Thanks. I think I'll leave upgrading until after this weekends event, but that's good to know.

No random crashes or anything? (I seem to recall a bad X-T3 firmware a few years back...

This has been sat unprocessed in my Lightroom catalog since last summer (going on a workshop 2 days before a busy holiday isn't the best idea...), but as I will be mountain biking near here at the weekend it reminded me to process the shot.

Sounds like a plan :)
No, no crashes or any sign of quirky bugs. I do update mine via SD card though, and not WiFi ;)

(y) that is comforting. Whilst I'm happy using my X-T3 or 2 as a backup camera, I have gotten used to the improved Eye A/F.
I don't update via wifi and doubt I will until forced, although the changes to the wifi update process with 3.01 do seem to make it a safer option.

I haven't looked into it but I would guess that the process from wifi will just copy the update to the card, then update from there, so in reality it's no less safe.

Part of the new menu update has firmware update in it now (spanner section), so who knows.
 
@jimmyjamjojo Not been to Shirakawa-go (yet), been to Kanawaza and Matsumoto which are nearby. Not been to Takayama either. Both are off the Shinkansen route so harder to reach. Not sure what to do in Shirakawa-go though, besides photographing the local houses. It seems a VERY small place, like Narai-juku.

It is quite small, but it's spread out enough that a pleasant stroll around will take a couple of hours.

There's a few shops near the front, a couple of shrines towards the back, and the large hill/viewpoint to head up. You can go inside a few of the houses to learn more about how they're built and what life would have been like during that time, plus several places to get icecream/dango/snacks.

It's very much a half day thing. We swung by on our way from Takayama to Kanazawa.
 
Back in the Fuji family again.

Last one i had was the XT-2 so the XT-5 does seem a fair upgrade to be honest.

Love my Canon gear for work but there is something about the X series that's just fun.

Grabbed the 16mm f1.4 as a starter so will probably grab a zoom next just for versatility.

I'm probably missing something simple here, but having a weird issue with my x100vi...

I've set up auto iso 1, 2, and 3 to all have base iso 160 as the minimum, then max iso of 1600, 3200, and 6400 respectively.

1 and 2 have a minimum shutter speed of 1/125.

Just tested auto iso 1 on a bright corner of the lounge and it gives me iso 250, 1/30.
Same goes for auto iso 2 too, they're just disregarding the minimum shutter speed. I understand it does that once the iso is maxed out but it's nowhere near that.

Side by side, my XT3 behaves as expected.

Is there some other thing that overrides it that I don't know about?

My X100f works just fine in this regard. I've got a solution if you don't mind, which is a swap......

This is from a response to a similar question on DP Review

For the minimum shutter speed, when the camera reaches several limits ( here max ISO and minimum shutter speed), then it has to break one limit to get the correct brightness. Fuji choice is to break the speed limit in this case, not sure this is a wise choice but this is the way it works.

But it's not hitting max ISO, nowhere near it. Max ISO is set to 1600 and it's giving me shots at ISO 250 that are below the speed limit.

I’m looking at adding or changing to XH2 or Panasonic S5II from Canon R6. Yeh I liked the feel of my old XT3, just feels a pleasure to shoot with.

Did consider the XH2 but as i kept my R3 and 1 Series cameras for sports i didn't need the bigger frame buffers and preferred the dial controls and smaller form of the XT-5 to be honest. Remember my XT-2 being so much fun to shoot with and so far have been blown away by the colours and image quality but now fancy a few more lenses with better sharpness to get the best from the new sensor.

It would be nice to see how a 200mm F2 and a 150-600 mated with a XT5 (XH2) would perform at a BSB meeting!
