The Amazing Sony A1/A7/A9/APS-C & Anything else welcome Mega Thread!

I don't think you are nuts, I just don't get it. My mum has handbags that make wotonkraft look cheap. I don't get that either.

I really liked the Thinktank, the canvas was soft and luxurious. But couldn't get on with it, felt heavy and uncomfortable on the shoulder so sent it back. The Wotancraft has a vintage look, is meant to be very lightweight and the material has a nice look and texture.

IMO that's not prohibitively expensive.

I've always been tempted by their Ryker but I don't think it'd like visits to the beach or woodlands.

Yeah, in the scheme of things I guess it's not that expensive. I nearly
bought an £80 Vanguard Veo bag in Jessops and while it was comfortable and did everything I wanted, I wasn't keen on the look and wouldn't have enjoyed using it that much. I think like all things to do with photography, it's as much about enjoying the experience of the gear we have as well as the photos we take.

Raymond Lin has a Ryker, he's got some very nice looking photos of it.

I have a couple of Town and Country bags which I think where a shops own brand and they've lasted oh I don't know maybe 40 years + and are still in good condition. How's that for value :D

That's good going. :) Anything like this?

One more from Stonehenge...
35GM, 13 photos stack for 78 seconds exposure

Cracking image. Is that 13 x 6 second exposures.

Buying a good bag is like trying to find a good pair of headphones your always chasing the Rainbow :).... I really need to go into a shop and play with them all...

There is no such thing as the perfect bag, At last count I have 22 camera bags.

I use 3 very large Lowepro bags and a roller case for work, then break down into 2 Billingham bags when needed.

The rest of them hardly ever get used and are living in the roof space at the moment. People keep on buying me them and occasionally I will buy one myself, got to keep the roof space restocked. Never see the point in selling them for all a used bag is worth. When the roof space is filled will just ditch them all.

I have

1 large Pelican
1 Carry on size Pelican
1 Thinktank
1 Crumpler backpack
1 Crumpler Messenger
1 Crumpler Half/Half
1 Wotoncraft
1 Lowerpro - this was free or something, only holds a camera with a short lens attached and nothing else, it's rather useless.

Gave away a Samsonite to a friend last year that i haven't touched in years.

Only the Wotoncraft and the half half I bought for my personal use, the latter actually became more a daily backpack, my Fuji lives in there.

Sennheiser HD580/600. Found them 20 years ago, had loads too since then are those are still the best. The Sony MDR-1000x comes close for noise cancelling but none for comfort.

Yeah I have both of the Sony’s in ear and over the ear, they do sound amazing
Also got B&O h9i which are nice
Bose also best thing about Bose is the way they work easy buttons no touch rubbish for my sausage fingers
The new Sony MK4 in ears look nice just waiting for price to drop a little

ray I have a lowe pro sling which is ok but I’m sure there something better
My manfrotto bumblebee is good for my 24-105 and 100-400 but if u had to choose one for a 24-105 A1 and 14-24 which of you collection would be best and small

My favourite camera only bag is my Wotoncraft Ryker (now discontinued).

It will fit your A1 + 2 lenses easily.

You can fit it like this.

Or if you have it pointing down like this you can fit in 3 lenses.

For extra security, tuck it inside the leather band. You would have no idea this is a camera bag, which is what I love about it.

If I were to buy again, I get the Wotoncraft that @Merlin5 just bought. I think he has the 7L one, not sure if it's the same size, I think it would be close. the 10L one you can fit a small laptop in.

For me it's...
Billingham Hadley pro small. This will take my A7 and lens plus my GX80 and 45-150mm or water bottle / food.
Billingham digital (my second of those.)
Two Town and Country. The one I've used the most will take my A7 and a number of primes depending on size.
Lowepro Apex 100 which will take my A7 and Sony 35mm f2.8.
Another two Lowepros, I'm not sure of model numbers, a big one and one small one :D
and a man bag from the floating market. There's no padding but so far my camera gear has been safe.

I do at some point want a Ryker style leather bag making from old leather jackets. I've had one for knocking on 40 years. It has aeroplanes on the lining :D I got it to keep me warm when I got my first soft top. These days I drive my soft top in any and all weather wearing just shorts and a shirt, as any northerner should.

That is lovely and I've nearly bought one so many times but I think maybe the man bag and Billingham's and Lowepro's I have will handle the beach and branches and foliage better. I still want something like that though :D

Found an old photo that of the setup I took to Italy for a job.

Gear travelled in the Pelican. The Crumpler is my work messenger bag. It can hold 2 cameras + 2 more lenses and then 2 flashes + trigger and spare batteries and cards.

If it's less than £300 I will consider it, if it's less than £200 I would buy for fun.

I can't see it being that cheap as these are usually very well made quality lenses not cheap Chinese fun lenses.

I don't think it will be that cheap. If the APS-C 33mm f0.95 lens is anything to go by this won't be "joke" f0.95 lens with mushy corners and soft centres

Or wife … :exit:

My most used camera bag. I thought it was £10 but Mrs WW says it was more like £4 as although Thai prices look expensive there are 40 odd baht to the £.

My bag just arrived! Haven't unboxed it yet but excited to test it. :)
Ah interesting, my headphones are also the HD580 which I bought in 2004. Like wearing slippers on my head, so comfortable and such a warm and basically uncoloured sound. I pair them with a tiny FiiO E11K Kilimanjaro headphone amp. Also have three pairs of wired buds and two pairs of TWS buds.

Nice. Looks like the soft canvas of the Thinktank I had.

There's no padding or velcro partitions as it's not a camera bag but as long as the bag doesn't take a hard knock it's ok and carries plastic bags for shopping, wipes, a spare battery, close up filter and a water bottle and snacks. I usually use this when we take the scenic route to walk to the shops or at the coast. I have a very similar one but with fewer compartments I bought in the UK for £10.

2.1kg :(

Ok this week bag fix done. Ordered a Wootancraft 7L didnt fancy the 10L as its a little to large for street....ill add it to the Bag pile that sits alongside the Headphone Pile

Sigma 150-600mm can do 0.34x magnification vs. 0.2x 200-600mm of the Sony.
That caught my interest since I really miss that about the 100-400GM.

But does it support 20/30fps?

I always found the close focus ability of the Sigma 50-500mm really useful and unlike the 200-600mm it doesn't have any focus breathing to talk of either.

Not worried about 20 fps ... looks like I have found my first Sony E fit lens.

Surprised there no Peak Design bag fans here... I have their 10L sling and love it; capture clip on the end to attach the camera when in use. Even with it inside, still space inside for 2 lenses, batteries, with tripod slung underneath too.

Love mine.

I actually used my camera recently (having been side-tracked with a drone...) - was fun!

I have the PD 10 litre, 5 litre, and 20 litre backpack. Clever ideas, but I’m not keen on the opening on the slings. Awkward to close them one-handed.

Mine certainly took some loosening up / wearing in before it became easy, especially the front pocket which was actually hard to use. Don't find the main lid tricky though. They've since done a v2 release which looks marginally better, but I see no need to switch.
