What we thinking, A7R5?

The isolation and detail of tree and the tones in general, you would be forgiven for thinking this is a MF shot! I've followed a lot of your work and you really do have your editing nailed down perfectly as well.
Isn't that about double what the current R goes for.£3999 they must be mad.
The Rii came out at £2500 and following Brexit and fall of GBP they put the price up to £3200. Then the Riii was released at the same price i.e. £3200. Riv was released for £3500.Isn't that about double what the current R goes for.
When the original R cane out I think I paid about £1800 for it.
It shouldn't really. The Rii came out at £2500 and following Brexit and fall of GBP they put the price up to £3200. Then the Riii was released at the same price i.e. £3200. Riv was released for £3500.
So Rv with all the advancements if they are indeed more than just incremental is bound to put the price up.
Completely agree, I'm actually very jealousThe isolation and detail of tree and the tones in general, you would be forgiven for thinking this is a MF shot! I've followed a lot of your work and you really do have your editing nailed down perfectly as well.

As Nandbytes has said the A7RIV was £3499 at launch, given the value of the pound since then it was always going to go up. I'd also guess that chips shortages have raised prices too. All that being said, camera prices are getting way over anything I can ever afford/be willing to pay. I'm glad I got my A9-II from Panamoz when I did, I got a relative bargain as they're currently a few hundred more than I paid.Isn't that about double what the current R goes for.

I get that prices across the board have gone up but just releasing a new tech product doesn't increase your price year on year.
You can actually have situations where variants after your first units are cheaper to make even with higher tech parts.
They are making a lot of profit on these cameras.

I know all about chip shortages, dealing with it at work. We buy our sensors in (Sony ones) and we make the rest.Tell that to phone manufacturers
Eventually £2K for a phone will be normal.
They are definitely making lot of profit but I think as commented on above making chips are becoming more expensive thanks to the shortages. Also ILC market is now a high profit margin but low sales kind of business.
Most of the lower end bodies are no longer being made.
I think prices will continue to increase in this space
Ooh, I wonder if it will be like the A77 or more like Fuji's implementation? I'd miss the blackout free shooting and drive dial still though so I'm happy to stick with my A9ii@snerkler - looks like the fully articulating screen is back?

Black Friday's just around the corner too.Seems like phone prices can drop quickly. I was surprised to get a phone that's been out for less than 18 months for just over £200. Mrs WW is after a new phone but she says the price will drop after Xmas so she'll wait until then.

I guess depends on who the PM is and how much they have tanked GBP.So what do we reckon Grey price will be in a couple of months .... 3.5k or less?

I missed the drive dial when I moved to the A7RIV, and miss blackout free when I use my Olympusyeah wondering the same. not sure but I have a feeling it'll be more like Fuji.
you think you'll miss them but you won't![]()

Waiting for E-INFINITY to get the Tamron 20-40 probably wait a while as lenses always seem to drop a bit in price after the initial rush.
Just wanted to mention - I upgraded from a7II to a7c and have to say that low light performance difference is HUGE.
On a7II, ISO above 1600 had bad grain in low light, now with a7c even above 6000 its nice and smooth.
Viewfinder - it was my main concern, but once I put my eye to it - I was surprised - its perfectly fine! Why the hell people complain about it I have no idea!
Funny part is, that now when I have a7c, I need to upgrade my lens - Tamron 24/2.8 AF is now loud and slow, so once I sell it, I'll get Sony 24/2.8 G.
Fuji X100s news.
The metering is on crack. It's the first time I've used it in sunny conditions and it's all over the place, it's choosing high ISO's and fast shutter speeds.

Waiting for the ..... "I have sent it back" .....![]()
I've not used any Sony VF that I thought was great yet, there's always graininess when focussing. From memory the Z7 EVF was much nicer.I guess people get used to the very good and notice anything less.
All my cameras have useable VF's, it's just a matter of degrees of goodness![]()

Only 1000 or so people watching the A7rV presentation on YouTube!!

I wonder if it's something they could add via firmware on the rest of the cameras.it has focus bracketting!!! finally!!!
Definetely buying three of these now![]()
I certainly hope at least to all the latest iterations of each line.I wonder if it's something they could add via firmware on the rest of the cameras.
you can probably safely assume it will be around the same as A7rIV with a wee bit better ISO performance thanks to the newer processorThat was OK, but nowhere near enough technical detail on the sensor performance![]()
