The Fabulous Fuji X owners thread

Did you use a film sim for post processing? Looks really good.

Thanks, it was processed initially with Lightroom (exposure/shadows/black/white levels), then with SIlver Efex using the Fine Art High Key example as a base, then I applied some local adjustments (mainly to the front of the car), brought it back into LR, applied a small texture change to a couple of local areas and then to PS to add the border, back to LR and exported. It sounds a lot but only took 2-3 mins.

It was a mini originally. ;)

Well in order to be transparent, I have previously owned one :ROFLMAO:

I'm more likely to chop the X-T3 + 100-400 in for something with faster AF, than buy more lenses for the X-T3....but such things will have to wait.
It's a fact of life that we all come back to Fuji at some point, there's someone lurking in here lately that's bought the X100 VI and not used it yet several weeks later and another who keeps looking at the X100 VI sat in the box wondering if they will finally get banned for excessive returns, they shall remain nameless :ROFLMAO:

I've still got my original X100 (bought new in 2012) :)

I like the handling on the X-T3, and have had no issues with battery life (indeed with the grip, I've shot over 4,500 shots before changing any batteries), its a lovely camera, I just would like slightly faster AF, to get more keepers rather than a sequence where every shot is not quite in focus. When it does get focus, I'm happy with the results. I occassionaly look at an X-H2S but for that sort of money I'd expect Sony AF speed and its still not there.

I may change my gear a bit, but at least I do use what I have!

That's possibly in the pipeline. I keep looking but making excuses.........

I was like that (for years!), I had a Leica Q2 on loan for a day (Leica Manchester), after I destroyed my first GFX50S, but I felt the dynamic range and the RAW files weren't anywhere near as flexible as the GFX (I also had an X100F at the time), so I bought another GFX50S.

But with the release of the Q3, things changed, there were enough incremental upgrades, plus better dynamic range, and I felt that I had to bite the bullet, so I sold the GFX and the X100F and bought the Q3. Its an amazing piece of kit, and a joy to use, nothing gets in the way of the photo taking experience, and IMHO its a significant step up from the X100 range, not that the X100V/VI aren't capable cameras, but the Q3 is definitely in a different league. But if you are a colour JPG shooter, I would stay in the Fuji eco-system. The Leica colour JPGs are disappointing, the mono's are much better.

The lens on the Leica is astonishing, it continues to amaze, its super sharp even wide open, but given the price tag you'd expect nothing less.

But its a slippery slope.......as I added the Q3 43 a couple of months ago, and bought a D-Lux 8 100th Anniversary for my wife. The Q3 43 was a bit of an accidental purchase (I spent much more time deliberating on the initial Q3 purchase), but encouraged by my wife, I don't regret it.

Yes all of the above is a lot of ££££, and I feel privieiged (and fortunate) to own it, it has meant that I've sacrificed a lot of other camera equipment to get there, still selling some Fuji X stuff.

One day I'll take the plunge. Got a nice pension due soon, maybe an m11 monochrom or safari. Love the olive green.
My wife can forget her new kitchen and conservatory. I'll risk not speaking to her for 2 years. Win-win :ROFLMAO:

Q2 Monochrom Reporter Edition - gives you the mono and the green, but with AF

I did the kitchen a few years ago, cost more than my Leica kit................................

I doubt that will make it more palatable to her. I need to grow a bigger set or think of a really really really good excuse to give her. Something like an incurable illness may not even sway it my way.

A candid street style Snap taken from under an arch captured people walking around a coastal fish market area. The area also has several souvenir shops, pubs, and restaurants.
