The Fabulous Fuji X owners thread

8 month [emoji3] madly in love no regret [emoji3]

It took you 8 months to propose?
There's no chance of you getting a camera this year:eek:

Rookies, just my opinion, but I think you'll be disappointed by the XT1 based on your other posts over the months about various cameras and IQ ...

He's engaged. He's no chance now, full stop. Best bet is to just order one and face the consequences.

Trust me ;)

But I've seen some stunning images on here and Flickr. I've even downloaded some raw off internet some at 6400 ISO and was impress ok maybe not as clean as d750 but I need ask myself can i adjust

But you can get stunning images out of any camera. If you hadn't mentioned IQ in your posts about the XT1 and it was a case of just fancying one then I'd say go for it. But you got rid of your first 750 due to IQ etc etc etc

First d750 was faulty without a doubt.

Didn't realise you got a xt1 too you still the d750

If the main reason for moving away from the d750 is for a more compact set up then the Fuji is a great shout. The image quality will be good enough. Focus speed will be fast enough.

Id say buy a cheap used one. Keep it for a week and then decide. If you like it sell your Nikon gear. If you prefer the Nikon keep that and sell the Fuji. Job done.

Rooks, it's really very easy. Do you have a credit card? If not, get one. Buy a cheap used X-T1 and 18-55mm kit and then try it. That gives you a month or so to decide whether you like it, and if not, sell it before you have to actually pay for it :D

BTW, did someone mention Roses? Coffee for me, followed by strawberry then orange :D

Nobody has mentioned the purple ones yet. They are the bestest!

Honestly mate I know I'm probably wasting my time here but you've only just got the D750, after owning an A7 for a month (which you were proclaiming undying love for in February). Chill out and stick with it for a bit at least. You're also making it an extremely expensive hobby for yourself.

@rookies Take it from someone else who has been guilty in the past of chopping and changing constantly!!

The D750 from an IQ perspective is awesome, theres very little from any manufacturer that can touch it so if its pure IQ your interested in stay where you are, to be blunt the XT1 isn't a match for the D750 at all.

If its purely size your interested in then the Fuji is a good shout, as is the A7/A7ii, but it sounds like your in search of the ultimate in IQ and that isn't the XT1 but what you already have.

Having had a couple of beers- well I am off for a few days. Don`t know about the Sony but got to agree with above X T1 vs D750.

Off the top of my head for me advantages of the Fuji are: cheaper, lighter, no micro adjust, quieter, simpler to use/menus, ( or less options - depends how you view it), WYSIWYG on screen, more info on screen, better live view.

Biggest Fuji negs are view finder- great electronic view finder but wearing glasses I find the Nikon better & easier to view in sunlight, Fuji battery life, focus not as good as Nikon, and as Chris and others have said ultimate IQ/24mp vs 16.

Probably a load of other things but its late.

I love my Fuji and it draws glances that other camera systems just won't.

I can count on two hands now the number of people that have asked me what I am shooting and the minute I mention "Fuji" the comeback is "Fuji!......wow" every person I have let have a shot of the camera has admired its ergonomics, overall style, that gorgeous EVF and the images it can output.

As others have said, unless you are pixel peeping or shooting in fast paced environments the Fuji's can easily cover all aspects. Hell if its good enough for Mr Lovegrove then its good enough for me!:D

I am certain, in my case and some others, the limiting factor in getting good pictures is the bit behind the camera and where you point it not the Fuji, Nikon or most other modern- and older:)- cameras

EDIT - will still get the XT2 when it comes out though:rolleyes:

Since I bought my X pro 2 a couple of months back, my XT 1 hasn't really seen the light of day. I took it out last weekend and I'd forgotten how bright and big the EVF is. I'm debating whether to sell it as it's not getting used. I hate letting nice cameras go though.

I was like that selling my D750, still don`t know if I did the right thing but its gone now anyway. Biggest issue for me was it being such as lump compared with the Fuji. Loved it though but I don`t do enough for 2 systems and would only confuse myself.:) and get a rollocking from my Mrs

Sell it to rookies then we can have some peace!

I was like that with the big Canon 5D3. Couldn't make the move to sell. Finally took the pluinge and haven't missed it.

Indeed. Great photos were taken with what we would now think of as mediocre equipment!

There will be no peace.

First is the chat about switching, then comes chat about accessories, then another litany of posts about lenses and their sharpness, AF, etc. ;)
