The AF-C is a little disconcerting as it seems to hunt but he results speak for themselves! I'm taking mine hill climbing next weekend with the 55-200 so I'll see how well it can cope with motorsport.
I had ok results with my 55-200mm but I am getting excellent results with my 35mm. I will put down to little experience with tracking using a mirrorless camera and hopefully my hit rate will get better with all my lenses the more I use the camera.
I think I'll probably take the DSLR kit as well just in case but I'd rather just carry the X-T!
I know exactly what you mean but I still think the DSLR (I take it you will be using your D700) should give you a better hit rate and the conditions and lighting varies.
but how many of these can be applied within a firmware update
