The Fabulous Fuji X owners thread

Ah no, I do appreciate the head's up :) I'm seeing a lot people chancing selling iffy gear for bloated prices too though, trying to take advantage of this situation - with more people looking to buy entertainment gear. I'm not very well versed on PC equipment but I've been doing my research and getting the gist of it all :)

Just like everything else at the moment mate, unfortunately. When searching as to what spec is actually needed for editing pix etc, GPU`s are pretty low on the needed list, as ram is the big boy factor. I keep looking at 1050ti`s and rx570`s, but don`t really need one. Debated for a long time too, on SSD drives, and again, same answer. If I was starting from scratch, then yes I`d go SSD, HDD route. I hope you find a solution soon mate :)

Aw man, just when I'm in bad need of a haircut! :ROFLMAO:

LOL that`s the advantage of me being a bald ******* ;) I wanna see those home style haircuts :D

I've bumped up my requirements :D I'm now looking at a couple systems with Ryzen chips and RX580/590 8GB GPU cards. Figure it's best to future proof a little or end up spending same again down the line. I have also always been a bit of a gamer, but gave in over time as any PC I owned was poor for that purpose because they had sucky GPU. I think with a decent set up I might dabble with some casual, at least, gaming again.

Y'know, I have been tempted to buy a head shaver, do the sides myself and get the missus to scissor chop the rest :D

Sounds good, and a good plan too. I`ve found steam a good platform for pc, and although the new games are just as expensive, the older one aren`t. Also they have silly deals now and again

Ha, good luck on finding anywhere that has anything in stock. If you do the sides, just carry on up `n` over the top ;)

Tesco have electric razors atm here, had one in hand today and really did ponder on it, but at €40 [could get 4x cuts at the Barbers if they were open!] I hesitated, beer seemed more of a priority :D

Fair play mate, on the beers ;) It`s not as if you were going out anywhere. Besides your missus might get better, given she`ll have a lot of time to practice ;)

I like me few cans on a weekend :) I don't get to the pub, even in better times, as herself hasn't been well in a long time, obviously I have to be much more careful atm when out and about. I am the only one really heads out of the house now, get the daughters to mind herself once I'm gone, and I only head out to do the necessaries, so a pack of beer is my little reward :D

Hi gang,

Mrs J got me weeding in the garden, so a good excuse to have a camera near by.

T3 & 35mm f1.4 with an extension tube...

Two lovely close up Fujigraphs, with plenty of detail and nice vibrant colours.

George.

So, I have a little issue. Not sure what I've done, but when I witch the T3 off it comes up and tells me it's looking for a smartphone to transfer the images to.

In the set up/connection setting menu, Bluetooth Settings, auto image transfer is off, smartphone sync is off.

Any ideas?

Happy Easter all - hope you are all making the best of today that you can.

I've been playing with composite images again this morning - not sure if this one truly fits the category for refractive art but the glass bottle certainly does through some light around when you shine a torch on it!

Also included a pull back shot to show the limited items I used to make the shot.

No idea I'm afraid, can only guess that maybe you have assigned this function on/off to one of the buttons and maybe accidentally switching it when turning off? Maybe double check that blue tooth or transfer isn't assigned to any of the fn buttons

Very nice Fujiograph, very effective & bang on challenge theme. Nice to see the pullback to show how you did the shot with such a simple set up.

George.

Thank you kindly George

After a couple epic fails for refraction, I resorted to plan Z, and gave up on that ;) Fortunately I think it came out ok

Very nice. That lens looks like a winner.

Selfie, with bad almost mullet hair - 35mm is widest I have so went for that moodier close up

Why a 'vain' selfie? Well F it, I've hated myself and had low self esteem for way too long now, last couple years that's changed - I've become a little more confident in myself and now I don't care how I come across, aesthetically at least - those who actually know me, know, I'm solid.

Nice one, mate. Lovin` that raised eyebrow

This is a very old one and before I started shooting with Fuji... I did this as a part of 'Distortion' assignment eight years ago so I know it won't count for the challenge this week but just thought i'd share it anyway. Must think of something new now.

That is awesome how did you do that

Andrew, I put some smarties into a 20-25cm deep square vase (any glass or perspex will do) and covered the top of the vase with another piece of perspex (cd holder, petri dish, glass or any transparent material can do but it has to be scratch free and quite thin). Next, using a pipette, I carefully placed droplets of water on top (which was tricky as sometimes they don’t hold shape) and smarties refracted in the droplets. I used macro lens on a tripod, this was shot at f13 but you can experiment to see what works best.

I might try one with daisies...

I find it great to put a face to a TP member, and that if I say so my self is a cracking image mate.

Well after yesterdays failings, I managed to get my arse into gear, and got some refractive inspiration :)

Little vase with torch aimed through it, creating more of an abstract, but I liked it.

And one with my lens ball, which actually is, if you look closley, my desk :)

Very nice Fujigraph, liking this one very much.

George.

Here is my half hearted attempt to recreate bubble refraction, this time using daisies as a background. As I don’t have a macro lens for my Fujix-t2, I attempted to take this with 18-135, zoomed in. Third photo is my pathetic attempt at manual focusing (I just can’t get to grips with it when it comes to electronic viewfinder) plus this lens is totally wrong for this kind of shot.

In the end, I resorted to Canon 5D mark iii and 90mm macro and the first two photos were taken with that set up. Not particularly great to say the least, it was difficult to focus on the flowers inside the bubbles as even the bubbles had bubbles! :ROFLMAO:
