So I've scratched the Fuji itch and just ordered a used Graphite Silver XT1 and 18-55mm. Have a bit of buyers remorse at the mo as I was only looking at a cheap set up and was looking at the XT10, but I always get buyers remorse for a few days unfortunately. Tried both yesterday and there's pros and cons to each, but going back to the XT10's viewfinder after the XT1 was always a disappointment. It was only really that that swung it for me TBH. I actually prefered the buttons and rear control dial of the XT10 as they protruded more and easier to operate. I find the rear control dial on the XT1 a bit awkward so I doubt I"ll use it much, but shouldn't be an issue with having dedicated dials for pretty much everything anyway.
Haven't seen the Graphite Silver in the flesh so I hope I like it. Reading online it seems to split opinions with some saying it looks plasticky whilst others say it looks stunning. I have to admit I do prefer it in the pics when the light makes it look more silver than gunmetal grey. I also read an 'interesting' blog re Fujis RAW files saying that they are quite heavily processed, especially with NR which gives them quite a painterly look. Also the ginger midlander alluded to that same in another thread on here, are the RAW files still like this or have Fuji tweaked the software? TBH I'm hoping to shoot mainly jpeg with this camera anyway tbh as one of the reasons I've had the Fuji itch was due to the colours.
Anyway, should be arriving tomorrow so I'm looking forward to having a play over the weekend![]()
I would have gone for Panamoz as I have bought from them many times but decided to order at my local LCE to take advantage of the £100 top up on the trade in price.I was told it wouldn't be before 8 October. Panamoz have stock though (at least they had stock last Friday), and they can deliver quickly. I ordered mine last Friday and it arrived Monday.
Thanks George, looking forward to getting my hands on itThat sounds good Toby, It'll be nice to have you on board. I'm sure you'll enjoy using the X-T1.
"With regards to the RAW files looking a tad painterly, this was mainly due to the way earlier incarnations of LR processed the files as apposed to the actual Fuji files. I still use LR 4.4 and convert all my files to DNG (as I also do with my Nikon files) and have never had a problem. Apparently later versions of LR have addressed this problem with the Fuji files. You'll have no problems whatsoever with the jpeg files and all film simulations and effects etc can be created in camera directly from the RAW files"

Thought Fuji were pretty good at noise handling? Looking at this to my eyes it's better at 6400 than the EM5-II I had, which I was 'happy' to use at 3200 if I had to.You'll love the XT1, until you get to ISO 1600...
New camera day for us both tomorrow...

I've not managed to get any files at 6400 ISO except that test chart on DPR. I've got one from the Xt1 at 3200 and I can't see anything obvious tbh. I wonder why Fuji haven't tried to rectify this then as surely it's just software isn't it? Does the XT2 have a different processor?Welcome to the Fooj clubI owned a black X-T1 (later model) before I purchased my current graphite silver X-T1, and the graphite model has better, clickier buttons in my experience.
As for the RAW files, you are correct, there is noise reduction baked in at higher ISO settings. If you're pixel peeking then ISO 6400 looks naff and ISO 3200 can be smudgey as well. ISO 1600 is fine IMO. The X-T2 is better by the looks of things, by quite some margin. That said, the noise at ISO 1600 and above is much nicer than that of other APS-C cameras, and nicer than the Sony a7 as well at the highest settings. Printed images always look good, so I guess it depends whether you're a peeker or not![]()

TBH I'm not ditching the D750 so I have my low light monster, the Fuji was supposed to be a cheap-ish (but turned out expensive) light walkabout kit![]()
Sounds promising. Can't see me ditching the D750 TBH as I shoot a lot of sports and wildlife, plus I still prefer the OVF. I am looking forward to the Fuji though, seeing if I can produce that Fuji magic. From what I've seen Fuji have a unique 'quality' to them, a bit like Leica do (although I know some say this is all in peoples' headsThe X-T2 has a far more modern sensor and processor, do I'd expect it to be betterRegardless of its limitations, I pretty much used my Fuji gear exclusively since getting it, to the point that I've now sold my full frame Canon 6D and lenses. I ran the Fooj alongside an a7 and Olympus e-pl5 and only kept the Fuji... it's just so good to use and literally all the lenses are great from wide open.

Cheers. I assume you don't venture on AVF these days?Hi Snerkler long time no see!!
Glad you have joined the Fuji club I recently traded my XT1 Graphite in to Wex and I took delivery of my XT2 yesterday. The XT1 is a lovely camera that you can set up just how you want it and the Fuji colours are excellent.
Hope you have fun with it and look forward to seeing your contribution.

No the activity slowed down so don't go on there much these days.Cheers. I assume you don't venture on AVF these days?
Maybe I've bought your old camera![]()
No I didn't. No idea what that is, but I did see one for sale with what looked like a red smartie stuck on top of the shutter button so assume it's something like that?No the activity slowed down so don't go on there much these days.
If you have one with a black lolumina shutter button it's mine!!!!
Can you get a 'travel' flash for Fuji that can be bounced, something along the lines of the one bundled with the XT1?
How was that lit ? Natural light ?
Was covering a boxing match tonight and had a wee shot of my XT2 with 23mm lens.iso 400, f2. shutter speed 500.I was very impressed as i still have not got used to settingsView attachment 74711View attachment 74712
Just bought one from Amazon for £8.99 - genuine Fuji and no probsI'm picking up a X-T1 towards the end of next week, looking advice about a rubber extended long eye cup for the X-T1, where's the best place to buy one and what kind of price are they please ?
Regards;
Peter
Yeah me too from Amazon.Just bought one from Amazon for £8.99 - genuine Fuji and no probs
I agree about AVF, very slow![]()
Thanks, still a bit bigger than I'd have like tbh.The Nissin i40 seems to fit the bill

That's a shame. Not sure who that was tbh but not good. There's very few folk on there now.Going off on a tangent, but I gave up on AVF as there were a group of 3-4 guys dominating most threads and it became tiresome to post there. One of them made a huge amount of posts every day but often just one word replies or smilies - think he had the highest post count of the whole site. Haven't posted there for something like two years now. A shame as that was the first forum that I found when getting interested in photography.
Thanks for those replies, appreciated. Is the rubber eye cup soft so when you put your eye to it and put pressure on the eye cup it moves slightly ?Just bought one from Amazon for £8.99 - genuine Fuji and no probs

The graphite silver t1 looks the incredible. The t10 silver one does look more plasticky.
I bought this one. It's says X-T1 but it's the same screen and fits perfectly.Anyone purchased a screen protector for their XT2 I normally get the expert shield which they have in but wondered if any alternatives.

I agree on that...does anyone know if a graphite XT2 is on the cards?
