The Fabulous Fuji X owners thread

I'd put Fuji at the top of the mirrorless pile when it comes to menus. Mirrorless menus are inherently more complex due to more adjustability, but imo Fuji do a pretty good job of it.

Olympus isn't great, and from experience the E-M1 manual definitely needs a quick read due to the fact a single lever changes nearly every control in an instant, which is confusing if you've accidently switched it and have no idea what's going on! Sony, however, is top of the pile of awfulness (RX1, a7 and a7II, not sure about a7RII), related things are split into entirely different areas with no logic to them at all. And, whilst being able to install apps is nice, there is no nice interface to them, it literally just loads a browser on the LCD which you have to navigate, terrible!

I bought a mint one from them on Tuesday with a grip thrown in (and I bought it before they reduced the price slightly, so they credited my account with the difference yesterday!) for under £500, pretty pleased with that.

I wonder if they came from an agency or something, as they added about 50 odd of them in one hit yesterday.

Maybe
Very good price. eBay?

Not ebay. In a local London Camera Exchange store and it come with 6month warranty.

That is a cracking shots Was that with the 56mm as the DOF of it is great..

Never been able to get hold of one of these Danbo

Andrew, do you look at threads on a phone?? I ask this as often you ask for the lens data/camera settings, and more often than not it's shown in the EXIF data on the flickr link.If you are thread reading in a computer browser then the data is a click away.!!!!

In this case the picture was taken with the 16-55 at 55mm at f2.8 ISO200 1/60second on an X-T2

Sorry Yes I was on the phone as when I posted

I am not on MacBook and now see the data. I apologise

Annoyingly, tapatalk used to offer to open those links in the Flickr app, meaning you'd see metadata etc. The latest update opens it inside tapatalk in some kind of browser shell :/

Edit: NVM just found the option to kill the built in browser :D

!
My Fuji doesn't have anywhere near as much adjustability as my D750, neither did my EM5-II or EM10 ;) My EM5-II had more options than the Fooj though IIRC.

If you click the image on the iphone it still takes you to flickr to be able to see the basic EXIF (y)

In tapatalks settings you can check the option "do not use built in browser".

Then, when someone posts a Flickr link you'l see the picture with a link underneath. Click the link - not the picture, and Android will ask you what program you want to use to open it, then choose the flickr app (if you have it installed).

On the iPhone (and android if I recall) just click on follow link and it goes to Flickr, all the useful exif was there

Should be I just did, scrolled down a little and it was there

Has anyone else stopped getting email notifications from TP today?

Who signs up for email notifications??
It's just automatic when someone responds to a thread, I'm too lazy to untick the box to disable it ;)

Threads like these I watch using the participated option on the app, I always turn these off, lots of chatter, but things like specific interest or buying/selling always leave those on

Went out with all my bodies and lenses the other day. I've now got them all set up in their own "kit bags" to make for easy use and I'm quite happy with the end result.

XE1 with 27mm for a pocketable camera that can go anywhere just in case and with a 40mm focal length is pretty good for most things and very compact.

XT1 with grip and 18-135 along side the 60mm macro for my country walks with the dogs and wildlife with a gorilla tripod and manfrotto compact monopod. Again, a one camera and lens affair with the 60mm thrown in the pocket should the occasion present its self.

XPRO1 and XPRO2 with the 18f2, 23f1.4, 35f1.4 and 56f1.2. For street, architecture, landscape, portrait and generally any other kind of photography where I want to try and be my best. Will have a 90f2 to throw in the bag with these too shortly and I'll be one happy chap! I know that with he XPRO2 there isn't much need for the XPRO1 but when your in full manual mode there's no difference really bar the sensor and processing speeds so I get to see the lovely XTrans1 in action from time to time still.

I am starting to use the XT1 much more now and it's certainly being shown up a little by the XPRO2 but I'm going to hold off on an XT2 for the time being as im moving house to somewhere a little quieter and with better access for work.

Anyone fancy a Manchester outing with their XT2 for me to have a brief real world butchers? :D

Who has used there XT2 for star trails/Milky way shots?
Never done any but do fancy having a go I do have a Fuji 14mm so hopefully that will do.
What settings on long exposure noise reduction do people use?

I had a failed walk about this afternoon. I was trying to find the perfect spot for a shot of Stirling castle with snowy mountains behind. Think I found the perfect vantage point for the shot I had envisaged but wasn't brave enough to ring the doorbell and ask for access to an upstairs room  So I kept walking and just to justify having walked for ages carrying the camera I made an attempt at a panoramic view including the castle and mountains beyond. By this time I had wandered a bit so the mountains are to the far left and the castle to the right.

Thanks for this, just ordered a couple (y)
Likewise! (y) I always end up spending too much at this time of year. I'll put these Pro cards in the X-T2 and keep the SanDisk extreme cards as spares. Bought 12 months subscription to PS/LR yesterday. And hope to pick up a tripod on Friday if I make it to town.

Nice Colin, though there's an odd vertical banding going on in the sky (5 or maybe 6 slightly darker bands). Does this often happen with X-T* panos?

Most of my Panos have had banding. Shame you can't extract each frame and use the pano feature in LR.

Thought I had cleared that up! looks OK on this monitor at the moment. Basically it was introduced when I used dehaze and tried to pull the exposure back in the sky a bit in LR.

You need to go back to 2010 ... :D
