Didn't you say that about the 35GM?
Basically you are getting the first stock from panamoz aren't you?![]()
True.
Will try to stick to it this time though.

Well I can still see from the pictures that the gap is smaller regardless of mount size etcHmm.... You can't quite compare lenses like so. Well you can but not sure it'll tell you the the right story. Because of the larger mount and longer flange the canon lenses will be fatter and overall setup end up slightly longer.
Basically to add if you want more finger room with large mount the only way to do it is with a larger body but your overall setup will still be longer because of longer flange.Well I can still see from the pictures that the gap is smaller regardless of mount size etc![]()

Yeah I get that, my point was the 50mm f1.2 on the Canon has less room than the Sony with 85mm DG DN and as there's barely enough room on the Sony I wouldn't be able to use the Canon with 50mm f1.2. It was just an observation, I have no intention of getting the Canon, nor can afford a 50mm f1.2Basically to add if you want more finger room with large mount the only way to do it is with a larger body but your overall setup will still be longer because of longer flange.
S1R is a fair bit bigger and more importantly wider to get a decent room between lens and grip. R5 is wider than A9II but the increase in its width is in line with the extra diameter of the mount. Plus the lenses are fatter. So you will have the same problem you do with Sony unless they make the RF bodies bigger/wider.

"The new FE 50mm F1.2 GM will be available in May and will be sold for approximately $2,000.00 USD "
oh noes.... that's coming into "may be I can afford one" GAS territory
Aye, and the rest ...You'd have to really like your 50mm lenses to pay that much. I'd want a camera with it for that.
But is it worth it?
I’ll rephrase it. What type of photographer and photography would benefit from it? Not knocking it, just genuinely curious as to the market.Depends who you ask.

The 50mm f1.2 has been officially announced and there are reviews to read and watch.
So, who's getting one?

I have never actually owned a 50/1.2, the Canon EF wasn't that great, opted at the time for the Sigma 50/1.4. I will get it, but not at launch, the ZA does everything just fine. More interested to get the 35GM first.

Nicely done, great composition withe the boat in the background."IT MADE EXPLORE"![]()
Just a simple Landscape type Snapograph taken at Dungeness Kent UK of a discarded Fishermans Hut with a discarded Fishing Boat in the background of which both have been left to rot. On the right is one of the old railway lines that were used for hauling the boats or catch up the beach from the sea. I've deliberately gone for a higher contrast gritty look for this snap to emphasize the desolate terrain, decay & textures etc.
I'm also working on a personal project called Things Left Behind and this will be one of the shots included.

Sony are impressing me with their lenses. I can't afford most of them, but it's really establishing itself as a VERY competitive system.Got to admit, with this 50/1.2 release it made sticking with Sony long term a lot more attractive.

Id like to see a 70-200 like canons extending RF versions. Canons RF versions are so compact and light. The F4 versions isn’t that much bigger than their 24-105 f4.Sony are impressing me with their lenses. I can't afford most of them, but it's really establishing itself as a VERY competitive system.

The tamron 70-180mm is optically better.
RF lenses on the whole are a bit disappointing so far.
Unless canikon release a game changer like a 200mm the size of a pancake lens or 60mp global shutter.Got to admit, with this 50/1.2 release it made sticking with Sony long term a lot more attractive.
Shows its true colours from 180mmCan’t keep comparing apples to oranges. I like the Tamron, but it’s crap at 200mm
