Would any of you macro shooters know whether i'd get more magnification from the 60mm macro or the 11 or 16mm extension tubes? I have a macro assessment i need to take some images for and need to purchase one of these in the next week or so. I currently shoot with the 18-55, 56 and 90 if that makes a difference.
Scrap that guys. It seems the 18-55 can get to .97 at the wide end with the 16mm extension tube. More than enough for me.

i must admit to being very worried about lighting the subjects knowing almost nothing about macro.Worth noting that to get to 0.97 you will almost be touching the subject with the lens, which makes getting enough light on the subject a challenge.

It's a zoom though, you can zoom in a little and get more working distance. Does it have to be 1:1 or close as?
It is indeed, however I'm merely commenting on the maximum magnification of 0.97 which can only be achieved at 18mm. More working distance and more zoom gives less magnification,
Storm Gathering Over Swaledale by Stephen Lee, on FlickrA mono iteration from yesterday's trip to Swaledale. Loosely based on Acros+R in LR. (It was actually a lovely sunny day with distant black clouds!). X-T2 plus 10-24mm.

Thank you for a good detailed crit, George. Much appreciated.Absolutely "Excellent" Fujigraph Sir, great composition with a good lead in from the wall on the right to the two people, lovely light, and spot on exposure with fine detail in the highlights & shadows and a good full range of punchy mono tones.
George.

Loving the colour palette on this one Andrea. Helps that I have a soft spot for boats!I'm still getting to know my new X-T2 and this is only the third photo I've shared, but after several days of cloud and rain I couldn't resist stopping to capture this view today. X-T2 with the 18-55 f2.8-4 at 20mm.
