Quite a few years ago now, I had issues eating where sometimes, with certain foods especially, the food would get stuck in my oesophagus (sp) obviously not life threatening, but also not nice as often the only option was for it eventually come back up - sorry if it's teatime when you're reading this

I had a camera down there into my stomach and no serious issues except the ridges on the tube causing the problem. They put me on Omeprazole which worked & I eventually stopped taking it.
Anyway, the last few months it's started happening again although not as bad. So seeing as I'm getting married mid April, I went to the doctor in mid February expecting to walk out with a prescription for Omeprazole again. They decided to send me for another camera (which I appreciate just an case of any changes) the first one got cancelled, I had to wait a short while for the second which was 12th March - the doctor doing the camera said I should just be treated with medication, which is what I wanted in the first place. That was all done & on the report on my records she said 40mg Omeprazole for 8 weeks then 20mg maintenance dose. Phoned the doctor on the 17th to see what was happening next and was told they have the report & have 2 weeks to act on it - said about the getting married thing. Phone 10 days later & was told they have no copy of the report to act upon...... The receptionist was great though, she chased my records up, pulled them across to my file and called me back within 10 minutes to say she's passed it all to a doctor to review with an 'urgent' tag on it

I then get a message Friday afternoon to book a telephone appointment with a clinical pharmacist to discuss my medication request - the next available time is the 3rd April.....
So I've gone from 2 months before the wedding to get the medication in my system and working, to 2 weeks before the wedding to even discuss it with someone.... and then however long it takes to actually get it in my hand to take! Why does it need to be discussed? I was on it before. It worked. And it's what the specialist/consultant have told them to put me on weeks ago.....
I don't want to sat at the top table on my wedding day, choking on my £90 bit of lamb
