Yup, Jonney should get one and complete his unholy trinity.

In everyday shots its highly unlikely you'll notice, its only if you frame a group tight or manage to hit your target on that 1/4 RHS. Never seen CA as bad but fairly easy to manage. I found the AF really quick which is the major plus, the OOF areas are nice and smooth, it renders really nicely imo.
Its a nice lens just bloody annoying to pay top end money for dodgy QC and ultimately why I sent it back to try the incoming Sigma at a lot less money, I really hope they release a GM version and thats better.
Surprised he hasn't already bought one... @jonneymendozaYup, Jonney should get one and complete his unholy trinity.
Haha Na. Very similar to the A9!, I may get the a7s3 if it does 4k at 60fps or moreYup, Jonney should get one and complete his unholy trinity.
Group shots typically will be at deeper DOF and further away, that shouldn't be a problem. Won't be shooting landscapes, and anything at night will be F/5.6 or something.
The bonus thing I guess is this Zeiss is light, it is the highest of the 35 between the Canon, it is also lighter than the 50 CZ and the Sigma 50. Actually it feels cheap due to the lack of weight!
You need Sony permission for such a thing I imagine.
Because they can charge you 50 quid for a dock and may not have wanted to pay Sony for some sort of partnership/protocol. Sony has used Tamron designs in the past for lenses so they have history of working together like Zeiss.
Yeah, me to!
I am running out of space in my Pelican…1st world problems.
Should be okay then, you could try send it back to Sony if you find its an issue but from what I understand theres not much point as they cant really fine adjust the SZ35.
It comes in 30g less than the 35 ART. The 50 ART is substantially heavier.
Heres an annoying thing for me, the Samyang is a better performer optically and thats £500. AF is slightly quicker with the SZ though.
Lol, my 1 lens setup bag doesn't work for me anymore, gutted!
I've pre ordered the 105 sigma
I doubt tamron have to pay anything for it. That's the whole point of making it an open standard isn't it?
May be i am just used to the weight of the Canon, perhaps Sony will bring out a GM version but until then, this will have to do.
Now let's take some photos with it, that's the real test.

What makes the samyang optical better?

How do Nikon owner cope with everything reversed lenses? It's driving me potty.
I had Nikon years ago but I must have completely got used to doing things the way Nikon doesn't.
Other than being driven potty I'm loving these old pre Ai lenses.
You mean putting the lens on anti clockwise? Contrary to everything else in the world, ever?
Zoom Ring? Was your mouth out!I think he means zoom ring.
Zppm Ring? Was your mouth out!

@twist - so you are ok disclosing dog and cat faces but not human faces. how speciesist of you![]()
Wonder how Tamron lenses can be updated via the camera and Samyang lenses can't. Strange.
I hope this is the case with the Sigma Arts too if they ever need updates etc
is it just me or are there stripes in the top left corner?![]()
Radiator?

Stop it.This 35 CZ sure does focus lighting fast, I.N.S.T.A.N.T.

I can only imagine, distinct lack of images for us to drool over though!
I've been pleasantly surprised by the adapted lens performance, I just had to try it myself after looking at so many conflicting reports\videos etc. It's not lightning fast by any means, but so far it looks to be more than usable. Low light is definitely the achilles heel, but in good light it even tracks pretty well at 10fps if needed. Lots more testing to do yet, but I'm more tempted to change over to Sony rather than wait to see what Canon do. I really love my Fujis, but I don't think they'll be around much longerAll depends on if I can get over the handling though, I've ordered an L bracket to see if that helps enough.
I have to eat humble pie over the eye AF as well, I'd pretty much dismissed it as gimic\crutch etc. but I can see why everyone raves about it now. It is so different to the Fuji implementation it's not funny! The main difference is just activating by a button (that caught me out when trying to find the setting for it in the menus....) I think even the Fuji implementation would be much more useful if it could be used like that.
