The Fabulous Fuji X owners thread

I'm sorry guys. Here it is :D

Also the guy said to me that 25£ for a uhs2 is too cheap to be true. He said that sometimes the brands say that this cards can reach the speeds that states but in true real life tests they never due ... any sayings about this ?

I got an extra battery and a 43'mm uv filter

He also did 20£ discount on the camera ehe

You're gonna hate it - best just save all the heart ache and send it to me ;)

No honestly I'm not jealous at all!

Interesting, I'm now told Park Cameras won't have anymore stock until the 23rd. Pre-ordering seems like it was a complete waste of time...

Not necessarily. I have one on order as well, not paid a deposit though. However I took the offer of £100 off the grip which was available before the first delivery. That's why I've held on from going elsewhere, so if you were taking the grip too, it would be a good move to wait....

Just back from Oulton Park. Something must have gone seriously wrong. I dropped @Mr Perceptive off at his front door some 90 mins ago and he hasn't posted yet. Very odd.
Anyway, thoughts on the AF system.
1) In a word it's good.
2) In two words it's bloody good.
3) The AF system is better than either of us are at using it. But, as my friend said "This is a whole new genre of photography for us". (He's very good at management speak!)
4) What's all the fuss about batteries? I shot over 1300 large JPEGs and still have one bar left on my battery. And I was machine gunning.
5) No lockups or funny turns from the camera. Did just what was expected. Never used boost mode. Left it at 8fps and that was fast enough.

Now to process the few frames that won't be deleted in a severe cull. Being serious for once; the AF is a big improvement on the X-T1, and once we learn how to use it then the results should be quite impressive.

Hey you. I never did that to you.
Don't forget you now owe me a bacon buttie as well as that pint.

X-T2 owners; What made you choose the X-T2 over the X-Pro2 ?

Just curious on your thoughts....

Cheers;
Pete
I got the T2 whilst already owning the Pro2. I missed the tilty screen, and the better balance that holding a camera with a central eyepiece gives. Having shot with both this last week I may well end up selling off the Pro2. The OVF does little for me as I still end up checking composition on the little picture-in-picture. Having said all that I certainly see the benefits of the Pro2 in certain shooting situations with prime lenses. It's just that I rarely find myself in those situations.

I toyed with the idea of the pro 2, but the tilting screen and larger evf won me over for the XT.

Got the 56 f1.2 today, wow what a lovely lens, couple of 1.2'ness in the garden just now

It's great that we can get this shallow DoF on apsc cameras, well done Fuji [emoji3]

Good man Gregg, that 56 will be glued to your XT2 for quite some time, used my 56 today also at f1.2..........amazing glass!

In work at the minute, I'll try upload an image later in the XE2 thread etc...

Just ordered this one guys

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01L1KQIDU/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Still a bit confused about what memory card to order... i dont need something very expensive

What size are you after? The Sandisk pro line is very quick -https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B01J5RHBQ4/ref=mp_s_a_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1474134080&sr=8-4&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=sandisk+ultra+pro+sd&dpPl=1&dpID=51vO6S-6HRL&ref=plSrch

I've always used Transcend cards in my various cameras by default with no problems, this one looks pretty speedy at 60MB/sec write speed https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B0...scend+64gb&dpPl=1&dpID=51-pvHXF1IL&ref=plSrch

Nice one dude, enjoy ! It's a great camera and the 35mm is a fantastic lens. Get shooting, it'll be a great walkabout combo for Madrid :)

Any 3rd party batteries that are equivalent to the new XT2 battery?

Given today's performance by myself and @mickledore I would suggest not.

We were both shooting in AF-C using zone tracking and CH burst mode (machine gunning)

@mickledore shot over 1200 JPEGs and still had battery left

I shot 700+ RAW+JPG, and changed battery at 1 bar left, as I didn't want to get caught out

Im looking for something a bit faster thank you xD
These lexar they have bad reviews actually.... are you having good performance?

Thank you! i hacve just tried the camera... omg im not used to it at all.. i keep looking to the screen to change settings lool
Getting everything ready for the 4 days trip. Still deciding how im going to shoot,,, probably Raw in one card and Acros in the other....

Good to hear. I just want to buy more to go in through grip but don't want to pay for the Fuji battery

It surprised me how much use I could get out of the battery. Must be good for almost 1500 shots if used "sensibly". We hammered it a bit - as we always do!
Makes the cost of the new batteries seem almost reasonable. I wouldn't get that much from the old, or third party, batteries.

I too have both, I had the X-T1 but sold it when I got my X Pro 2. I had no intention of buying the X-T2 but I got caught up in the hype, so GAS got the better of me and I bought one (with booster grip). When I had my X-T1 I never used the tilt screen, so it wasn't a big factor for me. What appealed to me was the faster AF and the more balanced form factor with heavier lenses ( with the grip attached) I thought once I'd had a go with the X-T2 I'd be inclined to sell my X Pro 2, but using the X-T2 made me realise how much I love the X Pro2. Its just such a lovely camera to use, the size is perfect. For me the X-T2 without the grip is too small, and with the grip it's in DSLR territory. But it is better balanced with heavier lenses. I'll see how I get on with the T2 over the winter, lots of rugby to watch and photograph, but for the moment the XP2 is a keeper.

IMO you should shoot raw and jpeg, remember if you shoot raw you can add film simulations in camera, that way you'll not be limited to Acros only.

ok i'll take that advise!
Didnt remember that. So if i shoot raw and then i edit in the camera with ACROS lets say, does it render the image as if it was shot in ACROS?
Yes exactly

One thing though, If you add a simulation in camera, then when in lightroom it shows as embedded and you can't change the simulation PP. but you will still have the original raw file in camera to do what you will with it.
