WEX have reduced the prices on all the Samyang lenses there. 18mm is £249.
It always amazes me when people pay much more for a Leica that's really just a Panasonic.
Yeah but like most people, I thought I had bought at a good (low) price.... then the Oil war began between Saudi and Russia and COVID-19 crisis has just caused a epic bloodbath on the markets..... we are now in unprecedented timesaren't those kinda the opposite. if one does the well the other dies![]()
you've always seemed to have a dislike for Leica and seem to think people just like them for the red badge bragging rights. ive never owned one, but having had a play with a few they do seem really nice. certainly beats the experience of using an A7.

and
Naaa its only the lower-end point and shoot bodies which seem to have more Panasonic in them.
The Lecia Q2 is a beast and feels nothing like a Panasonic.
Yeah mmmm I feel that same about my Fuji X100V, the experience is different compared to my Sony A9 .... I am now shooting at 1 fps at slug pace instead of Jedi lightening 20 fps lol.you've always seemed to have a dislike for Leica and seem to think people just like them for the red badge bragging rights. ive never owned one, but having had a play with a few they do seem really nice. certainly beats the experience of using an A7.
there isn't a panasonic version of most leicas tbh.
But they have done rebadge jobs, a few of them. You do know that.
It's the buying into the mystique and buying almost blindly that I don't get.
Ha ha, hedging his bets.aren't those kinda the opposite. if one does the well the other dies![]()

It's a very risky business if I am being honest..... I am a complete beginner, however I really do think Tesla is a good long-term investment, however BP PLC was a punt hoping they would go back up eventually .... with COVID-19 added to the mix, I think we may not see positive gains for a very long time.I was holding my then house deposit in cash in 1987, someone in my office suggested that I invested it in th eintial BP share flotation, with a view to cashing out hours later, as all public offerings at the time were giving huge investor returns (BT, British Gas, etc), I even went as far as getting all the forms (paper not online in those days). I didn't go ahead and pleased I didn't as Black Monday 1987 happened, and I would have caught a large cold!
they and those also hold their value a lot better than panasonic ones.

A7 are seriously better to hold than a lot of the leicas with no grip and slippery bodies.
Are there any good investments these days?
Actually you've probably done quite well with vintage glass(and thats a compliment not a dig
)
4TB HGST, expensive but supposedly scores top marks for reliability by Backblaze.

Good photo's you'll soon pass 1500 photo's taken on your Sony A9
Do you really need more lenses having only taken 1500 photos with what you have got?![]()
I have been out to the Yorkshire Wildlife Park plenty of times..... I think the FE 70-200mm f4 would be suitable, had the FE 70-200mm f2.8 and the weight it big.85 is my portrait

Best investments are stainless steel sport model Rolex watches if you have someone that can hook you up.

Tried a samyang 18mm lens just now. It was decentred.
The lens I really want is the new Sony 20mm f1.8. think I'll just wait, I can't be arsed with samyang QC.
why not just keep the 24mm? The 20mm is good but not as good as the 24.
hmmm.... well I always wanted a 20mm/1.8 and a 35mm/1.8 both of which Sony didn't do until recently. So I bought the 24GM as a workaround and ended up liking it a lot!
Not I have 35mm-55mm-85mm-135mm all f1.8. the 24GM is the only f1.4, the OCD in me really wants a f1.8 lol.
What the Sony 35mm 1.8 like
