The Fabulous Fuji X owners thread

I have to admit I am wondering whether a £2000 camera is the best use of cash at the moment given the state of the economy, that said the way the pound is going there could easily be price hikes incoming!

Any recommended 3rd party NP-W235 Batteries? Would rather try and save a few quid v the actual Fuji ones!
I bought a DuraPro one with a double charger from Amazon for about £28. Seems ok, the charger is slow but does the job. I already have two official Fuji NP-W235 batteries so this is my emergency spare. Doesn't last as long as the Fuji battery but I wouldn't expect it to for 1/3rd of the price. My X-T4 accepts it with no issues so far.
I use the Hahnel ones.
For some reason they are exactly the same price as official Fuji batteries for the NP-W235. For the same price surely everyone buys the 1st part Fuji battery

Just heard from LCE, my 20-35 will be available for me to collect on Thursday, apparently the XH2S will be the same as all the other new launches. They will have them by Wednesday so they can send out any mail ordered ones for arrival on Thursday.

Not heard from WEX but I pre-ordered almost as soon as available for the XH2 so I'm hopeful for Thursday!
I'm actually exciting about a bit of new kit for the first time in a while, been looking at some sample RAF files and the detail is incredible

So what lenses are you planning to use on it Chris?

Not 100% sure yet, I've got a 23mm f1.4 and thats it for AF. I've also got an MD Mount 70-210 f4 lens that I'll adapt, its been excellent on higher MP bodies before (42mp A7R3) and I don't mind manual focus for a lot of my shooting.

Really looking for a 16-55 but I have to admit having looked at some shots with the 16-55 its not as impressive as the primes!

Anyone use an X-S10? Wondering how they compare to other X bodies

I have the X-S10 along with the T3, the little S10 reminds me of the old X-H1 but without the top screen. Just the one card slot plus not heavy at all with my lenses in my signature on.

Thanks. Trying to decide on a camera that's an everyday carry but not sure I could live without ibis these days and want something with interchangeable lenses. Thinking an X-S10+33mm would be a nice walk around.

Yes. It is a much underated little powerhouse of a camera.

It has exactly the same IQ as my X-T4, has a very effective IBIS system and is much lighter and more compact than any of the other current X family bodies.

Design wise it is a mini X-H2s with PASM dial rather than the traditional FujiFilm dials, same swivel screen mechanism and is a really lovely camera to use. The viewfinder and its eyecup are the only weakspots for me but that is comparing it to an X-T4 and an X-H2S.

It is not WR, has one SD card slot and its buffer can get bogged down but overall its AF is excellent and its handling, and I use a SmallRig L bracket on mine, is both intuitive and comfortable.

I use a 70-300mm in the hills, (my back thanks me as it replaced an X-T4 and a 100-400mm), and a 35mm F1.4 round town . It is perfect at both.

Its a cracking camera

The XF33mm works like a dream on the X-S10, it was because of the IBIS that I got one as I like to test my self taking shots one handed.

Little outing with the V yesterday - drove round the M25 for charity with hundreds of other Volkswagen owners. Only managed some nothing special grab shots as we were leaving Clackets Lane services.

When I loaned an X-T4 and lenses I took the majority of images on the 33mm so think that's probably the lens to go for. But not sure I can justify going for an X-T4 so the X-S10 looks like a possible. I'd be better off with a Nikon Z but the crop sensor models don't currently have IBIS and the lenses for full frame are then larger. All a trade off so trying to see where I land in the end :)

I very nearly got the X-T4 but what stopped me was I had one when I was with Fuji, but wanted smaller so got the X-S10 and very pleased with it.

Still on the fence about getting one but I am mirroring your thinking. The latest primes do look nice. Do you have the Viltrox 13mm?

I got one. I really like it as long you don't need 2 slots and weather sealing imho it's a bit of a no brainer. The menu button is a bit difficult to find and press without looking they are virtually flush with body.

Just to show the 10-24 can be used for normal viewing.

I know that many think the E Type to be the most beautiful of the Jaguars (and Enzo Ferrari, who knew a thing about beautiful cars, thought it was the most beautiful car in the world) but this XK140 is, for me, the very essence of Jaguar.

Menace and elegance in equal proportions. Gorgeous.

The Minolta MD will produce some pleasing images, but there is no way that it is capable of resolving 40MP (APSC) (60MP FF equivalent) - I have used a lot of adapted glass on the GFX, and this has big pixels in comparison (equivalent to 12MP APSC), and I reckon only one Canon Lens I had (EF100mm F2.8 L Macro) came remotely close to native Fuji glass in centre (FF) sharpness. The adpated glass though could create some beautifully rendered images.

Its quite scary to think that a second user GFX50S + second user GF45mm F2.8 can be had for the same money as an X-H2+XF23mmF1.4 (new) - If I wanted resolution, dynamic range and overall Image Quality I know what I would plump for, that said the X-H2 has benefits in AF and lighter weight.

I didn't keep my 13mm but I've got a discount code to use so might see about getting one again, be interested to see how it handles 40mp!

IMO I think the Fuji primes are a joy to use, can't wait till the XF23mm f1.4 arrives.

The new primes look excellent but I managed to grab an "old" 23mm for less than £300 on eBay so I'll content myself with that!

No it probably isn't but like I said I've had some incredible results with it so I'm sure I'll be happy enough, I just don't use a telephoto enough to justify buying a native one.

Don't tempt me on an GFX, I loved the IQ from the one I had a few years ago!

Quick favour time guys! Can someone post a photo of the uk adapter for the AC-5VJ battery charger please. My XT-4 which I bought earlier in the year only had the eu adapter in the box. Fuji support have been helpful and now supplied 2 adapters but neither of them fit. The difference in the one they supplied is obvious to one I saw on a unboxing video for the Xh2s. With the Xt4 and Xh2s using the same battery charger. I need a photo to reference while I am trying to source an adapter here in the UK.

Fuji support don't appear to have any to hand and was wondering on your thought as to who else I could contact to source the elusive adapter. Camera was brand new from LCE Southampton and they contacted there rep when I informed them it was not in the box but the rep also sent the wrong adapter.
Pretty frustrating such a simple thing is so hard to find :(

Thanks in advance!

P9270251.jpgHope this helps @Speedy136. Very suprised the FujiFilm rep didn't send the correct one. It is just the UK 3pin slide-in adapter.

Got my first Fuji camera yesterday, the x100v, what a beautiful little camera!

Have some holidays planned and I usually take my Sony with the 35mm attached (or 25 / 55 ) but wanted something easier to pack and carry rather than taking the bigger camera everywhere, and the 35mm equivalent suits me just fine.

Looking forward to putting it to good use.

You will love it and its results are awesome.
I have a X100F but the lens is not as good as the X100V.
I am waiting for a refurb unit to appear in the Fuji shop.
