The Fabulous Fuji X owners thread

Just a quick heads up... 56mm f1.2 is down to £519 from £539 at the moment at Digital Rev.

Have you guys ever ordered from them? Ever get stung by customs?
I've bought from them a few times without problems and without customs charges, I think they just lie about the value of the kit in the box so if you're ok to go along with a little fraud... I am.

Actually the only time I've been hit with a customs charge was when I bought stuff from the USA. I've never been charged by customs for stuff coming from the far east.

I've used Digitalrev too. No problems with any extra charges, delivery is usually very quick.
And, I see V4.2 firmware is now available for the XT1. More options to play with!

Yes and yes, custom fee was promptly refunded so no complaints from me, delivery was quick and full trackable.
Quite interesting tracking the package across the world, took three days door to door, had worse within the UK

Watching my Nissin i40 up like a strobe on CH setting on my XT1 is fun with new firmware! :D

After 41 years, 3 months, 28 days, 22 hours 47 minutes and a few seconds no she isn't. She's Managing Director and Chief Executive all rolled into one.
LOL tell me about it although you've had 6 years of a longer sentence than me. You forgot Chief financial controller, it's a good jod my wife never looks at this forum, she thinks camera gear is still 10's of pounds

Oh my missus is very savvy when it comes to what gear costs. But....she hasn't discovered Amazon Lockers yet. She still thinks it's some time since I got any new gear!!!

Quick question for you XT1 guys.
I have the potential to snap up a good deal on a Fuji XT1 plus 18-55 lens.

Other than ergonomics and functionality would I notice any difference between it and the XM1plus 16-50 lens that I currently have or benefit in any way?

Purely IQ, no. Autofocus/Ergonomics, yes.

just updated and changed the record button :P

also, just ordered a few lenses from Digital Rev for less than second hand in the UK!! this country is a joke.

Has anyone worked out a short cut for the Format button? It doesn't appear in the drop down menus (unless I've missed it again) and I'd like to get to the Format stage quicker than going through the menus.

No, and in my case it's probably just as well! I'd no doubt end up formatting a card by accident!

Take delivery tomorrow of my X-T1 and currently trying to find the cheapest place for a 10-24......

Sure, but no healthcare, no benefits, no police, no fireman, no defence, no education, no binmen, basically nothing. Sounds a great place to be.

we could get startbucks, Amazon etc to pay their fair share and lower ours!

no one said NO tax, just less tax :P

if they actually forced these major corps to pay their fair share, they could probably lower VAT back down to 17.5%..but, as our coutry is run by fat cat a******e toffs who have gotten their teeth into 20% VAT...not likely, so f*k them all, I will buy in China and dodge paying VAT just like Amazon :P

May want to read the news for more about Amazon.

But you never said that. You said the country is a joke. Anyway, back on topic.

Should move elsewhere, could always get a job in a factory for $1 a week and have no human rights.

Alternatively could get a well paid job with excellent conditions.

Not taking sides, but the lowest common denominator is always quoted, there are better as well as worse places out there

And have everything we have over here without paying any tax? Would be nice. I dont care if anyone buys grey as the savings are there to be made on the odd purchase and yes we do pay a lot of tax but we do get something in return, its just the comment that followed. I think this country has quite a lot to offer in comparison to a lot of others.

again, no one said not paying any tax.....

But you never paid tax on your purchases so its implied, and then you called the country a joke. You never said anything about paying less tax. Anyway mate, as above edited post. I have no issue with it, really, and I wouldnt mind a reduction in taxes!!

@quango2k The thing that does annoy me is when the UK retailers / manufacturers sell a product at MORE than the international item price plus taxes just because we live in the UK and SHOULD be able to afford the extra!
