The Fabulous Fuji X owners thread

At the risk of boring you all with my shots of around Folkestone, here's one more with different presentations. I'd be interested to know which interpretation you prefer.

It's a shot of the old "Harbour Railway Stn" obviously no longer used, but would you believe the "Orient Express" used to stop here a few years back. X-T1 and 18-55mm lens.

:ty: for looking.,(y)

George.
I prefer the mono version

Got my 10 stopper through today... Just waiting for the lens for it to go on now.

Must be a very slow boat.
Hi
What ND filter do you use most often, and what lens are you getting.I am still deciding between the 14mm or 16mm.

Did you buy from the place I linked to, they were quite slow when I got mine. Worth the wait though.

Did you go for the lee big stopper?

Not really big on filters etc but for the few shots i have done with them i just used a soft 0.9 grad. I am getting the Samyang 12mm f2.

Went with Expedite Electronics. Apparently Parcel Force are going to deliver it in the next 2-3 days so it's all good.

Looked at the mid range nd filter thread and decided to go with the XCSOURCE one. For under £7 i thought it was worth a punt. If i take to it then i may invest in a LEE 0.9 soft grad and Big Stopper. Will see how i get on with the 12mm and the cheapo filters i have and take it from there.

Ah I'll have to look into that thread, I use the SRB round ones with the 12mm and get fairly good results. From what I've read Lee's Big Stoppers dominance is under threat by other filter makers now?

I have Hoya 58mm filters (suitable for 14mm and 18-55mm) in 3, 6 and 10 stops. Also have a Hoya 58mm ND10, which is a soft grad, 3stops to 1 stop, although it is fixed in the centreline it does rotate (like a polariser) so it can be altered. (and a bucket of IR filters)

Ok I'm definitely in, should we post this in Meeting Place forum, there is also a possible Manchester meet thread running over in Fuji X Forum, should I let them know as well??

As I'm local (ish) I'm happy to be there much earlier and pre-arrange an 8.30 pm meet point for the second wave

See what everyone else wants first mate but I'm easy and happy to go along with anything.

I'm local - ish. Very ish. Can easily get there any time during the day. If it's a daytime meet I can train it. Gotta watch the pennies!

I'm north of Liverpool - Southport to be precise. There's a good train service to Salford Crescent but I don't know how late it runs.

I'm South of the Mersey! Northwich area.

I would be very happy to do mid afternoon start, grab something to eat early evening and meet up with minnnt in the evening, that way we could do a day and night, and people can pick which they prefer (or both)

Sounds reasonable.
There's a car park and if you eat in a cafe you get free parking!!!

(Off topic ) I've had an email today via Flickr from some company wanting to use this as part of their commercial marketing and company overview

the studios by damianmkv, on Flickr

I took it on the xf1. I said " how much are you paying ? "

It went quiet....

I just thought if they want something, they'll pay a professional ( say ) £500. Maybe they're chancing their arm via Flickr expecting people to give stuff away which I guess most will do

Shame I can't join your trip as I'd love to :(

I'm less than 30 mins from Media city :D but im off to the English Riviera on Saturday and only return that Saturday so likely had enough driving by the time im back home.. I live at Leigh

I am spending the day at Amateur Photographer magazine tomorrow for the FujiFilm 'X-Photographer X-Perience' !

Should be interesting - a chance to try the X series cameras with three different photography experts in their respective areas of expertise (studio, landscape and street) as well as a few seminars.

Will be really good to compare the X series against my current D90, and may be the final push I need to switch systems..

Will provide some feedback afterwards if anyone is interested ?

That sounds like fun... Have a great time.

Not sure how @twist manages to perform his mind tricks over a forum  I was sitting quite happily drinking my mid morning coffee and he asks a couple of seemingly innocent questions about video on the X-T1. And he managed to start an avalanche in my head which has resulted in me purchasing another X-T1! :runaway:

The X-T10 will have to go now. But I'll have two bodies functioning in exactly the same way which should make things easier for my head, and easier to explain things to Mrs Sprout when we are both shooting.

 :naughty: Damn Im good. Congrats, hope you got the one I linked you ;)

Agreed, will make it easier, say hello to the twins for me.

Does anyone know the practical difference between CH and CL shooting modes?
I'm thinking of doing a star trail. Exposures will be 30 seconds each shot in continuous mode. I'll be doing this for at least 2 hours so 240 images. All will be large JPEGs.
Will it make any difference if I use CH or CL?
