The Fabulous Fuji X owners thread

Hi Steve, I bought the Strom Thou new 11yrs ago and love it, it ticks all the boxes for me. I've had MANY styles of motorcycle's over the years, been riding for 39yrs.
We're hoping to organise another 2wk European motorcycle trip in around Aug/Sept 2020, our last trip abroad was 2012, such a fabulous 2wks exploring mainly Switzerland and Austria, sublime scenery/memories, rode 3k miles on that trip...... wonderful!

Peter

I used to regularly do £2k mile euro trips on my GSX-R & Fireblade in years gone by. Haven't had a bike for a few years but hope to be back on one next year. I was thinking of the 650 rather than the Thou' though....

The Strom 650cc machine would be excellent for trips abroad etc...!!

I've owned a 954 Blade, and a K3 and K4 Gixer thous, amazing stealth machinery.

Just got an email from Uncle Fooj offering 50 quid off selected prime lenses. Seems to be the ’slower’, ie f2-ish, ones. Worth checking your email if anyone is about to pull the trigger on a new prime.

Camera Jungle have X-T2s for £400 at the moment, I had two delivered today, completely mint. Absolute steal at that price.

X-T3 + XF56mm f1.2 today, had to take the shot side ways on as his young boy was the other side of him.

Two very nice candid street style Fujigraphs, liking both of these very much.

60mm comes into its own when fitted to tubes. Nice images.

Ok so this is a somewhat boring shot I know but it was more of a test than anything else.

That test was to see how well my Carl Zeiss Jena Sonnar 135mm prime -

A) Renders itself
B. Performs wide open at F3.5

At wide open its not bad at all for sharpness and the bokeh is nice and smooth. Definitely a place in my bag for this lens even though subject matter will be more specific than normal.

Amazing what a 40+ year old lens can do

Nice lens that, had one a couple years back and used it on the XT1

This has probably been answered already, but our internet is slow and it would take forever to search, so, here we go.
I recently bought and XT3 with 18-55 kit lens.
A few years ago I had a couple of XT1’s and a few lenses, the lens I used most was the 18-55 and somehow, the front element got a scratch on it.
I’ve never used filters and I’ve never had a scratched lens before or since, but I don’t want to risk getting another scratch so thought about getting a filter for it.
Any suggestions for a really good quality skylight or UV filter?

Can you help me please.... When trying to import files into Lightroom, it is normally ok, but sometimes only lets me convert them to DNG. This seems to be only happening since the CC updated recently. Any ideas?

How are you finding the 16-80 performance wise? Can't help on the LR issue you're experiencing above, when it's asking you to convert to DNG can you not bypass that stage and just head straight to develop mode?

I feel I may have a good copy of the 16-80, but still haven't played much with it. I am loving the feel, size and even when heavily cropping some pictures I have found the IQ still to be good enough for me - these are quite low res pics.
Thanks for your help with LR, I am not sure about bypassing and will look into it, but I have always thought I had to import them first to the catalogue. (pretending to know what I am talking about ;))

I use to use UV filters from Hoya, very good indeed.

Spotted this cheeky little b****r, from the kitchen. Shot through glass patio doors. It did make me chuckle watching it :)

Very nice Fujigraph, well seen & caught and nicely composed.

I got roped into my daughters, media project. She`s doing a movie poster/DVD cover, and banner. She chose some spooky witch theme. Hopefully she can process the pix, but I got a couple of ones for myself. Light was pretty poor, hence the processing, but at iso 3200 what can you expect ;)
