The Fabulous Fuji X owners thread

Just bought an X-T10 with the pre-Xmas double cashback offer. Very nice camera. The fully-auto switch will be useful from time to time. Here's a test of it on the beach in fading light the other day

Welcome to the XT clan Sir, you're the proud owner of a very fine bit of kit "Enjoy"(y)

Here's one from Wednesday morning. After the foggy start in Botley, I made it into town, where there was no fog at all! But Christchurch Meadow was sub-zero and gorgeously frosty. Dynamic range became more of an issue as the morning went on, but I took so many pictures it's going to take quite a while just to decide which ones to keep :). There were even some swans, although they were a bit less than cooperative, being more interested in dragging weeds out of the bottom of the ditch than posing for pictures...

Very nice shot Dave, great detail, with a good foreground, and spot on exposure with detail in the highlights & shadows.(y)

There's a dog that likes the beach! Lovely pebbles too...
Thanks for the comment. Yes, she loves the beach! The pebbles... well the Fuji colours do the work as usual.

Thanks for the comments and the welcome. I"ve had an X-E1 for quite a while but got out the habit of using it a bit, largely because it is slow in operation and AF. But the X-T10 is much nippier and has the flippy screen too.

Welcome to the Fuji Club, lovely image does your dog stay still like that? I have to have a biscuit or piece of chicken held up near the camera to keep mine still!!

Thanks both. No, she rarely stays still for more than a split second but my wife was behind me and holding her attention somehow.

I've got the 56mm for a third time now hopefully will keep it this time, will see how I get on but also interested in the 50mm f2 and 80mm Macro when they come out.

I'm also waiting on the 80mm Macro Andy.(y)

"I've got the 90mm and have used that several times with tubes etc with some good results. But at the moment my main Macro lens is the adapted 105mm Micro Nikkor (D) which I like very much and is optically excellent, but is not so easy to use on the Fooj because of the stop down metering/focusing etc"

Thanks George! I do like shots with mad detail, I must admit. I'm like the anti-Bruce Percy :).

Since this is a gear forum. it's probably also worth pointing out that this shot is much improved by the existence of a folding screen on the X-T10. This enabled me to hold the camera above my head, and get clear field between the top of the hedge and the background treeline, making the whole composition much tidier.

Great choice of lens too :)

I see you went with keeping the foreground straight. But I wonder would it work better with the horizon straight? It's the first thing I noticed [besides the cute doggy :) ]

A few from me from Boxing Day.
With the XT1 and 23mm F1.4

Thanks. It was an unconscious choice I made when taking the photo, but I thought the same after I posted it. Here it is straightened (mostly)

Complete opposite here, more of a cool winter sun clear day. At least you got some cool pics. Did I even touch my camera today? nope - on a lazy sod one here today :D

Haha, fair enough! I've not been out enough with mine recently, so it was a nice change.

Is the 50-140 f2.8 is too heavy to mount on to the xt1 without battery grip? Planning to sell my nikon 70-200 f2.8 and get something similar for my fuji as i planning to slowy get rid of my nikon.

Or thr 55-200 is better option? And cash in my pocket lol.

I would suggest you try both out to see which one meets your needs the best
Sometime dealers Like LCE have them and will have a item in the used stock that they will transfer to a local branch for you to view and try out.
My first tele/zoom was the XC 50-230mm which gave me some quality images and can be picked up cheap.
I now own the XF 100-400mm and recently purchased the 50-140mm from the classifieds here on TP:):fuji:

30 secs later he was in full on chase mode after a squirrel, luckily he can't climb trees !!

Don't talk to me about friggin squirrels. Had our Spaniel out this morning and had him harnessed up to a waist lead so I could take photos. I didn't get any photos as he pulled me down an embankment chasing a squirrel.20161231_110238.jpeg

@Thunderbird010 @yamahatdm900 @snerkler @Greggster @dancook @Stephen L Thank you all very much! I have a few more from the same evening, so I'm hoping to build up a set. it's a great place to be at night if you have time to do a bit of trial and error on the exposure front...

@dancook Funnily enough, although the sun does set over there at the moment, that's actually light from the railway line! I've just taken enough of the orange out of it to look fairly natural. But don't tell anyone! :-)
