Yep, the Sony A9 II is a smashing camera, the original A9 isnt bad either.

Yup I am keeping the FE 35, 55 and 85m f1.8 primes lenses as they offer the best combination when it comes to size, cost, and weight.
What I would like is Sony to bring out is a Sony version of a FE 24mm f1.8 to match my set. On the long-end I can't see myself needing a tele-photo unless we go on Safari or something worth hiring or buying it for.
Going to continue down the path of using my setup as much as possible, post-process lightly and print out on my Selphy. Got to get the family album populated

It's too much money for what I would use it for, something like the Sony 1.8 primes in terms of cost and optics would be great.

And of course you can if you like skip the journey and just buy that kit on day 1

I’ve just done something similar myself. I’d decided the 70-200 f4 wasn’t being used so I sold it. Selling my A7Riii and putting the 70-200 money covered the vast majority of the cost of an A9. I’m now down to just the A9, 24-105 and 100-400. I’m thinking less is more. I’m getting to a point in photography where you don’t need multiple lenses just because you may need it at some point. It feels nice having a limited amount of very good kit that I use. I’m happy carrying it around too. I’d gotten to a point where carrying heavy kit was becoming tiresome and took the fun away from photography.After reading on here about how well people are doing with the A9 for their bird photography I've decided to rationalise my kit and sell off stuff that I'm not using. I shall be moving on my A7RIII (which of course I do use), A7II and Sigma 135mm 1.8 ART and part exchange them for one of the many A9's on MPB and Wex.
I may put them up on here but I just can't seem to sell stuff in Classifieds, might put them in Price Checks though. Any ideas here would be most welcome. Now I'll have to sell the project to my wife

That's pretty much like what I'll be left with except I'll have the 24-70GM. I've realised that's all I need.
I’ve not had a chance to get out with it yet as work and dark night have got in the way. I’m hoping to get out this weekend to give it a run out. I’ve tried setting it up but I’m unsure of what I really want from the custom buttons as the A9 has some dedicated buttons for some of the bits I previously used.How you finding the A9 over the R, was it worthwhile us badgering you? I see you still need the 1.4x tc
It’s definitely freeing as I’m now using the smallest backpack I have for years. My f stop guru 25 litre bag is now my go to bag. It’s weird to think I used to use bags that were huge and sometimes cart around 12kg of kit.
