The Fabulous Fuji X owners thread

Thinking of off loading the 50-140... Any thoughts on what it might be worth?

UK stock
Good condition with some wear to paintwork from rubbing on clothing etc
Boxed with all bits etc.

Straight swap for a XC16-50 still lets you use a zoom AND get those slightly wider shots you yearn for. 50-140 is not a lens I planned on getting but as a favour to you I'll put up with it.

After seeing these two posts I think I'd better hold back telling you what I've been up to then.:)

George.

Oooooo tell me tell me :D

With pictures! :)

come on George.....you cant say that and leave it there

With pictures! :)

Keeping it basic, as a company we're re-equipping our studios with the Fooj-X system.

So it's FF units virtually "OUT". Fooj units "IN"

Medium Format units back into service for most of the standard studio work. Large format 5x4 units unchanged for catalogue/product work.

And hopefully a long break from studio work for me.:):)

Part ex'd my X-Pro on Friday for an XT-10 and am impressed with it! The XT-10 is more SLR like in it's handling and operation and I never really adopted my style to the X-Pro's even though the images it produced were great. But I'm loving the small size, speed and functionality of the XT-10, I just need to find some time to take it for a proper try out somewhere interesting!

Only thing is I already feel that I will be using it more than the X-Pro and am checking out prices of the 23mm (35mm is my most used focal length on full frame) and 14mm, I just don't want to be running another lens system alongside my Nikon................

Thought mine was rather obvious too! Barry is the name of the time traveling sprout that lives inside Elvis' head.

Flabbergasted that I had to explain that! :D

A Fuji meet sounds good and I wish I could attend, however a 450 mile round trip is a bit much in a day.

Well, you asked.......

Mickledore is a high mountain pass between the two highest mountains in England; Scafell Pike and Scafell. It is situated high above Wasdale Head which is at the end of Wasdale, one of the remotest valleys in Lakeland.

In the late 1990's we went to the inn at Wasdale Head for our Xmas breaks for about 10 years on the trot. We knew the landlord quite well. He was heavily involved in the Wasdale Head MRT and we were very active mountaineers, rock climbers, fell runners etc.

On the col of Mickledore there is a permanent MRT box containing all the heavy stretchers etc that they might need on a rescue. It is there to save the effort of carrying everything up when out on a shout. The box is unlocked so to ensure that light fingered Larry hasn't had it away with the gear there is a roster for the MRT members to go up and check it.

One year it was mine host's turn, but the anointed day was Xmas day, and he was obviously busy with preparations for the festivities so he asked me and my mate to do the honours. Unfortunately there were white out conditions on the mountain, and we had a bit of a "challenge" even to find the box. Not to worry, job was done, and we earned ourselves a free pint.

When I got home I was changing ISP and my name had been taken and all I was offered was a variant with untold letters and numbers after it. I didn't fancy that so as mountains were in my mind I went through some names on the Lakeland hills and Mickledore was the first that hadn't been taken. I've been Mickledore ever since, even though I'm now so knackered bodily that I'll never get there again.

I've never even heard of that, then again I have led a very sheltered life.:D:D:D Thanks.

That's brilliant, thanks for the explanation.(y)

Simply because i am mint. Thought you'd have realised that by now. I've been around for 10k+ posts so I'm quite shocked you haven't realised this for yourselves.. :D

I might have known it would have been something like that.:)

George.

And when the ark was finished Noah said unto Elvis, "What do you reckon?"
And Elvis checked out his own cabin and shook his head saying "pokey".
And so did they knock several walls through and install a jacuzzi.
And when it was all done Noah scratched his beard and said, "We don't have room for all the animals now."
And Elvis perused the livestock list and in his wisdom said, "Lose the dinosaurs."

Bit of a double post there my man. Not so mint!!!

That bombed out church is open to the public during the week. There are some very strange aromas in there. It's full of New Age type displays and "thought provoking" items. I think they need the substances that make the aromas to understand what's going on. Way beyond my pay grade that stuff!!!
