The Amazing Sony A1/A7/A9/APS-C & Anything else welcome Mega Thread!

Just wait it out, I know it’s not ideal..... I got my Sony A9 a good few months after release just in case something major cropped up.
So far it appears it’s only been a hot shoe screw recall lol :D

Looking at the news at how we’ve just launched strikes on Syria [emoji1238] we might have bigger things to worry about if Russia & Iran retaliate :(
Yea thats a bit f***ed but we got the backing of America and France so where not alone

I have been, you're to f*****g lazy to go back or to the source. Poor you and your free hour.

Twist... you're a vaguely nastly little fantasist.

If that gets me a ban so be it.

Yup he really is something. Some days his ok. Others his a rude bloke.

Apparently people pay him to nail eye focus on moving people, that's a pretty easy claim to make, as are the claims to have used and be an expert on every piece of kit going, when you post next to no examples of your photography and those you do post (few and far between) could have been taken by any number of forumers, it all becomes a bit questionable.

I posted some time ago that I didn't know if he was a fantasist or not and maybe I still don't but I do know he's a vaguely nasty piece of work and not worth another second of my valuable time... ignored... :D

Crops mean s##t to be honest, a full unmolested / unprecedented RAW image is what needs to be evaluated.
That would be rather helpful.
If it's an issue at 100% it's an issue... but if you have to shoot into the sun, boost 5 stops or more and crop to 200 to 400% that's a different issue.
Personally if I found an issue I'd post about it in detail and provide examples stating what I'd done... seem easy doesn't it?

Crops are important imo. I still feel that this issue will not appear for 99.9% of people/shots though, but for those that are affected it's not good.

Yes, I often crop to 100% for screen and even prints but I do think it's important to know what's been done to the picture otherwise we're really flying blind here... is it an issue for me? Dunno.... For you? Likely you don't know either.

I was the first to post the issue of the lenses not stopping down to af on a studio environment and almost gave up on Sony. Made a huge thread about it on dp and even talked to a Sony artisan and look what happened. Fixed mate as it was easy to reproduce and effect everyone that shoots with lots of dof in a studio.

Just shows I ain't no fanboy and will ditch Sony if it doesn't do what I want it to do and not afraid to post flaws on the camera.

Yea how is Sony supposed to fix that so called issue if they don't know how to and can't reproduce it?

Raymond tried last night and no issues.

Has he tried in sun light though?
Time will tell if it’s a big issue or not I guess. I guess we will find out soon enough when more people get hold of the camera and start using it.

If I wanted to crop, I would buy a A7R II / III :D
But I agree, it’s a issue for some (minority).

And you are a selfish dips*** who thinks his time is more important than everyone elses. I wasn't the one who started with the nastiness, you were.

I don't understand what needs to be evaluated at this point, we know of the issue, we know generally what causes it and we have some clunky means to fix it (refer to the DPR thread).

As I said, everyone should be made aware of it so they can make informed decisions but unless something new crops up where can the conversation go?

I've yet to see many reporting it in other forums.

There are Many people who have this camera. Just takes a couple to easily reproduce it in a specific setting and scenario

You was the first to start your nastiness and surprisingly still continue to do so..

You make this thread toxic. I can get a long with many here without the rudeness unlike you.

Yea this is exactly spot on. Why mention and moan about it if you can't even replicate it in the real world for your usage?

Its a joke really from twist moaning about it as if we all affected and will see the issues on our real world shots and tests.

Twists moans too much about it yet still has it on pre order.

I bet he will jump ship again next week as always...

When did I say everyone will experience it Jonney? Don't put words in my mouth, I said it may effect me as I shoot backlight.

You need to go back and read why I swore. It was in response to someone else.

I remember you once said here that it effects all Sony a7 cameras. Well I posted loads of back lite shots here with the a7r3 and couldn't reproduce it and no one here batted an eye lid

It does to some extent in some scenarios, the other cameras need to be pushed more.

Did I say everyone would experience it? No.
