Life seems to be almost returning to normal here. The restrictions and one way systems are disappearing from some if not all shops but the majority of people are wearing face masks and at least to a degree social distancing. Without wanting to resort too much to sweeping stereotypes those not wearing masks and not social distancing often seem to be the sort of people you'd guess wouldn't bother from the look of them.
I looked up the stats for my area and was pleasantly surprised. Here's hoping things get better not worse.
I'm glad I didn't buy it last week when I almost convinced myself.
Something similar to this started me on my obsession on old manual glass, all the memorable photos I saw when younger were taken on lenses that were nowhere near as sharp as modern lenses.Sharpness is all in the mind now days. Look at the Masters of Photography, not all of their great images were sharp yet loved by all.

Strange, i don't have the option of finance on my Amazon Prime
If you're using a modern high end camera and lens, lack of sharpness might be a sign of a defect with the kit. Worth exploring if it isn't lack of sharpness due to UE

Same price at Park with 2 years interest free
Thanks, but not something I'll be buying, I was just trying to tempt @LeeRatters even more.![]()
I remember seeing it a few weeks ago on a Sony A9 but just checked again and it's vanishedNot sure what the criteria is, it's not offered on every item. Our Prime account is a student one so maybe it's just to entice students to go further into debt![]()
Well sold all my Nikon Z gear at the weekend ready to go back to Fuji.
Ended up with an A73 instead which has been delivered today. Need to wait for lenses now.
I’ve been waiting for it on the Sony 70-200mm f4 or Tamron 70-180mmI remember seeing it a few weeks ago on a Sony A9 but just checked again and it's vanished![]()
The rule of thumb for all of the U.K areas is that if more than 30 people per 100,000 are infected full lockdown measures are put back in place immediately according to our head scientist interview on the telly this morning.
Northern Ireland is currently running at 24 in 100,000 and we are looking likely to go back into full lockdown from tomorrow evening or at least severe restrictions put in place anyway.
England is running at 22, so it may not be long before the same happens there as well.
I think this Sony thread is growing.
This is a 9 picture stitch. I just wondered how the stitching would cope with the cables and it did quite a good job with just the central frame needing to be fettled with the clone tool. It's doubtless not perfect and it doesn't look like reality with mad barrel like distortion but no one looking at this as a print would notice.
A7 and Sony 35mm f2.8.

The Nikon 50mm f1.8 works well with my No.4 close up filter.

The portrait orientation looks fine on phone but as always on this forum you can never view the whole image on large screen.
@LeeRatters Much prefer the second photo, no people in the foreground being a distraction

I find that you need the medium 800 x 533 if you want a portrait image to fit the screen on here.Yeah. First was just sat inside the beach tent
Okay. I know sharing at 1600 long (same as landscape) has been mentioned before so that's the next size down.
There is something really nice about that lens ! I regret selling mine !

Three very nice shots Alan, but particularly liking the lovely relaxed looking shot of your wife.
