The Fabulous Fuji X owners thread

I may have had a poor 55-200 I was never very impressed with the quality it gave me on the XP2 whereas the 50-140 is one of the best zooms I've used on any system.
If you're over Glasgow direction at any point let me know and you can test my 55-200. I've been pretty happy with it, so it would genuinely be interesting to see if you had a duff 55-200 or if I just have low standards ;)

Have to agree, very pleased with my 55-200 and it's good even when compared with my previously owned Canon L 70-200 f4is which was a very good lens

I have owned the 50-200 and loved. Built quality is great and image quality is excellent. Tracking moving subjects with it was a nightmare though

About to order either a 8/16gb SD card for the Fuji X, any recommendations writing speed wise please........ something fast ? Lexar....? I've a Lexar 32gb which is 1000x and a write speed of 150mb, is there anything faster/better out there to look at...?

OK, my pre-order has been cancelled. I was told today there was no chance the pre-order would be available before 10 October. This was an insurmountable issue for me as I am leaving the UK for good on 10 October. The good news is I am not leaving without the XT-2.

I just ordered from Panamoz who currently have stock and offer a 3 year warranty (I've order bits and bobs from them before including my X100T). The camera, kit lens and grip will be with me in 4-6 working days. It's costing slightly more than the pre-order would have because of the pre-order discounts, however not that much (I think about £70).

let the 4-6 business day countdown begin

Thanks for the heads up I've just done the same, I've lost the Trade in £100 bonus but the camera was £50 cheaper than WEX so I've now got a £500 credit in my Wex account.

Don't know if this is old news but Wex are offering £420 trade in for the XT1 against the XT2 making body only just £830 sounds a good deal to me..
Seems decent as I got £500 for my mint graphite. They originally offered £480.

Talking about older lenses on the XT2, my 35mm 1.4 feels like a new lens

That's good to know. I have that lens but it hasn't been on the T2 yet.

IMHO weather sealing is hardly a consideration. If if ever rains hard enough to get inside the lens then I would be safe and dry indoors. Comes down to do you want 1.4 and can you put up with what some call dreadfully slow performance. As most of my stuff is done on tripod I'm happy with 1.4.

I bet it is. I sold mine while the xt1 was still on firmware 3.

Was it the 55-200mm you had or the 50-230mm? The 50-230mm is a lovely lens but can be slow to AF, whereas the 50-200mm is excellent at both on the X-T1 (v4 onwards).

Ah well there was an "Open Box" 50-140 & 1.4x kit on WEX for £1150 so thats on its way tomorrow!.... thats me down to just the 16-55 and 50-140 now... no primes left at the moment!!! When I sell (or MPB) by X-Pro 2 I'll probably order a 23mm f2 WR

The 50-200. Focusing was fast but tracking wasn't but then back then I was using it with the XT1 prior to firmware 4

ERRRRRRRRRRRRR!

But that's a wildlife shot not a human portrait!!! :P:P:P

I did have one in the classified but it got removed in a mod cull of older posts, it had only been there a week!!! I'll repost it.

AFAIK, the cull isn't a mod one, it's an automatic one - after a certain number of days with no replies or bumps, threads get auto archived. As long as you're nowhere near the 50% classies ceiling, bump them to keep them active.

As for the "Which lens? 50-140 or 100-400?" questions, they're completely different animals for totally different purposes! If you want/need a long tele, go for the 100-400 but if you want/need a fast short tele, go for the 50-140. TBH, mush as I love the 55-200, I haven't used it since I got the 100-400 - the 18-135 covers the short end and the 100-400 does the rest. The 18mm and 10-20 get lobbed on when needed but the others are almost welded to the X-T1 and X-Pro1! If When the X-T2 appears in my bag, the X-Pro might get semi-retired.

Will have a look thanks. Want something that's not going to spoil the sexy style of my graphite silver :)

I';m sure the beers are queuing up, we just need a meet with no driving involved, you got a ticket for Digital Splash yet?

:beer::beer:
I've registered. Been told that tickets will be emailed in a week or two. Presumably for both days. If I go I'll be on the train. Plenty of supping potential there:pint::pint::pint:

While im waiting for the X-T2 to arrive i found a few from my holiday in Dorset with the X-T1

Reminds me of a small place on the Dorset coast called Seatown (near Bridport) where I stayed for a few days fishing.

Daresay a lot of that coast looks very similar, nice photo especially the sun lighting up the beach and the blue sea

Many thanks and it was Seatown in Dorset,we had a van for two weeks at Bridport ;-)

Anyone have an xt1 large handgrip they want to sell?
Got a metrocase. Difficult communicating at moment as BT accidentally cut us off 8 weeks prematurely and won't reconnect till next week.

Nice part of the world, not so good for fishing though all I caught was ugly spider crabs. Stayed in a pub at Seatown so didn't have far to walk for the beach, weather looks much nicer in your photo than I had too

Thanks for the nice photo and nostalgic reminder of a pleasant break

Spider crabs may be ugly but they're also delicious!
