The Amazing Sony A1/A7/A9/APS-C & Anything else welcome Mega Thread!

No IBIS or IBIS?
I prefer IBIS particularly for adapted lenses, but I do have 2 ISS lenses. Has the A6400 any IQ benefits in the real world, such as dynamic range?

Same... A6500 has IBIS the A6400 has better AF inc real time tracking so depends what you value more.

I love my 6500, I’ve only really used it for macro up until recently but I’m setting it up for video now. The A9 will stay connected to the 200-600 for the time being.

My pictures seem to look really soft here recently. Has anyone else noticed softeness?

I'm using imgur and I'm sure things looked a lot crisper a while ago. Has something changed?

I've been complaining of this for quite some time, to the point photos look embarrassingly soft and so I feel the need to mention it. To say this is a dedicated photography website I find it very odd that this has not been addressed. My photos look much better on other non-photography dedicated sites.

I always have a look at the Flickr ones if they are shared here, as they are always sharper and show better detail.

It's not great. Best option is to probably upload via Flickr and then people can be re-directed onto there. Not ideal but at least that way the full image with settings can be viewed also.

That's what I do (y)

I'm sure I remember pictures looking sharper some time ago so I just wondered if something had changed? Maybe I'm remembering it wrong and they've always been soft.

I remember posting from photobucket they looked very soft and I immediately saw a difference for the better when I changed to imgur, but they look soft now too.

oh welll.

Sony firmware update for the A6600 adds A mount adapter support.

Not Sony but maybe interesting, another blogger takes a rest...

I thought this was interesting as it highlights that things are changing.

I started with my Kodak Instamatic when I was 10, had only compacts until I was in my 20's or 30's and have now had my A7 for something like 7 years and these days I mostly use old manual lenses. I may have to give up the manual lenses if my eyesight fades but I can't see myself ever getting into video or taking pictures with a mobile phone unless there's some unforeseen seismic change in my life.

Anyway, it's there to be read if anyone is interested. I've only read the odd thing from him but every one lost is IMO a shame.

As it's quiet.

A7 and NK 24mm f2.8 again. Coffee at the coast...

This is a lovely lens but quite affected if the sun is around. I'm sure I have a hood that'll fit so I think I'll give it a try and see if it helps with the flare or vignettes.
