The Fabulous Fuji X owners thread

Having recently decided to pick one of these up from WEX tomorrow, this was exactly the sort of thing I didn't want to - but probably needed to. I hadn't read that focussing was a problem with these - Back to the drawing board I guess.
Your mileage may vary of course - I don’t remember being this frustrated with my X-T20 but probably did. I think I was expecting a certain level of improvement which I didn’t get - which is testament to how good the older models are. I should’ve gone for an X-T30II probably.

Don’t let the testimony of a single (admittedly beginner) person sway your decision

Got some new trainers, and figured they might like a pic ;) I used @Garry Edwards hard lighting challenge tutorial for reference. Little bit of PS.

I can't claim any of the credit, but you do seem to have a pretty good understanding of lighting now:)

I can't comment on the perceived focusing issues, but that's probably because I use Nikon :exit:

Thanks, Garry :) always appreciated.

Yeah I was a bit too close tbh, so the dof was a little shallow and I kinda aimed for the most general point.

Anyone recommend a 135mm fixed focal length for the X system please . . . ?

Cheers
Peter
I dont think there is a native one Peter, Viltrox has hinted they will bring out their new 135mm f1.8 out on the X mount this year but they have also said they have no plans to do this.

You could always get the Canon 135mm f2 and a fringer adaptor by all accounts they seem to work well.

We must have been so close to each other down there  mind you it was a bit of a scrum at the end of Kinckerbrook

Fuji XT5 + 100-400mm

Well I’m still here!! Knickerbook just as much of a scrum today, currently at Druids and will move to Lodge (inside) around 4.30 - being here all 3 days has been nice, no need to rush and the opportunity to shoot different championships from different vantage points

VSCC at Prescott next Saturday I think

@bumper are we not getting any X Half samples fella?
My wife’s had it for days shouldn’t have shown her how to use it and charge it up. It’s probably gone now or it’ll come back broken :ROFLMAO:

Hope she doesn’t give it to me with 3000 JPEG’s to sift through!

Sounds like a given…

I’m pretty excited about the X-T1 release too! It seems like Fuji’s been steadily improving their cameras, and the X-T1 looks like a solid step forward—especially if they address the autofocus issues. I totally get the concern, though. It feels like Fuji’s been a little behind in that department compared to Olympus, especially when it comes to fast and reliable AF for action shots. But hey, they’ve nailed the image quality and colors, so I’m hoping they’ll keep making those improvements.

As for the X Pro 2, yeah, it’s definitely overdue at this point. I love the design and the whole hybrid viewfinder setup, but it’d be nice if Fuji dropped a flagship soon to fill that gap.

And totally agree on the 2.8 zooms—those would be a game-changer, especially for anyone who wants that versatility with fast apertures. Fingers crossed they’re not too far behind!
