Interestingly, he said that predominately younger people saw white and gold, where nearly all older (over 50 was mentioned) saw black and blue.
Oooooh - that must mean that I'm young

White by mpg Photo's, on FlickrThey had an expert on the radio explaining it was due to the way the brain was interpreting it. As we normally see in daylight with blues for the sky or warm colours from the sun, our brains interpret those colours and correct accordingly. Hence the difference depending on which colour you corrected for.

I've always agreed with a pale blue, well lavender / violet or whatever its called,Someone did that much earlier in the day, tweeted a screen shot of the results which Adobe picked up on and confirmed it was accurate, blue and black.
I've always agreed with a pale blue, well lavender / violet or whatever its called,
but its certainly not black to my eyes or the sampling I did, burnt gold or dirty brown maybe.
But all this is quite scary considering we all edit images![]()
Yeah I get what you are sayingFunnily enough, J said the same, its kind of brown and cornflower blue and yes, to describe it exactly, that is what I see... however, the photographer in me sees crap interior lighting and lousy phone picture and pretty much automatically assumes the rest - it's a blue and black dress badly photographed. The whole blue balck comes from the fact that is actually what it is and has been broadcast right from the off as such, so even if you see mid blue and dirty brown, you know what you are seeing is black/blue, definitely not the other option of white and gold, if that makes sense?
I suspect that the white / gold was a rumour started by someone pimping TBH![]()
You never know your luckI am hoping my website hits have gone through the roof
and on that note, I really am going to bed, 6am alarm set![]()
That was exactly my reasoning in the office today when the White/gold gang argued that since my colori meter showed an olive it couldn't possibly be black and thus I must be wrong about the blue as well. :God:Funnily enough, J said the same, its kind of brown and cornflower blue and yes, to describe it exactly, that is what I see... however, the photographer in me sees crap interior lighting and lousy phone picture and pretty much automatically assumes the rest - it's a blue and black dress badly photographed. I'd say smoked but looks like it could do with re-visiting the pan for a couple of minutes longerquestion is, was it smoked or not...
No in her case the blood which may come from her or someone else would instigate a very different conversation. But none of that is applicable to this dress though.

You can always start your own thread and get that conversation going![]()
Well I've read the whole thread and I'm shocked at this comment! Scotch on your all bran? Yuk! Baileys Irish cream much nicer! He's probably tried drowning his old age sorrows with some Scotch on his all-bran at breakfast so is seeing colours a bit oddly...![]()
