The Fabulous Fuji X owners thread

Nice set of images David.(y)

I don't know what's gone wrong but you've got a double post showing again on my PC m8.:(

And only two of my images are showing for some reason on my posting?:(

Can't wait to finally take delivery of my XT10 tomorrow. For a week I have had 4 lenses sitting there with no camera to attach them to!!!
That's took some time, My X-E1 eventually arrived with FFordes on a Thursday they gave me a good price the same day so i paid later on and had it dispatched Friday using RMSD... it arrived Saturday :woot:

Has anyone else bought the Meikle MK320 flash?

I was messing around today with it and tried it on my Pixel/canon ttl lead and it sets itself to f5.6 regardless of camera settings. The lead always worked fine with my Canon gear in the past and it also worked last year with a Fuji EF-X20 flash on my X-Pro1. Maybe it's developed a fault in the meantime??
The flash works fine on all three Fuji cameras I have but I don't have any other TTL flashes to try on the lead.........discuss.....

ETA just found similar queries about the same problem on DPreview and Fuji X forum so it looks like my lead may not have a fault. Anyone want to swap a Nissin I40 for my Meikle MK320?

This might not answer your question but...

I haven't done a lot of flash work with the Fuji, but I have tested my Canon 580EXII OCF. I don't use a cable, but use a pair of Yongnuo RF 603MK2 and there doesn't seem to be any problems apart from a funny message after each shot that I just ignore! Seems OK on the restricted use so far.

Normally everything I do with flash is in manual, I've got yongnuo flashes and various triggers which all work as they should. I've got a Manfrotto flash bracket which allows the flash to get a fair distance from the camera and the weight of the Meike means it's very easy to handle, but if i cant get TTL through the cable I'd be as well having a more powerful yongnuo on a separate stand.

Ladies and gents, a quick query, in video mode with the XT1 on FW4 can you change exposure manually/independently? Aperture, Shutter, ISO?

It does video too??!!

Sorry, no idea :-)

Only answered as I presumed that I am the gent.

Go on try it and let me know, then you will earn your gent status.

You're right it does do video! So tried it for the very first time. ISO has to be set before recording starts from 400 upwards, that's maybe a DR thing which could be changed in settings  ISO cannot be altered while recording.
Shutter speed adjusts from 1/60th and faster and can be adjusted while recording. Aperture can be adjusted while recording too

A true gent, thanks

@Barrysprout One more Q, does auto ISO work in video if set before recording? So if I changed Aperture or SS the ISO automatically adjusts the exposure?

Tried it just now, and no whatever it chose for ISO when I started recording it stayed there regardless of how much the exposure was off.

No Longer Available.

Thanks again, so what you reckon XT1 vs XT10? I may be in the market for a used XT1 (with warranty) or new XT10 for similar money. To me the XT1 for the same money is a bit of a no brainer?

my classifieds purchase of second body arrived this morning. Its in excellent condition so I'm a happy bunny

Hey! Karen, "Enjoy".:D

For the same money I'd go for the X-T1. As you know it was only the lens package and trade in that made me get the X-T10 and I toyed with selling the body only immediately to fund a second hand X-T1 but I reckon the difference in size means it's worth me having the two. 27mm on the X-T10 makes it more pocketable than an X100. Not much mind you  maybe I should sell for another X-T1, it's still slightly annoying that they can't be set up in exactly the same way. And due to purchasing a TCL I'll be keeping the X100S for now anyway. :runaway::runaway::runaway:

Prefer mono, though not sure about the sepia tinge on it.

Thanks for that Frank, much appreciated.(y)

I too wasn't sure about the Sepia treatment myself but decided to give it a go.

Well I'm up for it mate on the Saturday night weather permitting? Would get there for about 8.30pm with hopes of setting up for some nice evening colour in the sky then hang around for some night time shots etc.

George, much prefer the mono shot, the sky is nice.

Thanks George. I just picked up a grip in classifieds for it this morning. I'm doing well in classifieds this week.
I prefer the mono version of your photos much grittier and atmospheric. Suits the subject better

Thanks for that Karen, much appreciate your comments.(y)

Congrats on the new camera & grip.

George.
