The Fabulous Fuji X owners thread

Must be the reason he's going back to Nikon and has mentioned a 150-600m lens, he's just realised he's not hip enough.:D

He isn't another who fell for the hype that said a mirrorless was really a direct substitute for a DSLR, but just so much more compact and a lot lighter, was he?

It would have been nice if they could have designed some TC to use on the 55-200mm lens

Now that would be very nice Simon, and I'd be at the front of the queue for one.(y)

I enjoy photographing birds in the garden and I really tried to make the XT1 work for me. Sold my 55-200 for the 50-230mm, bought numerous manual focus lenses and had a cracking Tokina 300mm f4 which took a TC excellently, but for me with my arm/hand problems I struggled with MF. As there were further delays I sold mine before Christmas and went to Nikon D750 for the longer AF lens availability. Even on FF @ 24mp it also allows me to crop the images a lot more, say using a 300mm lens.

This will not be a problem for me. Can't say I've ever tried to photograph any wildlife except for my cat, and she doesn't need the long zoom :p

I'm not actually into wildlife photography (apart from macro) Simon, but there are times when I could sure do with a bit more reach than the 55-200mm Fooj lens gives me.

At the moment I use old Nikkor Ai/Ais manual and (D) lenses with an adapter on my X-T1 that all work just fine. And as I very seldom use auto focus or any kind of auto exposure I don't have any serious problems. But obviously by the time I have put an adapter plus a TC on the Fooj and then a longish Nikkor lens it begins to get a bit front endy.

We (as a company) have just outed virtually all of our FF units in favor of the Fuji-X system and certainly at the moment we feel we have made the correct decision, just keeping one D800/e unit and most of our lenses back in case a client insists on FF images.

Relying on you to keep the pics flowing now I'm no longer posting any.

All these numbnuts saying they're out using their cameras instead of posting on here ain't got s*** to show for it. :D
Ooooooooo get her

Bit of a b****r about the 100-400 delay which is the one lens I'm waiting for. However I'd rather have it delayed and them get it right than turn out a total dog.

True and true. I assume the 1.4x TC isn't delayed? That seems like a no-brainer buy for the 50-140 especially in light of this delay.

I rarely need anything over 200mm FF,so the delay not a problem for me,and hopefully when the 1.4 converter comes,i think i will have all the reach i need :)

Is it me or did you change the image from a mono quarryscape to the Barmouth shot?

I raised the topic of banding at image junctions a few weeks (and thousands of posts) ago! I sometimes get banding, but not always. Can't see any on the Barmouth image either on here or on flickr. Feeling was that there was nothing could be done about it. That was the Gopel according to our new Nikon friend! Seems to me to be worse if I use fewer images in each pano. Seems better if I cram as many in as possible.

Sorry, not really an answer, but yes I do see it at times, but not in any set pattern.

Yes, it gave me code for a different image for some reason! There is no hard edge in this one, but there are some blurred bits that look like bad cloning along some edges, though you'd need to see it at much larger than the normal flickr display to spot them.

I just don't get how it works, am I right in thinking I can take as many pics as I like, it stops when you get to the required degree of angle?

Yes, that's how I understand it. I haven't worked out what the shutter frequency is but I just slowly move across the band and let it work things out for itself. I don't think we have any control over the number of shots; I work on the principal that it takes a shot when it registers a different view. But don't ask me how!

In their dreams.:mooning:

You appear to also like posting in the 'wrong' threads, well according to some people. Heaven forbid we all have our own opinions in this place.

We all have opinions but there has to be a limit to the number of times a day some folk want to read a new post from you stating what you usually state.

Your opinion is so oft repeated now in some "wrong threads" that you could save yourself some time and just post a blank post and everyone will know what you mean.

But it's all part of your charm and knowing and loving you :D and I suppose you add balance :D

Here we go again, the butting in hypocrite is back. :p Love you to woofy

Can think of a few more members like that too... :P

Nice set of images David @minnnt.(y)

Best PP software for the X-T1 then? Is Capture One any good?

Been using LR for the X-E1 but people do complain about the Adobe conversion with the newer sensor.

To be honest, I've noticed huge differences between the output of the old X Trans or the new one in ACR. If you can't spot the flaws now, you're probably OK :) FWIW I find PhotoNinja very good for fine detail, but prefer to use LR.

Nice Epiphone,they look like P 90's

Thanks for that Chris, appreciate your comments.(y)

They probably are, the guitar is the same colour etc as one of mine and sounded awesome considering the little amp he was playing it through. I think mine is the Epiphone version of the Gibson 335 (Double Cutaway Model) with a Bigsby that I fitted. Sounds pretty good though (in the right hands):D:D

Practice shot with a new ten stop filter. I'm encouraged enough to go back when the light is more interesting. XT1 and Samyang 12mm

Not at all to shabby for a practice shot ! I really do like that, the subtle hue gives Westminster Bridge an almost welcoming feel to it.
