The Amazing Sony A1/A7/A9/APS-C & Anything else welcome Mega Thread!

Pretty amazing, Sony was playing catch up and now the others are.... all that R&D paid off.

meh, still no 1.8 primes or compact innovative lenses like nikon. Soon they'll be playing catch up on optics again.

Do you really believe Sony is going to sit around till 2021 and not have a response?

Innovative? Look mostly standard to me.

Or is that to negative for you?

300mm PF and the newly announced 500mm f5.6 PF are not normal. They also adapt and work like native lenses.

So right now Sony's adapter support is inferior too.

I'll certainly not wait till 2021 for them to respond. They better start responding quick.

Do they? DPR said that burst in AFC F mount sucks.

Inferior? Sony has translated high speed AF with canon lenses, lets see how Nikon does with that.

Go go go.

Sony has done no such thing. Metabones and sigma have. Sony only provides adapter support for a-mount lenses and so far seems inferior to Nikon with F-mount support.

A Sony representative stated how the a7r2 when launched had better support for adapting canon lenses

They donot officially support canon lenses and never will. They officially support Sony a-mount lenses.
Yup but they said they worked on making the cameras easier to adapt to canon lenses. They don't support it. They just made it easier. Let's see if we can adapt canon lenses on the nikon z

Err... Why would anyone bother. Plenty of F-mount lenses around which will be better supported officially by Nikon

As I undestood it Sony offered more than a fair a bit of support to Metabones. It's certainly highly unusual for a major manufacturer to have a third party adaptor prominent at the launch of one of their most important cameras for some time (a7Rii).

Ohh come on you’re one of the biggest fanboys on the forums and most of the posts on the Nikon thread are from Sony users :)

Naaa we just like to rip Nikon as we had to endure the same when the original A7 came out lol :D
