The Fabulous Fuji X owners thread

That is kind of you to say. I was hoping for a little more cloud movement but the wind was light and shooting at near midday kept the exposures short. I closed down a lot to give me a longer exposure but the Samyang seems noticeably softer after f11. Not much pp on this. A couple of grads to darken the sky and a DuChemin B&W preset.

Thanks for that Chris, appreciate your comments.(y)

They probably are, the guitar is the same colour etc as one of mine and sounded awesome considering the little amp he was playing it through. I think mine is the Epiphone version of the Gibson 335 (Double Cutaway Model) with a Bigsby that I fitted. Sounds pretty good though (in the right hands):D:D

George.
Hi George,i had an Epiphone 335,lovely guitar,it has humbuckers on though not the P90's as per your shot,i have a Casino with P90's strung with flatwounds, gives a nice 60's sound, when i first took up guitar '64 flatwounds were the norm :).
Nice shot anyway,im just trying to decide between XT10 and Xpro1 offer with the 2 lenses and case, i know the Xt10 is newer but i love the styling of the Pro and I prefer the older sensor myself but not 100% made my mind yet, im so happy to have the original X100 back, love it

Thanks for that Chris, I've never had an X-Pro1 but have seen excellent results from them. You're not alone in preferring the older sensor, quite a lot of people on the forum do. Only you can make the choice. I personally wouldn't go for an X-T10 purely for me it's too small, other than that it appears to be an excellent unit. For me the X-T1 cameras are just right (with the battery pack on board) and feel very similar to my old Nikon FE2 film cameras with the motor drive, which I used to love using (and still do from time to time).

It's all down to personal choice and what feels right for you, all the Fooj units are excellent bits of kit.

George.

Just thought I'd post another shot of a street musician taken on my X-T1 with 55-200mm lens as there seems to be a lack of images being posted at the moment.

:ty: for looking and hope you like it.,(y)

Like that George

I see it was taken with the 50-200 fancied one of those but the funds are tight at the mo so just bought a 50-230. Have to say im pretty impressed for such a cheap lens.

I absolutely love that 55-200mm, I've also used it with some ext tubes and different Raynox units for a bit of macro stuff and have been very impressed with the results that can be obtained. I've never tried the 50-230mm lens but have seen some extremely good results from it. To be perfectly honest m8 I've yet to see an optically bad Fuji lens, either interchangeable or fixed I consider them to be up there with the very best regardless of the manufacturer.

George.

Hi Guys, Looking at getting the xt1, what cases are guys using with this lens, the leather old school type or a modern nylon ripstop etc... what ever it is let me know any makes etc as just getting an idea of what fits and if you have any images like for the half leather type stull it would be great if you could share.

Cheers Lee

Well first time out with the X-T10 today and I am really liking it. Took it out just with the 18 and 35 lenses with spare battery ND filter and cable release and you can't feel that you are carrying anything. Tested myself in a few ways today, I've not read the manual and sometimes it took me a while to find certain settings such as electronic shutter which setting to use for focus etc. Also made a few mistakes such as changing the aperture back doh!! I'm used to using zooms so 2 primes is out of my car merit zone but it makes me think move and move with my feet. I was wondering why the 35 wouldn't focus properly I'd moved the switch on the front to continuous focus. I probably need to set the camera up properly and if anyone has any tips then please feel free to post how you have set yours up. In the meantime here's a few pictures nothing special just a few snapshots oh and I'm loving classic chrome and monochrome green filter.

Took this one today with my my recently acquired 10-24mm I had it on my Xpro1 while i was experimenting with long exposures on my XT1, very heavily processed, was bored and trying to learn how to use lightroom. Seems like a nice lens though.

Chernobyl and Pripyat yesterday - brilliant trip and my first proper "outing" with the Xt1. 10-24 did a sterling job.

40gb of pics to sort through now...
Looking forward to seeing a few pics. Would love to go there.

Jeez this thread is half way down the Equipment forum. How quickly things change ;)

Got my X-T1 and 10-24 today, sooo light after the Nikon 14-24!

Sensor is filthy though, have ordered an Eyelead gel cleaning stick. Good choice? Or should I send it back and get something else?

Just got back from a long weekend in Ironbridge. Lots of photies to process. No time to chat in here!!!!

Is this a new X-T1?

Where did you buy the camera from ? :)

I was shooting a wedding and really wanted and extra stop of light. My widest F1.4 is my 35mm so i was thinking of replacing one of my Fuji lenses with the new 16mm F1.4.

It is a tough call as I enjoy using them all 10-24 F4, 14 F2.8 and 16-55 F2.8? any thoughts Fuji shooters? Anyone using the 16mm?

Not sure if 23mm is wide enough but it's a lovely lens!

I had the 23mm and replaced it with the 10-24mm as I wanted to go ultra wide for architecture and landscape.

The more I think about it the more I am considering replacing both the 14mm and 16-55mm lenses with the 16mm and 90mm

I've been taking a few photos with my X-T10 but I'm on holiday at the moment,
I've took both my X-T10 and 5D3 with me yet as much as i like my 5D3 I've just been leaving it at home taking the X-T10 everyday so far..

Not implying the Fuji is better "imo" it's not yet but it's a excellent alternative that's so much easier to carry about all day.

Handled a XT-10 with a 60mm in LCE the other day. It really felt good to my hands (*). I don't think the absence of a dedicated ISO dial would be an issue for me; I'm used to only changing the ISO every 36 frames or so! Decisions, decisions...

* It possibly felt light in comparison to the Bronica SQ with grip and lens I'd just been handling... weight well over a kilo, I suspect!

Thanks man, our little 6 month old bundle of joy! Only recently starting sitting up (and staying up for a period of time) so made the most of it.

I'm in the club! Adam's Ex-X-T1 arrived safely today and first impressions are very good :D

I definitely wasn't expecting it to handle so well, but it really does. The AF is certainly quicker than the X-E2 in very low light, not much between them otherwise. The viewfinder is amazing though, and the dials...THE DIALS!

Haven't had a chance to take my X-T1 out yet, hopefully at the weekend!

Amazon sent me the wrong Eyelead stick, the orange Sony one not the blue one so have to send it back. They are sending me a new one though, submitted the replacement request last night and it's arriving today; I have a month to send the incorrect one back at my leisure. Great customer service that!
