The Fabulous Fuji X owners thread

Love both shots; there's tons of interest in the second one! I'm happy routinely using 12800 ISO as a maximum.
Thanks. 6400 was max because I was experimenting and left it at that. As there are 3 Auto ISO settings I'll have a further play.

There now is a specific profile in LR, but there are quite a few different manufacturers' profiles of a similar focal length to experiment with. Personally I've used a Sigma profile.
Is the specific profile only in CC?
The Nikon seems to do a good job...more or less.

I only have CC so I don't know if it's in other versions I'm afraid! It might be under Rokinon.

Must be only in CC. It's not showing even under Rokinon in my stand alone version.
I'll double-check next week when I get back to my computer.

The reasons for me to move to CC are mounting up. I must resist. Repeat - I must resist!

Isn't there a bolt-on for downloading lens profiles? Fairly sure I had to use it on an older version to download a profile for my old samyang 14mm...

Samyang 8mm profile is definitely in LR CC both the original and MkII

Quick comparison between the Nikon fisheye profile and the samyang (excuse the original shot)

Personally I'd leave the original as it is.

A few pics from last night/today. I'm really enjoying using the 60mm.
I have been using manual focus as it's a skill I'm interested in improving.
It's great to make choices of what is in focus and what type of mood to explore.
Or something like that.

Thanks for that. I don't always correct a fisheye shot. I agree about leaving the original here.
Yes, it depends what you want from a fisheye. It amuses me when people buy a fisheye lens and the first thing they do is try to defish it and make it look like a standard 10mm lens.

When the 10mm option is £700 odd and the fisheye option is £200 though, kinda makes a lot of sense!

Anyone using Lexar UHS-2 cards in their Xt2? I ve only being using SanDisk UHS-1 in my XT1 so far.

Yes. I'm using Lexar Professional 150MB/s 100x 32GB HCII cards.
I was using them in the T1 but noticed that I sometimes had to switch off and on again to move things along. Early days yet but I still have to switch off and on again on the T2. Is it the cards or the Fuji system? It's more prevalent if I let the camera put itself to sleep, so it could be somewhere in my settings. Not a real PIA, but a nuisance.

Did it cause the camera to lock up?

Not sure if lock up is the right term. I've not compiled an exact list of what happens, but sometimes when the camera is asleep it won't wake up. Seems to be worse when I let it drift off rather than deliberately switching off. Then when I switch on again camera doesn't immediately come back to life; I have to switch on and off a couple of times. It happened on the T1 with these cards but not with the UHS-1 cards. So...is it the cards, the camera or the user?

Thanks. Never had any issues with SanDisk UHS - 1 before so hopefully the SanDisk UHS - 2 version will be as good

I use one in each of my Pro2 and T2. No problems so far, but I never let the camera sleep. I just switch off between shots - force of habit!

They might be for the X-T2 but the X-T1s fit as it's the same size screen. I bought the CGS glass screen protector from Amazon for the X-T1 and fits perfectly.

@Danones - You can use the memory card you have. It'll work fine but if you're planning on high burst photos or taking video then you'll need an upgrade. I got the 150mb/s Lexar cards mentioned above and they work a treat because they USH-II. I bought two 64GB and can use them for video or photos.

Can you review images any faster with these faster cards? It always used to bug me in the T1 if you took a burst of as little as 3 or 4 shots, that you couldn't review them for 5 minutes because they were being written to the card, the T2 seems marginally faster but there was still a considerable wait yesterday when I tried. (UHS I cards)

5 mins to view a short burst? I use 95mbps( I think) with xt1 and nothing like 5 mins

Just setting my camera up for tomorrow's trip to Oulton Park. Set to shhot JPEG rather than RAW, but a 10 shot burst wrote to my cards almost immediately.

It's a £60 upgrade, no need for cc. The joys of owning the latest tech I guess! :)
But £60 is the best part of a year's subscription, and as time goes by there will be more and more stuff on CC that is useful or updated. I'm a bit like @Barrysprout and his X-T2 purchase. I know I really should do it, but am looking for good reasons not to!

It's rather painful seeing XT 2 stock on Panamoz site yet nothing at the UK retailer from whom I pre-ordered in July. It sucks watching the party from outside.

I just phoned Wex who told me they have just received there second batch today, but then they told me I wasn't one of the ones to be allocated!!!
