The Fabulous Fuji X owners thread

Din't know there was one! Was going to use a locking remote.
I'll have a look at that.

Just had a look at that. Unless I'm missing something it won't do continuous. The best it will do is a 1 second delay between shots. That might not be ideal for star trails - might leave lots of little gaps.

Hmmmm, good point. I would have thought either would do then. Just make sure you have LENR off and if you're shooting Jpeg then set the WB yourself. Stacking 240 RAW shots in PP would be a tiresome wait for me.

@minnnt You jumping ship then David, just noticed the thread you have in classifieds?

This thread will be a lot quieter without you

Doesn't that fill in the gaps for you? ;)
Will the 1 second gap really make a difference to the end result?

I don't know about that. Realistically I should be alright, but I have a 2 hour drive to somewhere nice and dark with an interesting foreground, so that makes a 6 hour trip in total. Not sure I want to risk it. Might use the 5D instead - assuming this cloud cover clears!

Yes, I was thinking of using the 5D for star trails and the fuji for the milky way. Fancied doing it the other way round for all sorts of reasons, principally because the full frame will be better for MW. We shall see.

It needs to sell first.

I can't decide between the 6D/610/750 but that's not a discussion for this thread. :D

Just had my new D750 delivered, it's a thing of beauty.......:exit:

@minnnt had the same affect on the OMD thread. Bloody gas bag ( unintentional gear related pun, sorry )

This Fooj thread sure is active, I've only been away from it since about 5pm yesterday (post #7199) and it's already jumped two pages up to #7262.:D

@minnnt possibly jumping ship :runaway: whatever next!!! We'll have to agree to keep him as an honoury member.:)

George.

Not sure how @twist manages to perform his mind tricks over a forum  I was sitting quite happily drinking my mid morning coffee and he asks a couple of seemingly innocent questions about video on the X-T1. And he managed to start an avalanche in my head which has resulted in me purchasing another X-T1! :runaway:

The X-T10 will have to go now. But I'll have two bodies functioning in exactly the same way which should make things easier for my head, and easier to explain things to Mrs Sprout when we are both shooting.

That sounds like good progress Colin, "Enjoy".(y)

No! Like you I can't keep up with posts on here. It's so bad I've stopped the email notifications so that I can do other things with my life - like use my camera!!!

I'm going the other way. Going to ditch my D600 and 14-24 and acquired an X-T1 and 10-24 to add to my X-E1 :D

Need to sell the 85mm FX and pick up a Fuji 56mm too :)

I bet you have already order the Nikon D750 :D

Only if someone buys my X-T1... Meh.

I saw the 14-24... Was considering a cheeky offer of a trade... ;)

I've had all of them so feel qualified to answer.

... Just but the D750 for gods sake.

It's on the 'to order' list but see reply further up this post. ;)

Haha just buy it off me please! Just spent money on the Fuji stuff so do need to sell. Would go well with your new D750 ;)

You have a really good eye for landscape photos so right up your street :)

That 14-24 is an big old lens & the 10-24 is a really nice lens :)

It's a lovely lens no doubt, it is super difficult to make a FF UWA with as little distortion etc. as it has. But my weedy arms struggle in all honesty. @minnnt is used to the Fuji 50-140 so will be fine :D

@mickledore - I have a remote/intervalometer that I got off Amazon reasonably cheaply that I purchased for this sort of thing. Although for what you want to do setting it to CH and just leaving a remote release in should work.

Thanks for that. I've been playing with a remote and CH as you suggest. Everything works OK, as I thought it would. But I was only doing testing with a few short timed exposures. Even then it was taking time to write to the (fast) card. I was concerned that 240 biggish JPEGS might overwhelm the system and somewhere I'd loose some shots. That would b****r up my star trail.
However cloud is building up so it looks like tonight is a no go anyway.
