”Cracking” portrait style Fujigraph, and very nicely presented in mono.

Another “Excellent” portrait style Fujigraph, good expression & pose with some fine facial detail.

Lovely portraits above..!! Superb Kris.

As I've now been reimbursed for my faulty/returned Viltrox 85 via Amazon, after a lot of thought and homework I've placed an order for a Samyang 135 f2, should be arriving next week.

Hello all. Newbie here and looking for used buying advice on the X-T1. A friendly chap on A N Other forum was selling his X-T2 and mentioned that the X-T1 probably suited my needs just as well.

There seem to be plenty around on the used market, but I'm wondering if any past/current owners can let me know about any likely age-related issues to check? For example, I had heard about some wear on the rubbery coating of the body. If it's just cosmetic, that wouldn't worry me.

TIA!

The rubber grips around mine began to peel off after about a year. I had bought it used but in perfect condition. Someone informed me that they'd had the same issue and they contacted Fuji [Ireland] to complain about the grips and request a re-skin. I thought I'd chance my arm, used XT1, no warranty, peeling grips - messaged them to ask about a re-skin anyway and they asked if I'd prefer to send it in or have a new grip pack sent out - for free! I chose the latter, I'd watched a video on changing the grips and it looked simple enough. Had the pack of new grips within a week and it took less than 10 minutes to remove the old grips, clean the body and attach the new ones. It really did look like new after. I don't know if Fuji still offer this, but there is no harm trying.

I'm considering moving to a Fujifilm X camera, I really like the size and some of the images [posted here have fantastic quality. Question is, which one should I go for (I know I should go for the best I can afford - but there are a few to choose from). I'm leaning towards an X-Pro 1 or X-Pro 2, but are the XTs just as good?

Perfect - that's good to know. I didn't realise it was DIYable. Thanks!

Out for a lovely sixty five mile run this morning, very chilly though! First time using the XF10-24 glass.
I think 'Classic Chrome' film simulation suits this scene.

Now this was a couple year ago, they may not offer the grip replacements anymore but like I say, there's no harm trying if it comes down to it.

Personally, I'd go for an X-H1.

I would obviously choose the X-H1 too, I mean I did :D having owned the xpro1 and XT1 , for me at least, the H1 body is significantly more comfortable and feels much more solid [I have not owned the T2 or 3] and has a much nicer shutter mechanism [again for me] - also, IBIS - I just love to have it. But then others don't like the 'heft' of the H1 and much prefer the T or pro bodies. The only way to really know is get to a camera store if you can and get some hands on, see what feels best for you personally. There's little difference between the output across the range, at the same gen at least

If it’s a choice between the XT’s and XPro’s then it’s down to the handling and viewfinder. Try and have a go with them and see which you prefer. If you want in-body IS then it’s a choice of one currently, (XH1) :) Personally, and it’s the one I bought, I think the XT2 is a steal at the minute. 600 quid new and a trade-in bonus to boot.

For the record, I dumped Nikon to move to Fuji and I’ve not regretted it for a moment. :p

:plus1::agree: to that. Fabulous bit of kit.

George.
Come on Rick, at least tell the man why!

If it were me, I'd go for an X-T2 or Xpro2 for VFM. If larger ergonomics and IBIS are deal breakers then the X-H1.

Thanks all, plenty for me to think about. Now to consider selling my Nikon kit ;)

Switching from Canon, I went more the more DSLR like ergonomics of the X-T2, rather than the range finder style X-Pro2, there were deals on the X-T2 at the time too, as the X-T3 had just been announced. Maybe there are deals on X-Pro2 now though.
If you can get to a shop and get a feel for them, that is obviously the best bet.
Rather than selling my Canon kit I walked into LCE and swapped for my Fuji kit, I probably didn’t get the best deal, but it was a quick and easy transaction.

I recently sold all my Nikon lenses to MPB Photographic, must say an easy and hassle free experience.

I'd say the X-T2 body is a bit of a bargain as the Fuji Refurb store has them for £449 etc...

Jessops had a trade-in bonus on when I chopped my Nikon stuff in so I did pretty well out of it. I traded enough Nikon gear to get an X-T2 and lenses and the left over Nikon stuff went to MPB for cash. I came out of it all in profit, even after buying a Samyang 12mm. Short version is, keep a look out for deals. There’s cashback on lenses at the minute. Fuji seem to have endless offers.

Pretty much word for word as per the reply below. I do also have the X-T3 which I bought first, the AF is better on the T3, and I use that if I am doing faster subjects, but for the most part I prefer the H1.

That’s one very nice Fujigraph, with good comp’ & colour.

I've been thinking about a Vstrom. Rode one as a loaner while my GSX-R was in for a service and it has to be the most comfortable bike I have ever ridden...

Looking to get a bike for next spring and the Vstrom is high on the list.

Hi Steve, I bought the Strom Thou new 11yrs ago and love it, it ticks all the boxes for me. I've had MANY styles of motorcycle's over the years, been riding for 39yrs.
We're hoping to organise another 2wk European motorcycle trip in around Aug/Sept 2020, our last trip abroad was 2012, such a fabulous 2wks exploring mainly Switzerland and Austria, sublime scenery/memories, rode 3k miles on that trip...... wonderful!
