internals.Wonder if anyone has any thoughts on the X-T100, X-T200 or X-T20 in 2025?

Just checked. I stand corrected.USB charging. Not sure many older models support this.
My first Fuji was an X-T20 with the 18-55 kit lens, and I really loved it. If your wife wanted to get away from auto mode it's very intuitive for that, too.
Try sticking the x100f in P mode, I still use this a lot on all my Fujis.
You can let the camera do most of the work

Thing is, they all operate the same - there’s not a huge difference between Fujis in terms of menus etc. I guess XT4 doesn’t have an auto mode. I don’t much like the auto modes but they’re still better than a phone
Just checked. I stand corrected.
I used full auto on mine when I had it. There's a nice feature too where you hold down a button (possibly the rear dial, but I can't remember) to change the settings but keep the same exposure, so even if your wife is using it in auto she could still change the depth of field etc. if she wanted to.Thanks. In this case, the full auto mode is exactly what's needed above all else. Trouble is, I'm probably asking the wrong people as to how well that works as I suspect, as you allude to, nobody on here probably uses it!
