The Fabulous Fuji X owners thread

Oh, I'm a cheap sod (plus I don't think the XT20 purchase went down to well with the better half), so am looking at this at the mo: link

Edit: Just looked up the Metro case grip, they do look very nice, but as you say pretty pricey $79.99 on import, unless you found much better.
I use one of those, or something very like it, with my X-T10. Obvious advantages for tripod work, but I find the front bit improves handling off tripod as well.

Looks okay to me, I noticed today the Bluebells just starting to appear.

Sad to say I had a Tokina Canon version of that lens for a while, never quite took to it. Ended up with a Tamron version that blows it away. What are you finding you don't like about it ?

That's because that picture is with the Fuji lens! :-) Like I said, I'll try to post something in a bit...

Looks nice and sharp and a great subject ( kiddies are great )

Only slight thing is a look like there's some vignetting or is it just my blind eye :D

Well interestingly enough, the process of trying to put something together has convinced that maybe the Tokina is OK after all!

I think what's happening is that the metering is a little off (or just different) when using the Tokina and the kinds of histogram that would be recoverable normally are giving me slightly blown highlights with loss of detail. The rest of the picture seems to have no real issues, other than being slightly more prone to CA than the Fuji lens (no surprise there) and a little softer at the edges (I can live with that). Investigating further...

Has anybody bought a Fuji camera from fuji's refurbished site, are they generally in good condition?
Thanks

Quite a few, including myself. My X-T10 was perfect, not a mark on it and would be indistinguishable from a new camera. The 18-55mm that came with it had a single, tiny mark on the zoom ring and was otherwise perfect also.

I'd have no issue buying from there again.

Not bought one off Fuji but I would imagine they are like Canon. My 1d3 came from Canons refurbished centre, it was just a returned open box camera. Mine was in a plain box not a fancy one, I would imagine Fuji would be the same.
Most refurbished are like new with any damaged or marked casings replaced and with as new guarantees

Thanks, they have a refurbished XT2 that's a pretty good price, the problem is I already have an X-Pro2 & a X100F so I'm trying to justify yet another camera, I'm hoping somebody out there can help me justify buying it[emoji41][emoji106]

Their refurbs are always excellent. My X-T10 is from their store and looks perfect.

BTW, if you need justification, use code P258BTCC467 for 7.5% off ;)

I bought a refurb Fuji but it was faulty, return and refund was very quick

Justify ? Where does that come into it ?

Had mixed luck from the refurb store. 100-400mm that didnt work at all, an x70 that was missing a battery and an x100t that had a load of dead pixels.
But also had a mint xt1, xt2 and 50-140mm.

What happens if both your other cameras break of course you need a third as backup

Anybody have any experience of the XC50-230mm ?

I'm looking for a cheap zoom for my lad, and I was going to look at a refurbed XF55-200mm but they haven't had one in the refurb store for a while.

Seeing that it's f6.7 at the long end I was a bit worried how useable it is, but it has got stabalisation.

Nice shot, but given how good DR is in modern cameras do you find bracketing that useful nowadays?

Yeah, I can see how the starburst sun would cause some silhouetting. Good point.
Did you end up needing all nine?

Lovely spot by the way, I can imagine it's very different with a rough sea too.

It's a decent sharp lens. The 55-200mm has better stabilisation and is slightly sharper wide open with faster af. BUT...I've used the 50-230mm with great success when i needed a lighter tele.

Just adding with a wee example of what @BacktotheFuji means - link - unusually the site doesn't have a weight on the FUJINON LENS XC50-230mm F4.5-6.7 OIS II, but apparently its 375g vs 580g

Just a quick check, do XT10 and XPro 1 uses the same battery as XT1?

Planning to add another fuji so i don't need to swap lens when traveling. They are small and light enough to take 2 body out.

Yes they do.

Thats good, thanks for the info. It makes life easier when they share the same battery when shooting with 2 camera. I wait for my 2 new lens to come first and shoot with my XT1 and then decide which second body i want. Looks like xt10 might be a better option.

A couple of quick shots whilst at a farm local to my inlaws, first time using continuous AF and CH (as opposed to single shot) modes.

Both in Velvia, JPEG to phone, quick crop in LR mobile then to Flickr.

Thanks and Happy Easter :)
