The Fabulous Fuji X owners thread

Agreed. Don't get carried away. You must have forgotten the absolute best camera ever made. The Nikon D750. I know it's good; this thread is full of praise for it.
I've heard that the MkII version will not have a delete button. It seems that nobody ever uses it, because every image taken is exhibition standard.
I was thinking more the D800 thread as I bring the standard down on the D750 one :p

@Nuzik Ive just been looking through your images and I am must stay they are great images you have taken with your kits..

I look forward to seeing further images taken with the Xt2 ;)

I have the 18mm and the 56mm now I'm thinking of either a 27mm or the 35mm. The 27mm will be closer to a true 35mm shot which appeals to me. On the other hand the 35mm lens is meant to be awesome but it's going to be like a nifty fifty and will I use it as much or instead of the 56mm?
23mm is closer to 35mm (34.5mm), 27mm is more 40mm (40.5mm). I recently acquired the 35mm f1.4. Optically very nice, AF can be a tad slow, noisy and rattly. The 35mm f2 is a better lens mechanically, renders extremely nicely but doesn't quite render as nicely as the f1.4 imo YMMV. Only you can decide which focal lengths work for you.

mmm so the 23mm is closer to 35mm that may mean i sell the 18mm get the 23mm and then maybe a 10?

Just been looking through the list of Fuji lens. They not cheap really are they lol

I have the Samyang 8mm Fisheye, 14mm, 23mm and 56mm. Then 55-200 zoom. Those do everything I need. Sold the 35mm because it didn't fit in my shooting style. I found it too close to the others.

As I say, only you can decide what works for you. I've never shot with anything wider than 18mm eq so can't comment on the 10mm (I assume you either mean the 10mm Samyang or 10-24 fooj?)

That a good set up food for though

It depends on what you're comparing them to TBH. There isn't really a bad XF lens so you have to compare the same quality of other brands. For example Nikon do budget, mid range and pro range (and everything in between) so you really need to compare their mid and high end lenses.

Yeah I see you point... Most of their glasses or top glass... I think the only ones that not as top are like the 55-200 saying that It meant to be very good for it price..

Considering that the 18-55 kit that Fuji practically gives away with a new camera body will get you through most photographic situations (if you need wider, you can always stitch), I'd say they are amazing value and one of the chief reasons I bought into the system. But even for the primes, I think for the quality you won't find many better bargains new.

Really wishes I wasn't on Mickledore ignore list. As the past is the past from when I annoyed him ages ago.. but never mind.. As would love to know how he gets on with that sayang lens

ideally id look at the 10-24mm Fuji im not buying no japanese rubbish.......
the 10-24mm maybe a little too rich for me currently

The Samyang glass is very good (Korean, not Japanese), in fact the Fuji stuff is Japanese!

To be fair there is a decent range of cheaper Fuji stuff now, the new F2 primes like the 23 and 35 along with the older glass like the 18, 35 and 60, there are bargains to be had... I just end up buying the dear ones!! (16-55, 50-140, 23, 16, 90...)

Has anyone moved from their XF35mm f1.4 to the newer XF35 f/2 WR at all.....? I'm sorely tempted.

On my second attempt I have. First time I bought one I just didn't like the shots when compared with the 1.4 and the faster focus wasn't that much faster in my opinion. I ended up buying another just so that I had a WR lens and because my 35 was seeing very little use anyway.

Thanks for reminding me I have a 8mm Fisheye, fixed it up with its new hood Blue Peter stylee and promptly forgot about it, out it comes tomorrow then.

Got a 14mm, 35mm and 60mm that never see the light of day either, but never know when I might want one, bound to if I sell any of them.

Even worse bought a lovely new tripod in January, still unused in its box and carried on using the old one, utter madness.

Feel compelled to always have a spare or two, must be a strange form of OCD or just plain bonkers. Came across a brand new pair of Meindl walking shoes in their box under the bed last week, still wearing a tatty old pair of Salomons

Not sure I'd call them bargains TBH. £369 for the 35mm f2 compared with £180 for the Nikon 50mm f1.8, or £100 for the Canon 50mm f1.8. The Canon 50mm f1.4 is still £69 cheaper than the 35mm f2. Granted the Fuji is weather sealed, but a bargain? ;)

It's a good lens that. I hope you are treating it well.
Not as good as it's Mark 2 replacement which gets used nearly every time I go out. Never leave home without it.

Um, mine is absolutely superb...!

Always fancied a fisheye lens prob get one this time round

I did and promptly sold it again, bought another f1.4 version and used it once, just don't get this prime thing at all.

Now the 10-24 is a different story altogether
