The Fabulous Fuji X owners thread

Mr P. Funny sort of day. The stoppers did work very well. Trouble is the gorges were very gloomy and the water was in great volume and at a great speed so that filters were not really needed.

Then I reached a nice place for a 2.5 minute exposure using the 10 stopper. Trouble was there was so much spray that the filter got drenched. It gave an interesting shot. I'll have to see what I can make of it tomorrow. Don't think much of it will be in focus.

At present everything is drying off!

I did. Although I loved the Oly m4/3 gear (I was mod on the UK E-System group for a while) I tried the Fuji X system when the X-Pro1 was on offer over a year back and never looked back. Even though I couldn't get on with the X-Pro, I love the X-T1. For my field, which is landscapes, the difference in quality is there. The lack of noise at most speeds means that I have more latitude for cropping a PP developing. And ergonomically I no longer have to try (and fail) to remember what function I've allocated to which button combination.
 
This should be entitled "How not to do a long exposure"
Note to self...don't try and do a two minute exposure when there is excessive spray in the air. It just lands on the filter and spoils everything. Live and learn.

Yes, but I wasn't overly happy with the result. Looked wrong. I was hoping to get a blurred backround to put behind the sharb orb but in the middle of the attempt I got caught in a long hard hail shower. I beat a hasty retreat under some trees and forgot what I'd been planning. Can always go back....

This is because I've just bought an xt-10!
I swapped in my 7d for it and at the moment I am loving it! Iso handling is brilliant. I may even swap my 5d if I get on with the range of lenses. Can anyone give me a little advise on the longer end of the lens line up? How does the 90mm perform? 56mm?
For me it's going to be an expense moving over to Fuji completely, but I can't be doing with lugging around 2 heavy canon body's anymore!

In just a very short time I have built up a fair amount of Fuji X gear started with the XPro1 with 18mm and 27mm a no brainier really as the whole lot with case cost less than buying the two lenses on there own !
I then added the 18-135mm ois and a visit to a open day at Calumet convinced me to get the 56mm this gas been followed by 10-24mm ois and then the 35mm f1.4 and 90mm f2.0 and I finally picked up a 60mm f2.4 macro.
I don't think you will be disappointed with any of the lens that Fuji manufacture TBH they really are exceptional quality!:)
And along the way I have added XT10.XE2.XA1and finally this weekend I purchased a XT1 you could say :fuji:
I should add I don't carry it out all at once but even all loaded into my messenger style bag it weighs a fraction of what my Nikon and Canon systems do :)

With regard to @brave both the 56mm and 90mm are great pieces of glass, the 90mm is a bit of a beast though and not light, so I would try one on an X-T10 before committing as it may make the camera very front heavy. The 56mm is just staggering, both optically and in terms of colour rendition,there is something very special about it. As I have mentioned previously the 23 and 56 are my favourite Fuji pieces of glass, and they are usually welded to my X-T1 and X-E2 respectively.

But I have now ended up with 3 systems plus :( Well at my age time isn't really on my side so I took the plunge !

I just ordered the Samyang 12mm f2 for my X-T1. It's gonna take a week to arrive but I look forward to seeing how that lens performs.
 
Question from a newcomer to Fuji XT-1, what AF settings to you guys use for general walkabout use.
When I had a Canon that I used as a general use camera I had it set up on BBF, AI servo and Single shot so I stood a reasonable chance with static and unexpected moving objects when I was going for a walk but I don't think ( or I can't find if) I can set my Fuji up the same so what are the nearest settings?

Still no sign of the YN560iii

Mrs fabs emailed the seller last Friday and got a reply to say that they were on holiday for New Year and would reply when they were back (not giving a date) so she raised it with Amazon who gave her an instant refund (voucher). She's just re-order one which will be fulfilled by Amazon.
 
That's a nice brace of lenses

Quick thought Adam, the X-T1 had a software updare to optimise use of the 35mm f2, might be best to check if the same applies to your camera
(didn't seem to make a difference to me)

Morning All,

QUESTION 1 - I'm of snowboarding next week and will be taking my XT-1. Has anyone taken theirs before and how does it cope with the temp changes?

QUESTION 2 - I may have left this late but is there any way of getting it to shoot (burst) once motion is detected? Currently use Iphone remote trigger but that may prove difficult if i'm the one in the air...
