I also read an 'interesting' blog re Fujis RAW files saying that they are quite heavily processed, especially with NR which gives them quite a painterly look. Also the ginger midlander alluded to that same in another thread on here, are the RAW files still like this or have Fuji tweaked the software? TBH I'm hoping to shoot mainly jpeg with this camera anyway tbh as one of the reasons I've had the Fuji itch was due to the colours.

Anyway, should be arriving tomorrow so I'm looking forward to having a play over the weekend :banana:

I still use LR 4.4 and convert all my files to DNG (as I also do with my Nikon files) and have never had a problem. Apparently later versions of LR have addressed this problem with the Fuji files. You'll have no problems whatsoever with the jpeg files and all film simulations and effects etc can be created in camera directly from the RAW files"

I would have gone for Panamoz as I have bought from them many times but decided to order at my local LCE to take advantage of the £100 top up on the trade in price.

Thanks George, looking forward to getting my hands on it :)

I've managed to find some RAW file examples and not noticed anything obvious about the painterly effect tbh so I'm quite happy with that. As long as it's not blindingly obvious it's fine, I'm not going to pixel peep to see if I notice it ;)

You'll love the XT1, until you get to ISO 1600...

Welcome to the Fooj club :D I owned a black X-T1 (later model) before I purchased my current graphite silver X-T1, and the graphite model has better, clickier buttons in my experience.

As for the RAW files, you are correct, there is noise reduction baked in at higher ISO settings. If you're pixel peeking then ISO 6400 looks naff and ISO 3200 can be smudgey as well. ISO 1600 is fine IMO. The X-T2 is better by the looks of things, by quite some margin. That said, the noise at ISO 1600 and above is much nicer than that of other APS-C cameras, and nicer than the Sony a7 as well at the highest settings. Printed images always look good, so I guess it depends whether you're a peeker or not :)

I've not managed to get any files at 6400 ISO except that test chart on DPR. I've got one from the Xt1 at 3200 and I can't see anything obvious tbh. I wonder why Fuji haven't tried to rectify this then as surely it's just software isn't it? Does the XT2 have a different processor?

TBH I'm not ditching the D750 so I have my low light monster, the Fuji was supposed to be a cheap-ish (but turned out expensive) light walkabout kit ;)

The X-T2 has a far more modern sensor and processor, do I'd expect it to be better :) Regardless of its limitations, I pretty much used my Fuji gear exclusively since getting it, to the point that I've now sold my full frame Canon 6D and lenses. I ran the Fooj alongside an a7 and Olympus e-pl5 and only kept the Fuji... it's just so good to use and literally all the lenses are great from wide open.

Sounds promising. Can't see me ditching the D750 TBH as I shoot a lot of sports and wildlife, plus I still prefer the OVF. I am looking forward to the Fuji though, seeing if I can produce that Fuji magic. From what I've seen Fuji have a unique 'quality' to them, a bit like Leica do (although I know some say this is all in peoples' heads :LOL:)

Oh, and of course I'm looking forward to twiddling all those dials ;)

The dials are one thing, but it's the whole package that gets you though! The D750 looks to be a great camera, so it will be interesting to see how you get on with the Fooj, which is quite different. As others have said, the JPGs are excellent. Couple them with the wireless functionality and you've suddenly got some really simple workflow for the road.

Hi Snerkler long time no see!!

Glad you have joined the Fuji club I recently traded my XT1 Graphite in to Wex and I took delivery of my XT2 yesterday. The XT1 is a lovely camera that you can set up just how you want it and the Fuji colours are excellent.

Hope you have fun with it and look forward to seeing your contribution.

No the activity slowed down so don't go on there much these days.

No I didn't. No idea what that is, but I did see one for sale with what looked like a red smartie stuck on top of the shutter button so assume it's something like that?

I agree about AVF, very slow :(
 
Can you get a 'travel' flash for Fuji that can be bounced, something along the lines of the one bundled with the XT1?
 
Was covering a boxing match tonight using my Canon gear ,and for one round I had a wee shot of my XT2 with 23mm lens.iso 4000, f2. shutter speed 500.I was very impressed as i still have not got used to settingsbw1.jpgbw2.jpg

I'm picking up a X-T1 towards the end of next week, looking advice about a rubber extended long eye cup for the X-T1, where's the best place to buy one and what kind of price are they please ?

Just bought one from Amazon for £8.99 - genuine Fuji and no probs
 
Nothing spectacular but the first shot with the xt2 and 16-55 straight from camera. The main challenge was trying to stop the spaniel pulling on the lead without dropping this combo as a bit heavier than the XT1 prime combo.1475218003087.jpg

Going off on a tangent, but I gave up on AVF as there were a group of 3-4 guys dominating most threads and it became tiresome to post there. One of them made a huge amount of posts every day but often just one word replies or smilies - think he had the highest post count of the whole site. Haven't posted there for something like two years now. A shame as that was the first forum that I found when getting interested in photography.

That's a shame. Not sure who that was tbh but not good. There's very few folk on there now.
 
Anyone purchased a screen protector for their XT2 I normally get the expert shield which they have in but wondered if any alternatives.

The graphite silver t1 looks the incredible. The t10 silver one does look more plasticky.
 
Bit naughty I know but if anyone thinking of selling their 10-24 I've but a WTD in the classifieds...
