I'd set mine up the same way, but chose fine+raw. My X-T1 raws could be seen on my Mac, I haven't tried the X-T2 yet.OK folks. Progress is being made.
Thanks to @G.K.Jnr. the DNG convertor he pointed to works. As I normally convert to DNG files anyway this adds just one extra step, but I've set up my workflow so that it takes virtually no extra time. The new RAW files are read and converted and able to be used in both LR5.7 and CS6. No need for upgrades or CC subscription. Thanks to @Alan Clogwyn for highlighting this.
There is also the added benefit that you can view the DNG thumbnails in Windows but you never could view RAF files in there.
Next I think I've sorted out shoting to two cards. You need to set the menu I.Q.>Image Quality to shoot Normal & RAW. Then in the Spanner section choose Save Data Set up>Card Slot Setting>RAW/JPEG. This saves the RAW to card 1 and the JPEG to card 2. The previews/reviews you see are JPEG files and will be goverened by the JPEG setting you have chosen. So if you have chosen Acros then you will only ever see a mono image, even if reviewing the shots on card 1 - the RAW files. You only see the RAW files when you get to the DNG editing process.
If the camera cannot save a RAW file, panoramas or @Greggster exposure bracketing you will only get JPEG files saved.
Does all that make sense?
Here's a quick snapshot I took of @Mr Perceptive when he realised that he would finally have to settle his debt and buy me a pint....

Looks like I'm up and running.
